@@arkaneforyou Yes, for me it has enough rt-performance. Though, ray tracing is not very important for me. If it is, then you should probably buy an Nvidia card instead.
which is crazy is I bought a 6700xt for my wife at 180$ off used market then a brand new 7900 xt nitro plus for 500$ always try to trade your old gpu for a lower price that's what I did to get the 7900 xt W ill be getting the 7900xtx when the price drops from next gen release dont over pay on pc parts gentlemen buy a 6700xt to start if your a 1080p gamer
It's good to see this card is still doing well. IDK what AMD was thinking with their original MSRP but it's about time the price became reasonable for consumers. I ended up getting a 6900 XT in a similar fashion when the prices came down and I am very happy with my card. I imagine anyone who shopped like I did and are now looking at a 7900 XT as a prospective new GPU for 1440p will be very happy and have a solid 3-4 years of use.
i have a 7900xt and im using the upscaling tec to got to 4k. it looks so good, upscaling to 144fps max graphics in game is play most, couldnt be happier
@@chasedyer5950 4K uspscaling is good because you have more info to work with, which doesn't happen in 1080 upscaling from 720p or astonishing 480p lol

I greatly appreciate the clarity of settings for each benchmark and using native settings! I swapped over to 7900xt from a RTX3070. I mainly do sim-racing in VR and I was hitting the VRAM limit on the 3070 constantly. With the 20Gb of VRAM now I was able to up the headset resolution and in-game details with getting near the VRAM limit.
Man I love my AMD reference 7900xt. Bought it day 1 and no regrets and I find it doesn't look ridiculous (sleek and feels well built). People say its not a 4k card but man this card looks good using my LG C1 at 4k with a little upscaling if needed. Cyberpunk with mainly high settings i'm getting around 100- 110fps (capped) using FSR quality. Good enough for me!
Awesome review. I just bought a 7900XT MERC310 Since I’m on 1440p 165hz it seems this card will do the best for the money. I dont like any of the DLSS/FSR stuff personally just pure rasterization. I’m matching it to a 5800x I got a deal on so I think it’ll be a decent combo!
I have the Powecolor Heallhound 7900XT…. It’s been fantastic so far … I got it 6 months ago… The only complaint I have is it can be a little loud but not a big deal
Great review. I think this card makes a lot of sense in 2024 at it's current price. Especially if it needs to last 2+ generations. A month back, I purchased an XFX RX 7900 XT for a new 7800X3D based build. Paid $725, no regrets whatsoever. It's a good match for my 1440P, 34" curved ultra wide. So far great performance with ultra settings on Helldivers 2, Enshrouded, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn amongst others.
Thank you for watching and supporting! I remember being in line for the XTX with you. The Microcebter employee said “we have 70 cards. 35 XTX and 35 XT.” You could just hear the crowd moan. No one wanted the XT. At $900, it was a hard sell. But today for $750 or less, it’s not so bad.
hmm, did you notice the temps on the auto overlcock performance, they were way lower then the normal run. I have the sapphire pulse 7900xt and it rocks games at 1440p, rarely ramps up the fans which it a good think as I have it in very small all vent case right next to my monitor. Love the card, will have to try the auto overclock to see if I get the same results.
I think the auto overclock also changes the fan curve. Also, undervolting these cards are part of the overclocking process as odd as that sounds. But that also leads to lower temps.
Don't know where this channel has been hiding all my life but I subbed immediately. I'm ALL for that native raw power gaming without gimmicks. Thank you for these tests. Very high quality videos. As a side note, in the future the RT might be baked in the games in a way you can't disable it. I think there's already games like that. So it's slowly forced upon us. That's why I kinda want to wait for 8000 series but I don't think there will be any 20GB 320 bit cards coming up... While 16GB and 256 bit is still enough (rumored 8800 XT), I kinda wanna get the 7900 XT 😁
I got mine for 650 March 2023 it was great, I’ve had to play around with the frequency lowering it for Space Marines 2 otherwise it crashes but it’s been great otherwise
Got one for $619 at Micro Center, a few days later the benchmark leaks of the 8070 (or 9070?) XT clocking in around the GRE's performance, feeling pretty great about the move
My last card Asus Rog Strix 6800xt LC OC did 4 K just fine. I upgraded to the MSI SUPRIM LC 4090 and I think I'll sit on it until the 6000 series or until the 9900XTXTXXX.
