I am still laughing. Paused at 9:16 because of the ChatGPT Phone Number guys :D I was imagining my Grandma calling it because of her TV Channels auto search... and the thing is - let us pleaseee listen to the transcripts :D they must be hilarious. imagine! my stomach hurts of laughing. this endless loop of requests and ChatGPT always friendly and still motivated where others might have hang up long time ago by quitting their job forever :D
To be honest, as I do not have access to Veo2 yet, I place it under "HYPE". Everyone needs public access before it is legit. BTW, I would not be surprise if OpenAI releases SORA 2 (for o1 pro subscriptions). Please note these companies are still a couple of years away to make any profit from Video gen AI - They are losing tons of money. Midjourney wanted to but decided not to join *YET* due to the economics payback is not there yet.
This is far from "hype"--at least for Veo 2. Everyone knows AI for Humans is an OpenAI / ChatGPT / Sam Altman stan zone. Oh, Google is a Grinch for "stealing" ChatGPT's shipmas thunder. Nevermind that OpenAI announced o3 a day after Google announced Veo 2, announced vocal AI feature a day before GoogleIO, has been clearly training ChatGPT off RUclips videos and stole the Transformer that Google developed and used it to make ChatGPT. But Gavin and Kevin's worst sin of all: WHERE THE FRELL IS HOT DOG CITY MUSIC VIDEO?!!! 😱😱😱 Kevin talked about it months ago how it was being made and then ... NOTHING! Toaral radio silence! Where ma anthropomorphic hot dogs at? Where are my hot dogscrapers? Where my hot dog subways at? Where are my hot dog citizens singing and dancing in ketchup and mustard rain?!!! 😱😱😱😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣
It was hilarious watching you guys use whisk to put the Terminator and Shrek on a movie poster and then Shrek becoming absolutely shredded. That was amazing
Thank you again for another banger show. You touched on it a bit in this show; will there be any future shows exploring locally run AI setups for hobbyists? As Kevin mentioned in regard to Apple's locally run AI as underwhelming, what are use cases for locally run AI for private use and business use. One obvious is getting away from the monthly fee and another reason is token restrictions. I think cons are you are responsible for the training, and you have another kind of monthly costs. But I think locally run AI has a future just like PCs became important in our lives.
18:00 Reading between the lines, it seems that saying the data isn't growing because we have one internet seems like a tacit admission that all copyright has already been infringed. If it hadn't, he would be saying, "We've scraped all the legally available data, but there is plenty more copyrighted data that we could train on and we should negotiate access to it".
Please enter me in the Applebee's gift card drawing! Fiesta Lime Chicken FTW! But seriously, another great episode, gents. Loved to watch the AI co-host go off the rails with Monster Milk. C'mon, Anthony! Get your s**t together.
I think the experience of seeing and getting used to humanoid robots with be just like seeing a cyber truck for the first time, kind of wowed yet repulsed. Now they are everywhere.
hahaha except unlike the cybertruck being something that is really just like SO different and weird vs everything else on purpose, i think humanoid robots will be a lot more normal, much faster.
Great breakdown of the competition between AI players. The focus on long-context capabilities could redefine how we interact with complex systems in everyday tasks.
listen I understand openAI was taking their time releasing sora because they just needed a break okay, but _they won't come back from break and idunno why, we're asking them so nicely, we're saying can we please come back from break_ ... good news is we know a qualified person to shake OAI out of their obvious complacency. someone to tell sam to *COME BACK FROM BREAK!!! I WANNA DO THE SHOOOOOOOOOW!!!*
You say "failed bit"... I say 😂... Monster Eggnog next week. Unsure what subtle change that might have on next week's AI co-host when compared to Monster Milk but idea for you to brainstorm with :)
The startups underestimate Google DeepMind at their peril. They do have metric fucktons of data and compute, and don't lack for smart people. The way to stay ahead of Google is to ship capability that Google doesn't quite have the stones to ship, yet. Because increasingly you aren't going to be significantly ahead of them technically.
I concur with the Apple sentiment alongside Papa Kev but on the flip side you can’t eat Waygu every day then dive into a Salisbury Steak and look for improvements. Apple is still playing in ketchup
Meta and their steganography isn't really worth mentioning. There were printers trying to do that 20 year ago and that fell flat straight off the bat. Other than that, great video and I need to get me some of that Monster Milk this festive season :)
The only part of apple intelligence I have found useful is --- using the camera button u can with one click ask chatgpt about an object. I agree the rest is "not exciting".
Some notes, as some stuff was missed from Google: -Gemini dropped 3 new models, 1 official, and 2 previews: 1.5 pro deep research, 2.0 Flash, and 2.0 Advanced -Notebook LM has a "join in" beta, so voice mode for their AI Audio overviews -Gemini 2.0 Flash in Google Studio has Gemini Live video access which provides really quick feedback on what you're looking at and what's on your screen All have been pretty impressive. I just wish they add a canvas and projects feature. Also memorization improvements so I don't always have to say " can you remember...", similar to Chat GPT
once again, awesome guys. i knew 80% of the updates already but you still managed to make it entertaining and insightful
i did have to fast-forward the old italian dude tho lol
hahahaha well there's only SO much you can do for us
I wanna see someone make a commercial for the chat GBT number like the 1-900 numbers in the 90’s “PICK UP THE PHONE!” 😂
That’s a good idea!

12:25 Odd that this hallucination benchmark doesn't have Claude/Anthropic on it...
Both of you guys are awesome! Thank you so much for bringing us these updates.
Merry early Christmas, hopefully Santa doesn't come down the chimney with a clunk-a-clunk

yes video is VERY expensive vs text gen which is why we're limited so much on Sora gens on the Plus plan but yeah we wanna get in as well

right in time for my lunch! 🥪 how nice of you! :)
whoooo thankfully we made it in time
It was hilarious watching you guys use whisk to put the Terminator and Shrek on a movie poster and then Shrek becoming absolutely shredded. That was amazing
hahaha thank you and welcome to our insanity
Best podcast! Fun! Great people! Happy Holiday!
Ayyyyyyyye we thank you very much for this

March 2025 doesn't have to be bad; if we all STAND UP TOGETHER on March 22.
In the future, there will be robots.

veo 2 is so mind blowing, cant wait to see it in hands of capable film maker
yeah i can't wait to see in the hands of me as well
I want to see the knight in medieval Europe, not the desert attacking the mechanical octopus with trees, bushes, and castles in the back round.
i assume that this *can* happen but who knows

we could used some ai for that 'cold-sore'

Gemini advanced is free for a year if you own a pixel 9 pro.

is there a non-dairy version of monster milk yet
Greetings from India.
When can we expect things
like AI tutors etc?
great talk:)

sidenote: ketchup is not for playing, it's for eggs
@ or Thousand Island… whats abouts meatloaf???

Merry Christmas Gentlemen!
mAy, i state for the record… bah Humbug… Seasons Greetings… that is all
Well, no one is going to have Brad Pitt star in their AI movies a few short years from now anyway. New, fully synthetic, actors will hatch.

We’ve innovated our way out of civilization. 👏

Yeah, a "nerdy" queerness.

Kevin frequently interrupting Gavin is very distracting.
