I Switched To AMD Radeon - 1 Month Later

  • 1 month ago I bit the bullet and switched from team green to team red. At first I didn't regret it, but do I after using it for one month?
There are definitely some downsides from making this switch, but some seriously good things coming from it too. In this video I tell you the good and bad things that have happened to me in the month I have had the AMD Radeon 7800XT.
I personally don't care which brand I go for. All I care is that I'm getting a good value product for my money. Team green didn't have that for me which is why I went for team red.
After having a great experience with AMD I plan to go all AMD for my next build to benefit from SAM (smart access memory), aka a performance booster. I potentially will go high end with the next build, too.

AFMF is not quite the same as FSR3 frame generation. try AFMF2 which is already available in beta driver. the currently available AFMF is very cumbersome. you have to make sure to lock the fps in radeon chill. it will double the value. if it reaches that value then the latency will be removed.

Nice video. OC for your card: voltage 1,050. Ram 2500, gpu 2700. Power +11%

    • @FireCestina1200
      @FireCestina1200 13 дней назад

1050 is too low. Will cause a crash over long time gameplay. On short gameplay you might not crash but you will definitely. Also, it's not RAM. It's VRAM. And the 7800XT can easily handle 2555 (need to set 2568 in adrenalin) (some models can handle 2600 but that's really the lottery). The GPU voltage for perfect stability is 1150mV. For OC it's 1125. For more OC it's 1100mV (it's usually the limit before potential crash/issues during boot or very long gameplay) everything under 940mV is unplayable for 99% of people. And everything between 940mV and 1100mV will highly overclock your card (since the lower the voltage the higher your clock will be, so the stability will drop too) that's why in most cases all 7000 series cards can handle 1125mV without issues. And lower than 1125mV it will depends of the card/lottery. Personally I set 2838MHz core clock and 2568MHz memory clock with 1100mV perfect in absolutely everything I own. Didn't find anything that caused any issues. On cyberpunk the GPU can be set higher without error. But not the memory (will crash overtime)

    • @nab-v1w

@@FireCestina1200 that wont crash if you do a milder OC as i sent you, you robably triyng 3000 mhz gpu/2688 vram wich is a bit strong, my recommandation will work fine even with doubled shader constrain on memory clock.

If you just play single player games just enable AFMF (AMD Fluid Motion Frames) in Radeon settings. (Per Game Profiles)
It will give a boost in FPS without losing quality of the game you are playing. It does add input delay.
AFMF2 will be releasing in the next update, which will decrease the input delay by a lot.

FSR works best in 4k tbh. I've had my 7800XT for about 2 months now and I love it. With custom Overclock and undervolt, I'm getting 200+ FPS on Forza 5 and Cyberpunk 2077 1440р max settings even with ray tracing on (Forza, RT on extreme) using AFMF 2, no FSR, only MSAA 8x. Games look beautiful and smooth and GPU temp never goes past 52°C. Was honestly so surprised by the results of a card in the $400 range.

I had an RX 6800 XT bought for msrp from a retailer in my country in my local currency (so it was a little higher than msrp). It was a great card for 1440p. But last year March I bought an RTX 4080, it was very expensive but worth it because I really wanted to dive deep into Ray Tracing and in 1440p the RTX 4080 is a beast. To be honest the RX 6800 XT is still a great GPU not much slower than a RX 7800 XT and I'm sure the 7800 XT is capable of native non RT gaming because my RX 6800 XT is capable of it in most games maybe not in the highest settings but if the highest setting is Ultra then the 6800 XT on High is a beast. I still own the RX 6800 XT and I want to build a new machine and put it back to my current machine and give it to my brother.

you should have no issues overclocking the AMD card even when it comes OC. i have an RX 6750xt Red Devil and i overclock every game. i wouldn't listen to people who tell you quick answers they just want to sound smart, i garuntee there was another reason for the crashes in hogwarts legacy. that being said, you need to remember that you have all these features on Adrenaline software that Nvidia just doesn't have. espeically the dx9 features in advanced features, and yes, the subsurface optimization works on all games lol, even the anisotropic filtering, image sharpening etc. and if you don't have freesync, there's enhanced sync works on all games. also the recording on adrenaline is phenomenal and tons more. adjusting overclocks for each specific game and adjusting colors for each game is something you just can't get on Nvidia and is why i'm sticking with AMD.

True but you have a Red Devil. It's a beast of an overclocking card, same with Sapphire Nitro+. I didn't really bother trying to really figure out why Hogwarts was crashing since that was the only game that was. I also didn't see much performance difference with overclocking.

I switched from 1080GTX to 7800XT for 550$ last year. Very happy so far. No drivers issues, very stable fps. I don't care about the ray tracing hype and do NOT want to give my cash to NVIDIA anymore. Their price, rasterizing performance and naming of GPU's using different components is insane and anti consumer. That is my first AMD GPU (already use AMD CPU's since many years) and I plan to upgrade to their next generation in 2025 as I did upgraded recently to a 5210x1440 monitor :)

FSR implementation can vary significantly from game to game. Besides the different versions of FSR, developers must implement it correctly for optimal performance. For example, FSR works better than XeSS in the new Final Fantasy game, where XeSS is less stable, while FSR 3.1 performs exceptionally better. Additionally, the quality also depends on the monitor you use. On a 2K monitor, "Quality" mode is fine, but on a 4K monitor, "Balanced" mode can still deliver a decent experience.

The difference is night and day specially in the contrast department and i find it to be the perfect size for me with a desk depth of 31.5 inches.
Maybe you should give it a try in the near future plus the TV also becomes your multimedia center where you can stream with your phone or use the apps such as crunchyroll to watch stuff without having the PC on all the time, i honestly don't see myself going back to a regular monitor anytime soon.

I have RX 7700 XT undervolt 1005mV and max frequency 2790MHz it does boost higher than that but stays very close to 1005mV.