Thank you! Yeah good point for sure. Admittedly, it can be hard to keep up with so many different but yet similar SKUs lol. But yeah the 7900 XT is a great option for 1440p gamers.
I was able to get an open box of that same card at Microcenter for $685+tax last year when the MSRP dropped to $800. Definitely a solid card. I play games at 3440x1440 and am able to average 60fps or higher on most games fully maxed out.
Yes, early last year in the UK, this is what I did. I paid the extra £100 for the extra X luck and got a 7900xtx at £889; it was on sale and ihas been an outstanding GPU at the time; 4080 was well over £1200. I would recommend 7900XTX for ref my CPU 5800x3D, dispay 1440, 21:9. I no issue with temp and I max out my visual setting and been an outstanding GPU
I just got one in near perfect condition for $525. Got it home and had no display out at all. My psu was only 750. Got an 850 psu and it works flawlessly after the proper driver updates. Those first few blue screens had me geeking out though. LoL.
Very cool video and I’m sold. I’m currently using an Rx6800 but I’m gonna make the jump to this card. Like you said the 20GB of Ram will hold for years to come even with 16 I’m sure I’m good but currently I can’t play 1440p at ultra I can’t even play on high with ray tracing on for example on Black Myth and I’m hoping this card will get me there .
Finally someone that focuses on RAW FPS. I love watching a lot of tech channels but I HATE when they justify going nvidia because of DLSS....IMO dlss is for older cards that cant provide raster performance anymore and it should be viewed as a tool to help older cards survive longer. All NEW cards should be more than capable of providing great raster performance. I have tested so many GPUs these past 2 years. I should have done tech videos LOL I never use upscaling
Thank you! Yes, I agree. Upscaling should be for older cards. It should be the icing on the cake and not the cake itself. Sadly, Nvidia and even AMD now showcase these tools as main selling points for their current gen GPUs.
I don’t know why but between all the reviews I have seen, your’s is the most conclusive and comprehensive. Maybe it is as you said the raw numbers that keeps the talk on point👍
I snagged an Asrock 7900XT on sale in November and paired it with a coupon i had for newegg. So i paid 620 before taxes, then sold the 6800 i had for 320. So 300 all in for a 7900xt is amazing
One of the main reason why i want this instead of the 70 TIS is the shape and design of the original AMD 7900xt Looks so damn clean in comparison to the nvidea cards I just want it for its minimalistic style ill be using on my white fractal north
I just bought this GPU for my new build, considering I'm upgrading from an old rig from 2018 that had a, now defect, 1080ti, it's going to be great. I don't care about raytracing, as long as I can play on high graphic settings and still get good FPS, I'm happy.
I have a 7900 XT Nitro+ under my own reservation while it is still en route, planning on replacing my 3060 Ti ROG Strix, because 8GB just isn't enough for me for 1440p. But I'm not going to pick it up just yet, I wanna see what we'll see at CES.
Found a Red Devil 7900xtx for $700 - totally worth it. I really enjoyed my 7900xt and I do think it would have still been enough but I couldn't pass up the xtx for 4k gaming.
I grabbed the XTX back in April 2023 because it was only 12% more expensive than the XT. I don’t regret it, the extra VRAM and 20% raw performance is nice.
its either this or the 4070ti super for me, but the nvidia card is 150 euro more, question is though will i miss the reflex mode and notice slower latency ? :/ also really unsure due to the odd time i do play single player games i do enjoyray tracing
I’d say save the money and get the XT. As for latency, I’d say no you probably won’t notice it. But AMD has its own version of Reflex called Anti Lag. You can try that. Worse case scenario, you can always return the AMD card and get the Nvidia card. But I think it’s worth trying the AMD card for a bit to save the money.
