I served in Iraq in 06… First armored division, IRONSIDES. And I knew MANY Vietnam vets… great guys. And I’ll say this the 2 things that would kill this reenactment are if the conversations and the downtime didn’t feel natural… like real life banter was happening in that moment… and if too many mannerisms from 2023 or New terms and phrases were heard.. again for the “most” part didn’t happen…. Like the other dude said… almost forgot it was a reenactment! Really awesome video.
i was one of the attendees of this event, all of us but me especially me personally try to make sure our speech and mannerisms reflect that of the time period. down to calling equipment what original troops would and not modern nicknames. It means a lot that that detail wasnt lost on atleast one person! from me and the other morons who like walking for fun, thank you. and thank you for your service
I never watch reenactment shit n think the shit is hilarious. forgot i wasn't watching a real ken burns doc on this one though. Plus i got mad respect the Vietnam war Soldiers as my grandfather did 2 tours in. Vietnam.MSG charles holy Lane
The event coordinator expressed interest in getting more ARVN in for future events. The past 2 events had only two ARVN interpreters since there weren't very many Vietnamese-American reenactors living in the Midwest.
Oh sweet. My friend and I created our own ARVN unit based on the 5th Division in the midwest, we got almost a squad in but kits are still WIP. I'm almost done with my infantryman kit and I just need the M1 rifle. Hopefully in the near future, we can get some 5th div guys to join the fight!

Ho Chi Minh committed a brutal mass-murder on landlords in North Vietnam in the 1950s. Ken Burns himself showed this of Ho.
Shits perfect man
What are they shooting? Or is it purley blanks with no bbs or paint balls?
The rounds are blanks
Do you guys do pretend hand to hand combat too?
All the good reenactments are in the Ohio area apparently.
1st Marine Division lets go
My grandfather was in 1st marine division
