@@webwarriorfanaticI'm trying to decide between muster courage & stand together - I may tweak it, drop guardians/stand together and go full on tough voltron warpath villian phase draw - it's super slow so far to pull it off cuz it all depends on getting Warpath down - but the hand size when it hits is unreal - it is nice to have different paths to different cool plays - it's really satisfying to make the villian punch himself in the face.
GG. Thor went nuts early on with all those minions coming out. I do think you sometimes overprioritize building out, even holding onto cards like Helicarrier for a turn or 2, but then later on you have so many resource generators etc. out that you almost can't even use them all (the turn where both Helicarrier and Quincarrier were unused hurt). And what's even crazier to me is that you chuck Asgard a few times! I get that building out can feel safer as you have more options, but you also give the villain many more opportunities to pull shenanigans when you prolong the game, which is what happened here at the end of the midgame.
Thanks for feedback! I think you’re right, i need to find a balance between building out because like you said if i let the game get prolonged, villains like Magneto can start ramping and go crazy. Iirc this might be the only Thor game I’ve played where i never played Asgard. It just never felt right lol. The turns i had Asgard + Helicarrier in hand i needed the resource cost reduction immediately which Asgard wouldn’t give. At least it’s 1 less threat on that nemesis side scheme 😂
This was a fun, intense matchup. Getting mansion and quincarrier out in round 1 is definitely a recipe for success. :) Good job playing through some of the intense turns he had there near the end. He can have these non stop turns sometimes that feels like he wipes your board. I played through the MTS campaign with a slight modification of your deck and had a lot of fun. Thor leadership is a blast.
Wooo very thematic run against MTS! Glad you enjoyed running Squared Off with Thor :) The beginning of the game triggering Have at Thee almost every encounter phase felt really nice, but when Magneto started getting extra activations and 3 Magnet counters every round it was rough 😅
@ yeah. It always makes me nervous decking out when the magnet counters are going to pop as well. I usually like to take a lot of stuns and confuses when I play magneto to slow those counters down a bit. I’m not sure if this ever a problem for you but one of the issues I was having with Thor is a lot of dead hands where I had resources and the cards that draw a minion. It was probably bad luck but it did set me back a bit. Other than that, getting so much card draw with him is a ton of fun…
@ Yes i felt that happening a few times in this game too, i think the dead turns are inevitable with a card like Squared Off. Lockjaw and Machine Man are great resource sinks to try to mitigate that, but playing a deck that prioritizes a combo card (Squared Off is useless without another card in hand: an ally) is bound to be less consistent. I think running tons of allies and less events also help mitigate it to an extent
Super awesome using all those magneto hero precon deck cards against the Magneto villian. Thor got tier boosted from mag's precon deck so its perfect that you're running Thor against Magneto. Such a great idea for a playthrough video
Ahah! You played a bit with fire here by overextending your building phase against Magneto despite an explosive start... In the end you still win, so I guess you took right decision lol and it made the run even more epic. Like Thor's ego going a bit overboard, like Vegeta lol. Good game!
Hahaha love the Vegeta comparison. Yea its hard to know what would have happened if i started going for the kill earlier, it might have been a better option tbh. Thanks Albert, I’m still trying to find a good rhythm for Thor to flip that switch :)
I think its time to try hulk leadership too, I found this deck that uses beast to get unlimited strength, if you throw make the call, call for backup, and rapid response, you can have beast working overtime to keep threat under control while hulk dishes out the big damage with the resources, it feels thematic and plays with one of hulk's strengths since a plain triple resource is found in only 2 heroes
@@samuelmamianaristizabal5947 i love leadership Hulk! Not sure if you’ve seen it, but i love playing a Suit Up deck to recur Moongirl to build his board. Recurring Beast ally to get Unlimited Strength is also a big part of it. I have the playthrough with Hulk against expert Magneto here: ruclips.net/video/5dCa_2LnQD0/видео.htmlsi=lNidYG804XoXRGYy
@webwarriorfanatic thanks, I was looking at a recent deck with Ghost-Spider and make the call to also get hulk smash and didn't notice your deck, a suggestion to make the Thor deck better is to look into the special cards he has access to, Godlike stamina is a good card, I know Thor struggles with stuns so you can add that card (for hero form healing too), unshakable, or limitless stamina
Promo cards can be obtained from organized play events! You can call your LGS to see if they have any leftover promos for Marvel Champions and they will tell you how you get them (every store hands them out differently). The current wave AoA doesn’t have promos, but some stores still have leftover promos from the previous wave (NeXt Evolution). You can also get them on eBay!
Don’t forget, Thor’s ability is “once per phase”. So if it triggers in the villain phase, you can still trigger it in the hero phase
Thanks for the reminder, prufrock!
Like Come Get Me Bub and the Warpath ally 😉
@@gnarlantlers70 that is insane lol. I saw your deck, looks crazy innovative!

I like Band Together resource cards 3x because one you get 3 allies in play it becomes 3 energy resources for Lightning Strike.