Was thinking to buy 7900 GRE but noticed a huge hot price for Sapphire Nitro + Edition... i decided to go over the XT, the difference was only 70 Euros between Nitro Gre and XT so choosing XT was no brainer...cant wait to test it out...oh ye in my country... Nitro GRE is around 660 to 750 euros while XT version was 825... so yea... think i did solid here
7900 XT Overclock Undervolt I'm running: Min Clock 2073, Max Clock 2855, Voltage 1000, VRAM Fast Timing, 2700 max frequency, Power limit maxed at +15. That will lower idle power and give solid, stable boost to performance across every game I've played
Its now at 619$ without tax on microcenter. I got it for 760 cuz i added insurance for 2 years :') but I can just trade it in when the new gpu's come out. Super good card for what it's worth. Especially with Freesync premium pro, it makes my gpu work like butter. Love it 💪
It's a really solid 1440 card, you can even have RT on high at a comfortable above 60fps in some games without any upscaling. Also overclockes very well above what you can overclock any of the 40 series Nvidia cards. Only downside is the price tho models often go on sale.
best thing about about this card is turning the setting down to high setting at 4k. you get a big jump in performance because you dont hit a bandwidth limit. 800gbs thats more than the 4070ti 504gbs and the 4080. nvidia uses the faster GDDR6X but cripples it with the bus so it slower than the older GDDR6
Had a 7900xt since last year now, got in on sale for 600€ im very happy with it. Dont overclock those cards like you would with nvidia cards or older amd models. Small things go a long way, undervolting is the way, 1070mV (you might get it lower), oc the memory to 2650mhz (you might get 2700), and set the power limit to +15% Undervolting and +15% power lest the core clock boost so much higher than what you would reach with a normal oc, from my experience at least and i tried normal oc before so undervolting it the way to go on 7000 series amd. From that i gained about 20-30% more fps in most games, yea its gonna draw about 400w on full load but only for games like dying light 2 @1440p or benchmarks so i just play games like that in cold months xD
My 7900XT Sapphire Pulse: Consistent green screening and complete crashing and GPU died shortly after getting, waiting on the second RMA, just as a heads up to anyone who has it
I think this card is much more future proof than many people consider right now. It has 20 GB vram and even more cores for Raytracing than Nvidias 4070 Ti super. My guess is, that Nvidia just has a better or bigger software dev team, which could invest more time in the programming than AMD was able so far. And even though RT is a nice thing to have, it is not that important right now. But the time will come, for sure.
apart from the measured temps... on the outside even around the cable ports u can fry a steak. can turn off the heater in my small room when im clapping games in 4k
i have the same powercolor model about a year now and had zero problems with it not a single game crashed for me didn't get the xtx because it was and is still much more than 100$ for exaple in my curency xt is 3659zl and xtx is 5399zl and 1usd is 3,92zl
picked up a merc 7900xt last week for 699.00 USD. Best buy.. it is a beast compared to the 2070S . a little loud with the 330w that it usually runs at when demanded
Yes the temps went down in the OC mode. I think the Auto OC may have lowered the voltage a bit and therefore led to lower temps. Believe it or not, RDNA 2 works very well with under volting.
I havent bought this card yet but im hoping for sure it will be dope! Im gonna get the 7900xt XFX MERC 310 for around 740 dollars. Im sure i will be happy with that as i am making a massive upgrade from a gtx 1650 to that😂
I went from a 980 ti to a 2080 super and loved the jump in performance. Now I waited until there were cards which were the equivalent jump in performance and decided the 7900 XT was the one. I also paid a couple hundred dollars less than I did for my 2080 super! Whereas the 2080 super crushed 1080p and pushed 1440p, the 7900 crushes 1440p and pushes 4k. I never plan on gaming at 4k and I feel like this will last me another 4+ years
I have the XFX 7900XT Black, and I had for almost a year. It's funny how no one points out how its base clock is slightly higher than other cards. And it shows with the same titles. I've noticed 10fps increase in some games, I know it ain't much, but it's something to keep it at or slightly above 60fps @ ultra 4k settings for some titles.
