With the way they do bail in Houston she will most likely just get probation and she will have a low bail for her family to get her out. It’s always the most violent offenders that they keep letting out because they don’t want to deal with them in their system

I'm so tired about reading of the deaths and injuries drunken drivers cause.
Several days ago, 2 young children attending a birthday party inside a structure were struck and killed by a woman who,d just left a neighborhood bar after she crash her vehicle 25 ft into the building. Their mother's in critical condition, older brother hospitalized.It's often no secret in neighbor hoods, towns, who consistently abuses alcohol, but it's only when the cause accidents, kill innocent people they may face harsher penalties.
I've seen notices of arrests people for 5, 6, 7 DUIs.
Law enforcement can take away their DL, put devices on their cars to prevent drunk driving, but alcoholism is a disease that often controls lives, and the drive to get & consume it is great.
What's really sad is the numbers of young people already sucked into it's depths.
So what are we going to do about it? I guarantee you the folks that manufacture alcoholic beverages, as well as the industry that sells it, are not going to lie quietly by as we look for solutions that might impact their bottom $$$.
I have a friend that drives that way on a daily basis
