  • Yes I could have opted to use Flame Wheel on Dewgong, but Iron Tail had to be tested as inaccurate moves that had there accuracy increased for Round 3 had there values reset.

Imo, Pryce should've replaced the Dewgong line with a Sneasel and a Jynx instead. Theyre more ice type centered pokemon than Seel.

True, but I think a lot has to do with the fact that Gold/Silver has a lot less scaling from beginning to end compared to Red/Blue, because of the 16 Gym Leaders. At this stage in Red/Blue, Gym Leaders will have Pokemon that's 5 to 10 levels higher, and there teams will grow and grow instead of fluctuating. In other words, if Gold/Silver only had 8 badges, the Gym Leaders at this stage would be more difficult. Pryce would probably have a more expansive team.

It's not that simple. There are tons of values that won't even show up in the scan, because they are either to deep in memory, which means you'll need to attach a debugger to search into those deeper regions. Or the value is encrypted, which means you'll have to back trace the value before it became encrypted. Then you have the situation with the game itself. Addresses move around every time you close and restart the game. Even if the value did show up in the scan and then you save that value in the cheat table, as soon as you close and restart, the address that held that value has moved to a different location. So now the address you saved is no longer modifying the correct value, essentially breaking it. Then you have further complications because many of these values share critical boot up AOB's. This means that you will need to create scripts to tell the value where, when and how it should be modified.