Is it worth it over a radeon vii for 1440p I feel bad if I will switch because the radeon vii still is powerful but I found it not pefroming well for vr games and in games it gets so hot and loud
The cheapest 7900XT is $1149 AUD, the equivalent of $760 USD, which is a mighty good price, especially for us here. If it was that price when I built my PC in Oct 23, I would have grabbed it over the 7800XT. But since I've dropped from 1440 to 1080 since then, due to eyesight issues, it's all good. Edit: Love your jacket mate.
Oh man I hate to hear about your eyesight issues. I hope everything works out for you on that. Best of luck! Thank you for the compliment on the jacket. I may keep wearing it for videos. At least while it’s cold here haha.
@@ErockOnTechthanks mate. The eyesight thing isn't too serious, thankfully, just a combination of existing issues and getting older. The bright side is my system, built for 1440, has a longer "future delay"...love that term by the way.
i have mid-high end gaming PC just new, cost around 2000 euros. The GPU was 772 euros. I didnt choose a 7900 XTX because that would have been 300 euros for 15% performance gain. I do game on a 65inch 4k TV though, so i dont know, did i make the right choice. I tested all kinds of games and didnt have trouble, all was either 60+ or 120 FPS. I barely have to do Ultra settings, i cant even see the difference in high vs ultra. I tried in horizon forbidden west and there is really no reason to use ultra. The CPU was a 7800X3D and good fast memory 6000 mhz @ 30 cl. timings too.
Just ordered the Hellhound 7900XT Spectral White to replace my Asus Radeon 8GB Rog Strix. Don't think I'll worry about OC for my 1440P, she'll be right.
Just bought the Asus tuf oc version and it's brilliant. Fast and quiet but so big. Only 740 pounds in the UK. I bought it and will be selling my 4090 because I couldn't get rid of camera panning judder on both my Asus pg27aqdm oled and my Alienware aw3423dwf. I put my sons 6750xt in and the judder was gone. It seems those monitors claim to be Gsync compatible but there not good with Nvidia cards. They wasn't validated in the drivers. Now it's ridiculously smooth with the Amd cards. No point in extra fps if it isn't smooth.
I just got a XFX RX 7900 XTX black card via "instant sale"(5 minute limit) and a $50 coupon for $763 with tax on Amazon. //edit// fat fingered the price, corrected it. // The RNA3 took a bit of learning to OC and Under Volt, because the "under volt" isn't "normal". They do some "unusual" load balancing stuff, you really need HWinfo64 to see it. But I'm running it at 350-ish watts now at 2600 core limit with hundreds of FPS at 1080p in all games and tests. At 2800 core it jumps to 386-ish watts and only gains 15-20 fps. I can move up the frequencies to about 3083(3080 no issues solid) before it craps out. However, that bumps wattage to 467-ish watts. Not AT ALL Worth the fps game for normal use. I run the memory at 2724 with normal timings, for all settings. I admit, that's a bit of "silicon lottery" due to chips I got, but 2680-2700 seems "normal" on these, in most cases.
If you had an AMD processor, you would also gain more performance with the SAM technology. I have a 5700X3D and RTX 3070, looking into purchasing the 7900 XT when it drops to $600-700. I like that reference model design, makes it look stealthy.
I'm debating on switching to amd Ive had nividia since the 20 series would u consider switching if I need the video memory if theres one local store that sells for 999 cad I could go 4070ti super if I had to if that is more 1440p high and mid to high 4k
@ShadowFoxBiH your an absolute legend for this man! Great video Erock. I personally use this GPU with an AMD ryzen 7 7800 x3d and I love the performance! Its meant to compete with the 4070 and yet it out preforms the 4080 in some titles. Runs perfectly at 1440p with high refresh rates and runs 4k really well also. AMD is the absolute best for price to performance!
well, you can see why it sometimes outperforms the 4080, in games like call of duty the xtx is better than the 4090 which should be a much better card in terms of hardware. Thats happening because its amd sponsored and amd optimized.
