Saw BS on his farewell tour..........HANDS DOWN, best show I have ever seen! He paid homage to many of the rock icons, both past and present, with pictures of them on the back drop. When BS came out on the stage the entire crowd stood up and did not sit down the entire time this man played hit after hit after hit. I had actually forgotten this artist had so many hits. He had an entire entourage of folks up on that stage (I believe I counted 13). It was an AMAZING concert! Great reaction as usual.

Saw Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band open for KISS in 1976, just before his big album Night Moves came out. Nobody in the crowd knew who he was, the show was on Cape Cod, Mass,, and this was the Destroyer Tour for KISS, so they were way hot. Seger and Band got an encore, as an opener, very unusual, especially for an unknown band. And a testament to how great they were.

I was born in 1958 and grew up to the 60s and 70s and so on. You can tell how the music and singing evolved to how it is today. Back then there was no autotune or helpers to sing, it was all raw from the stomach and lungs and vocal talent. The 70s were that time when the music got harder and softer, very little synthesizer since that was new in the 70s. Bob Seger when he was on tour brought his family along, and it was not uncommon to see his chidren on stage with him now and again. Get choice lots of memories for me. Try "Her Strut" next Seger song..

Yes, the guitar effect you are hearing is a Wah-Wah pedal, but it is usually just called a wah pedal for short.
...and now a days, there are different versions of them.. cause as guitarists have usually been looking for ways to make or create a unique sound or tone.... many have made or worked with techs to modify wah pedals to get different nuanced tones from them.

Lex: "What effect is that that goes Wah Wah"
    It's called a Wah Wah pedal/effect :)

That guitar effect could've been an envelope filter or auto Wah pedal, but it was probably a standard Wah pedal. It's a great effect for lead and rhythm guitar playing.
Bob Seger has such a great voice. The "Live Bullet" album is super good. I like his cover of "Bo Didley" that's on it.
