I have 515. We had power go off from a Sandhill Crane. It was on a surge strip and my TV is ok. Whew lot of work to disconnect to check. Built Sept. 2011. I have a Dvd in mine.
Had an hour until Svengoolie came on. The hold the power button trick was not working, 10 minutes later. While I have a MDR515H, the button looks different, and is in a different place, but after one push, VOILA, the unit came back to life and even all my hard drive programs are still there! Will not miss recording Svengoolie after all. Thank you. 😃
Our Magnavox HDD/DVD wouldn't power up after a thunderstorm a couple of years ago, and I didn't bother to look at until today. I suspected it was dead and would never work again. I removed the cover and checked the fuse, thinking it could be blown, but it was OK. I didn't see anything obvious, but i noticed the reset button and pushed it, not thinking it would make any difference. Then I watched your video and was amazed that pushing the reset button could make the unit work again. I plugged the unit in, pushed the power button, and it worked ! WOOHOO! Many thanks for this video. I wish I had watched it sooner.
you can also unplug for an hour, hold power button as you're plugging it back in. learned that from a forum. worked for me and i didnt have to remove cover.
Try another remote replacements for around 15.00. The knockoffs or universal remotes probably work fine but you can probably find a genuine new or used. Did you replace the batteries?

@@propaganmessiah388 Those are all good ideas has it ever worked that you know of? Just make sure it is unplugged if you open it. I havent worked with that one and see what you see trial an error could be as easy as a small internal connector has come loose. Look in the menus for remote settings too.
The remote I have is an NB820 Magnavox OEM you can find on Amazon and Ebay and some are OEM and some are aftermarket but they work pretty well too. I like the Logitech Programmable remote than you can have more things on one remote.
@@13Ucube pretty much all of them they are programmable. They are on the spendy side 200 and up and the programming and use are a bit technical but worth it once you are used to it. Fun toy and you can save your settings and put it on future logitechs remotes.

what if the nc266 model does not respond to the remote that I know works ??