I am interested in this card and this model is the cheapest in my country , my concerns are - is the temperature ever going too high and causing issues , and is there coil whine under heavy load and if there is how bad is it because that would be a deal breaker for me .
Thanks for talking about pure gaming power and not fake frames. From where I sit, DLSS had to be developed because ray tracing eats up one's performance, and Nvidia needed a way to keep selling RT to people who crave FPS. Kind of a "take this pink pill because it controls the nausea you get from the yellow pill" scenario. Given the yellow pill isn't making my life better, I'd rather just stop taking the yellow pill and then have no need for the pink pill.
Glad you took a look at this. I disagree it’s not a 4K card. You said that several times in the video and never backed it up with why. Also this a reference card third party cards generally run much better on temps and frequencies for the same price. 7900XT’s can be found for $699 right now!
Ok you disagree. Cool. Buy it and use it at 4K if that’s what you want. I did back it up. I showed 4K benchmarks. But it depends on what you want in 4K gaming. To me, 4K 60 isn’t really a 4K card. Look at Starfield. Starfield is an AMD sponsored title and yet at 4K, the 7900 XT only gets about 65 fps or so. Again, that’s in the video. Anyway, PC gaming is great because you are not locked down. You can game however you want. Which is truly a beautiful thing. So go for it!
Honestly I hope amd 8000s currently the power route like the rx 7900xtx and 7900xt but make it more power efficient like the 40 series cards =) one can dream.
I bought my son a sapphire pulse 7900 xt for 600 USD (open box at microcenter without a box) in June 2023. Even today I can see it's a great deal. Wasn't a fan of the idle power draw, but great GPU...esp for the price I got it for. At this point...I'd rather wait for RDNA 4 because the Navi 32 (7800 xt and 7700 xt) as well as Navi 31 (7900 xtx and 7900 xt) have really high idle power draw when used with certain monitors. Using youtube also draws like 80-120 watts which is unacceptable. Waiting for next gen to finally upgrade my 3060 ti...we'll see what the offerings are!
I don’t use any 3D software. I’m sorry. I can say it’s fine for video recording, video rendering, and video editing. But for 3D work, I would have to suggest another creator. If I get some support on my team in the future, I will try and add 3D to the benchmarks.
I have this card, but I had to transition back to my 3060 Ti as my system started crashing when playing MW3 in HDR at 1440p through Battlenet, even using default driver mode. May be either the card failing or driver software, but my troubleshooting can't determine the actual cause as I can play other games through Steam with no issues. I see your COD plays fine.
Yes, my COD plays fine with no issues. In fact, COD favors AMD GPUS over Nvidia by a substantial margin. COD is the only game where an XTX can beat a 4090. Your situation is very interesting indeed. I know it is a pain but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your COD or drivers, or even Windows?
@@ErockOnTech have done your suggestions several times, but no joy. I have read that COD favours AMD which is why I bought it in the first place. Thank you for your time and reply. Much appreciated.
@@ErockOnTech Thank you again for your content and helpful Patreons. I really don't know why it doesn't work. The game plays with both my RTX 2070 Super and 3060 Ti without a problem.
Im thinking about buying it to play at 1440p while getting rid of my current rx 6650 xt (for 1080p), i choosed it over the ryzen 4070 super even tho it has better raytracing performance and it costs almost the same becaus ethe 7900 xt has way more vram and lately we've seen games demanding a lot of vram and i doubt that this trend is gonna change so i want to future proof myself with buying this gpu
I have a 4070 ti and I only play chess (almost). Now I'm wondering whether I should just get a 7900xt or xtx just for the vram. There is no end to this madness.
Why the overclocked version always get lower gpu temperatures?? I mean, if the fan's RPM arent there I guess you guys didnt tweaked anything related right, so why are the oc version so much cooler?
