Daria's court coverage continues to be amazing. I continue to state that if you cannot hit winning shots against her, and lots of them, then expect to lose. She typically has very few UE's, and you must take advantage of those rare games that she does that to try and win those games. Otherwise, pack your bags 'cause you're going home. I love watching the frustration set in on the faces of her opponents as they try to figure out where to hit the ball such that Daria will not get to it. Her anticipation is awesome. Only the hardest ball strikers are going to be able to beat DK.

No doubt Kasatkinaa played so well and much more consistently than usual. But Stearnss seems to have come here with an attitude of just playing some random practice game with her college play partners, with a mountain of unforced errors!

Katsatkina did not so much win this match.! Stearns did her level best to donate as many points as possible to help her win.! What was she and her team thinking? That playing the same style of play with every match was going to be good to beat Katsatkina.? Katsatkinas play style is always to first play for her opponents to make mistakes by being super patient and deadly accurate with her returns. Then she strikes like a cobra when her opponent least expect it. You have to win the points if you hope to beat her. Waiting for her to make mistakes is very optimistic. She doesnt do that.

Stearns ist soooooo unsympathisch. Kasatskina hat den pittbull in die Schranken gewiesen. Eine unangenehme , verbissene Person !

@@gb5663 This is what happens to players when they get frustrated doing what they normally do to win points. They have to go outside their playing ability to win points, and that typically causes UE's. Study Daria's opponents and you'll see that happens a lot.

@@gb5663 Daria has issues with the top players that can strike the ball hard enough to pass her and win the points that the weaker players cannot do. It's really that simple.

Kasatka means "killer whale" in Russian)

Kasatka or kosatka is "killer whale" now. But earlier, in past centuries, the word "kasatka" was called a swallow. A bird with a long forked tail. In relation to people, it meant "nice or sweet person". And this surname, Kasatkina (female version), Kasatkin (male surname) is very common among Russians.

But not everyone knows and remembers the origin of the surname.
