    I bought my 7900 XT about a year ago. I am playing games at 1440p. Yes, it was a bit pricy, about 1100 dollars (bought in Sweden). At the same time i sold my 6700 XT and got 400 dollars for that. I defenitely think that the 7900 XT will last me for many years to come. I am very happy with its performance!

    Just purchased the hell hound 7900xt.
    I love it. Got the fans always spinning at 1200. I don't hear it.
    Idle in my cool room is like 22-24c lo. Hotspot 29c.
    Gaming around 51-61c and hotspot like 78.
    Have not had even a SINGLE issue of any kind.
    I was Nvidia guy for most my life.
    AMD is super stable for me at least.
    And I love their software. Very fun stuff!
    Nice being able to have cool metrics without afterbuner needed.
    Fluid motion frames is hilariously fun to experiment with.
    But since I have, and play on a 60 htz tv even at 4k the games I play don't use it fully! insane.

    It's good to see this card is still doing well. IDK what AMD was thinking with their original MSRP but it's about time the price became reasonable for consumers. I ended up getting a 6900 XT in a similar fashion when the prices came down and I am very happy with my card. I imagine anyone who shopped like I did and are now looking at a 7900 XT as a prospective new GPU for 1440p will be very happy and have a solid 3-4 years of use.

Also, the quick and easy auto OC was nice to see, and I certainly understand not including a manual OC as that will vary for each card and can take a lot of time to dial in max stable settings... and of course you will aways have some negative Joe out there having to bad-mouth your settings lol - again, great info and presentation - excellently well done!!!

A month back, I purchased an XFX RX 7900 XT for a new 7800X3D based build. Paid $725, no regrets whatsoever. It's a good match for my 1440P, 34" curved ultra wide. hmm, did you notice the temps on the auto overlcock performance, they were way lower then the normal run. I have the sapphire pulse 7900xt and it rocks games at 1440p, rarely ramps up the fans which it a good think as I have it in very small all vent case right next to my monitor. Love the card, will have to try the auto overclock to see if I get the same results.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  3 месяца назад

      I think the auto overclock also changes the fan curve. Also, undervolting these cards are part of the overclocking process as odd as that sounds. But that also leads to lower temps.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  3 месяца назад

      I’d say save the money and get the XT. As for latency, I’d say no you probably won’t notice it. But AMD has its own version of Reflex called Anti Lag. You can try that. Worse case scenario, you can always return the AMD card and get the Nvidia card. But I think it’s worth trying the
      AMD card for a bit to save the money.

    Dont overclock those cards like you would with nvidia cards or older amd models.
    Small things go a long way, undervolting is the way, 1070mV (you might get it lower), oc the memory to 2650mhz (you might get 2700), and set the power limit to +15%
    Undervolting and +15% power lest the core clock boost so much higher than what you would reach with a normal oc, from my experience at least and i tried normal oc before so undervolting it the way to go on 7000 series amd.
    From that i gained about 20-30% more fps in most games, yea its gonna draw about 400w on full load but only for games like dying light 2 @1440p or benchmarks so i just play games like that in cold months xD

I love watching a lot of tech channels but I HATE when they justify going nvidia because of DLSS....IMO dlss is for older cards that cant provide raster performance anymore and it should be viewed as a tool to help older cards survive longer. All NEW cards should be more than capable of providing great raster performance. I have tested so many GPUs these past 2 years. I should have done tech videos LOL I never use upscaling

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  3 месяца назад

      Ok you disagree. Cool. Buy it and use it at 4K if that’s what you want. I did back it up. I showed 4K benchmarks. But it depends on what you want in 4K gaming. To me, 4K 60 isn’t really a 4K card. Look at Starfield. Starfield is an AMD sponsored title and yet at 4K, the 7900 XT only gets about 65 fps or so. Again, that’s in the video. Anyway, PC gaming is great because you are not locked down. You can game however you want. Which is truly a beautiful thing. So go for it!

    The 8000 series is supposed to be cards with really good price to performance instead of really high prices for mediocre performance, so it’ll probably have a cheaper price then the 7900 XT.

      RT cores aren't being advanced, nVidia is finally giving the scam up because new game engines are rasterizing RT/PT. I wouldn't even be surprised to see nVidia drop RT cores entirely, or move them to the Quadro line exclusively. AMD never separated that function from raster, so of course their RT/PT improves naturally without forcing light sources to go through a completely different process before raster.

    At least in my opinion the 7900xt can run almost any story game 1440p 60-100 fps which is all I need I don’t care for 4k and pvp games 144+ I have 144 hertz 1440p monitor so this gpu could do anything I ever would need it to I mainly play story games

    I have one since launch. Aftermarket massive cooler (the same one they use on the XTX). It runs too hot and too noisy. I hate it. Driver problems. I regret buying it.

      I'm sorry to hear that. My launch day reference model XTX wasn't the greatest either. But I can say this reference model XT was perfectly fine for me.

    The 7900xt is highly underrated. It's only beat by 4080 and up.

      It matches with the 4070ti Super and loses bad in raytracing and upscaling to it.

      @x8jason8x 3 месяца назад +2

      @@ZackSNetwork Neither of those things are true. I've seen it with my own eyes. RT/PT at capacity cripples every GPU but the 4090, which is severely hamstrung itself.
      It beats the horribly named GPU you mentioned at rasterization, which is y'know, the point of a GPU.
      Upscaling is subjective. A matter of preference. Some facts though; DLSS is only available to nVidia users, on a scale of generation card owned. Ridiculous. FSR in any iteration is open source and available to any card supported.
      As the old parlance goes, your argument is invalid. 😂

      @@x8jason8x well, if you call 2 fps more for the 7900xt in 1440p and 1 fps more for the ti super in 4k on average a win for the rx7900xt… yikes.

    I think at $700 it's a definite strong contender in the current landscape. I would only consider a 4070ti Super over it TBH.

    Price of rx7900xtx will go up , its being used by AI startups to run AI compute , cause $900.00 rx7900xtx offers about 40% of compute power of more expensive nvidia $40,000.00 h100 gpu.
    You can buy 50 Amd gpus for 1 nvidia gpu , and get 20x more compute than nvidia .

      Nah... some outliers may go that route, but it won't significantly spike the price. They'll go for 4080 models before AMD. For now, AI and other ML models are really the only advantage nVidia has in the consumer market, hardware wise, if you take away their past market and mindshare.

    I got a Sapphire Pulse 7900xt from Amazon for $669 but I have seen the 7900xt at $630 and even $599 at Micro center but most people are not near a Micro center. I can game at 4k depending on the game examples of 1440p games are Alan Wake 2/Robocop.