I just recently picked up a 7900XT, amazing card. I only game at 1440p native and its kicking ass with that. Highly recommend it. Turn the FPS meters off and just play. The games run great, even ray tracing is great, it's not as bad as everyone is saying.
@@vkouroub No issues, everything just works. Old and new games are great. I stopped watching RUclips clips about GPU's and then when I spotted a good price for a 7900XT I just jumped on it. I've always been an Nvidia person, 1080, 3080.
Your lucky you live in a tax free state. I just picked up a refurbished 7900xt Hellhound for $602 after taxes, $567 before, but when I get my 6% cash back it goes back to 567.
How is £700 for 60fps at 4K any good? My 970sc is 60fps at 1440p (£300 new 10yrs ago) Just not good enough from any company. Should cost £400 for budget 4K 60fps regardless of who make them by now. 8K 60fps should be high end £700...what happened to the progress? Still this better than Ngreedia's lack of effort and RAM. I swapped over to 7900xt from a RTX3070. I mainly do sim-racing in VR and I was hitting the VRAM limit on the 3070 constantly. With the 20Gb of VRAM now I was able to up the headset resolution and in-game details with getting near the VRAM limit.
That’s quite an upgrade!
Very refreshing to see someone focus on pure performance and leave the upscaling stuff out of the discussion.
Thank you!
The 7900xt is an entry 4K GPU just like the 4070ti Super.
I'm happy you love it so much! The XT is an entry level 4K GPU as in 4K 60 without upscaling.
Awesome review.
I just bought a 7900XT MERC310
Since I’m on 1440p 165hz it seems this card will do the best for the money. I dont like any of the DLSS/FSR stuff personally just pure rasterization.
I’m matching it to a 5800x I got a deal on so I think it’ll be a decent combo!
Thank you! That is a great setup for 1440p. Happy gaming!
I have the Powecolor Heallhound 7900XT…. It’s been fantastic so far … I got it 6 months ago… The only complaint I have is it can be a little loud but not a big deal
Try playing with your fan curve. You may be able to get it slightly quieter.
Ahh just the review I needed :) My man. Pairing this with the 7800X3D for a competitive build. Thank you for the review/benchmarks!
Dude I am too I can’t wait
Great review. I think this card makes a lot of sense in 2024 at it's current price. Especially if it needs to last 2+ generations. A month back, I purchased an XFX RX 7900 XT for a new 7800X3D based build. Paid $725, no regrets whatsoever. It's a good match for my 1440P, 34" curved ultra wide. So far great performance with ultra settings on Helldivers 2, Enshrouded, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn amongst others.
Thank you!
$725 is not bad at all. I’m happy you’re having a great gaming experience with the 7900 XT.
I also have the same setup but with a 4070 ti super! its a freakin beast!
i just got my 7900 xt for 680, I am liking it so far.
That’s a good deal!
699 on new egg plus 20 bucks back for cash back can't go wrong
Great review. Loved seeing there’s some oc potential.
Good review on the card. Keep up the great content and keeping us informed.
Thanks! Will do!
I just got one for 660,and I'm pretty happy with it so far
Great video/analysis on this card. I think sometimes people forget about this model when shopping around.
Thank you! Yeah good point for sure. Admittedly, it can be hard to keep up with so many different but yet similar SKUs lol. But yeah the 7900 XT is a great option for 1440p gamers.
got the xt for 650 and likely will try the auto OC option. not interested in 4k gaming so using this for 1440p is great in my situation then
I agree and sounds great!
I was able to get an open box of that same card at Microcenter for $685+tax last year when the MSRP dropped to $800. Definitely a solid card. I play games at 3440x1440 and am able to average 60fps or higher on most games fully maxed out.
You got a really good deal! That’s not bad at all. Even by today’s $750 MSRP. Yeah it’s a great card.
Great analysis, thank you ❤.
You’re welcome and thank you for watching and for the kind words.
I have always loved the aesthetic of the AMD cards. This is a really great value overall if you are targeting 1440p!
I agree! The card looks great!
Just got a 7900xt for $580 last week on FB marketplace. I think that should hold me over for the next gen.
Wow that is a fantastic deal!
for 700 seems like a good deal, it can even compete against nvidia new 4070 ti super
Thank you ShadowFox! AMD Marketing Department should learn from you.
I hope so!
@ErockOnTech How is one of your viewers beating AMD marketing at their own job? LOL

I snagged an Asrock 7900XT on sale in November and paired it with a coupon i had for newegg. So i paid 620 before taxes, then sold the 6800 i had for 320. So 300 all in for a 7900xt is amazing
That’s an amazing deal!
Thats girl math
i am getting mine next month cant wait i have 3060 12gb with ryzen 5 5600x now in uk they go round
£620 now happy that price
One of the main reason why i want this instead of the 70 TIS is the shape and design of the original AMD 7900xt
Looks so damn clean in comparison to the nvidea cards
I just want it for its minimalistic style ill be using on my white fractal north
I just bought this GPU for my new build, considering I'm upgrading from an old rig from 2018 that had a, now defect, 1080ti, it's going to be great. I don't care about raytracing, as long as I can play on high graphic settings and still get good FPS, I'm happy.
Yes! That’ll be a great upgrade for you!
RIP to a GOAT
I have a 7900 XT Nitro+ under my own reservation while it is still en route, planning on replacing my 3060 Ti ROG Strix, because 8GB just isn't enough for me for 1440p. But I'm not going to pick it up just yet, I wanna see what we'll see at CES.
Found a Red Devil 7900xtx for $700 - totally worth it. I really enjoyed my 7900xt and I do think it would have still been enough but I couldn't pass up the xtx for 4k gaming.
I use 7900xt for 4k gaming no issues.

It's all about tuning your settings people
My newly purchased machine has a similar configuration, only on Amd bases 7900x3d, & 7900xt, only used for native 4k games. Perfect in 4k
Recently picked up a 7900 xtx for 999$ USD. Haven't thrown it in the rig yet, I have 3 working pcs's so no rush, needing a better cpu to pair.
XTX is a great GPU. Even better than the XT.
I grabbed the XTX back in April 2023 because it was only 12% more expensive than the XT. I don’t regret it, the extra VRAM and 20% raw performance is nice.
I got a rx 7900xt because I didn't want to change my power supply.

its either this or the 4070ti super for me, but the nvidia card is 150 euro more, question is though will i miss the reflex mode and notice slower latency ? :/ also really unsure due to the odd time i do play single player games i do enjoyray tracing
I’d say save the money and get the XT. As for latency, I’d say no you probably won’t notice it. But AMD has its own version of Reflex called Anti Lag. You can try that. Worse case scenario, you can always return the AMD card and get the Nvidia card. But I think it’s worth trying the
AMD card for a bit to save the money.
Thank you for the advice.
@@ErockOnTech You'll probably have to tinker with your settings for your card and system, but the over/under worked well for me with AMD cards.
Its now at 619$ without tax on microcenter. I got it for 760 cuz i added insurance for 2 years :') but I can just trade it in when the new gpu's come out. Super good card for what it's worth. Especially with Freesync premium pro, it makes my gpu work like butter. Love it 💪
Your videos are really good, i thought you were a million sub account!
It's a really solid 1440 card, you can even have RT on high at a comfortable above 60fps in some games without any upscaling. Also overclockes very well above what you can overclock any of the 40 series Nvidia cards. Only downside is the price tho models often go on sale.
The price is way better now than it was at launch. I suspect it’ll only get cheaper in time.
best thing about about this card is turning the setting down to high setting at 4k. you get a big jump in performance because you dont hit a bandwidth limit. 800gbs thats more than the 4070ti 504gbs and the 4080. nvidia uses the faster GDDR6X but cripples it with the bus so it slower than the older GDDR6
Good point!
Had a 7900xt since last year now, got in on sale for 600€ im very happy with it.
Dont overclock those cards like you would with nvidia cards or older amd models.
Small things go a long way, undervolting is the way, 1070mV (you might get it lower), oc the memory to 2650mhz (you might get 2700), and set the power limit to +15%
Undervolting and +15% power lest the core clock boost so much higher than what you would reach with a normal oc, from my experience at least and i tried normal oc before so undervolting it the way to go on 7000 series amd.
From that i gained about 20-30% more fps in most games, yea its gonna draw about 400w on full load but only for games like dying light 2 @1440p or benchmarks so i just play games like that in cold months xD
I am actually really loving this card, got this for 799 at computer universe.
That’s awesome! Where is Computer Universe?

I remember us both not buying this at Microcenter in December 2022
Haha yeah I was just thinking about that day while filming this. Man time is flying by.
Anyone else notice that the temps were lower on the OC mode? I wonder if it ramped the fans up to do that?
Yes the temps went down in the OC mode. I think the Auto OC may have lowered the voltage a bit and therefore led to lower temps. Believe it or not, RDNA 2 works very well with under volting.
I havent bought this card yet but im hoping for sure it will be dope! Im gonna get the 7900xt XFX MERC 310 for around 740 dollars. Im sure i will be happy with that as i am making a massive upgrade from a gtx 1650 to that😂
Oh wow! Yeah coming from a 1650 means either one of these cards will be a massive upgrade for you!
I never plan on gaming at 4k and I feel like this will last me another 4+ years
Got a xfx 7900xt its flawless highly recommend it
I have the XFX 7900XT Black, and I had for almost a year.
I’d say yes. The 7900 XT will do better in VR. If you get an AIB partner model, the temps and noise levels will be excellent.
@@ErockOnTech I ended up buying the 4070 super I hope I made the right choice
@@lumia_dayZIt’s not a bad card.
Awesome 👏 that’s a great deal!
i have mid-high end gaming PC just new, cost around 2000 euros.
The RNA3 took a bit of learning to OC and Under Volt, because the "under volt" isn't "normal".
Yeah, so that means if you’re happy with this performance you’ll be even happier with an AMD CPU 😊
I agree! ShadowFoxBiH is the man!
well, you can see why it sometimes outperforms the 4080, in games like call of duty the xtx is better than the 4090 which should be a much better card in terms of hardware.
If you tested with an AMD cpu like the 7800x3d would the results not be even better ? Great vid ;)
Thank you! Yes it would be better.
How is the temparature low when overclocking? Vs normal
Why in oc the temps are lower?
Adjusted fan curve.
Honestly I hope amd 8000s currently the power route like the rx 7900xtx and 7900xt but make it more power efficient like the 40 series cards =) one can dream.
I've got a 6900XT but going to a 7900XT doesn't quite seem like enough of an upgrade
Yeah, the 6900XT was/is a great card. Have you tried OC-ing it, it's got as much as +15% available that way.
imo just buy Sapphire rx7900 GRE Nitro+ and OC it while over clocked it has more performance than the xt version
They fixed the idle power with drivers.
Those temps are not hotspot or memory junction I take it?
Shadow is a real one!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
what about render in 3D software ?

I just recently picked up a 7900XT, amazing card. I only game at 1440p native and its kicking ass with that. Highly recommend it. Turn the FPS meters off and just play. The games run great, even ray tracing is great, it's not as bad as everyone is saying.
How are the drivers doing? Any issues?
@@vkouroub No issues, everything just works. Old and new games are great. I stopped watching RUclips clips about GPU's and then when I spotted a good price for a 7900XT I just jumped on it. I've always been an Nvidia person, 1080, 3080.
I got a sapphire pulse one for 600 tax free brand new so Id say yall just need to find a deal, theyre out there
Your lucky you live in a tax free state. I just picked up a refurbished 7900xt Hellhound for $602 after taxes, $567 before, but when I get my 6% cash back it goes back to 567.
@@Username4453 I don't, I just have connections you found a super good deal btw nice!
Probably a solid 5yr card
Thank you, Shadow Foxbih
