    Just some feedback, the way you use the term "generative ai" is incorrect some of the time. Feautres such as the improved search, and notification prioritisation font use generaative ai. They arent generating anything, they fall under the broader term of "machine learning"

    …me looking up how to install Apple intelligence

    Great insights! My uneducated guess is that Apple Intelligence platform will be an incremental boost to Apps, but maybe not a break out capability that is a massive opportunity for developers to chase. It will reward entrenched companies that you have already created a lot of data with. The incremental lift will be more brand touchpoints per day and a small lift to active daily usage. If their app icon was on page 5 and you never remember to launch it for example, but it actually has some really useful data or capability that Siri can put in front of the user. Looking forward to learning more!

      +1 to everything you’ve said. if i had to sum it up: AI is a feature, not a product.
      i’m actually curious to see if Apple Intelligence gets any type of traction at all - big companies probably have less incentive to invest in the tech and small devs are, well, small by nature. i’ll bet that most of Siri’s use, in particular, ends up heavily featuring Apple’s stock apps

    how's the phones performance so far after downloading the beta?

      it’s been good so far. battery life is the thing that’s suffered most, and is what i was trying to avoid compromising earlier in the summer.

    The most ambitious thing of this Apple intelligence thing😂 I'm agreeing. I think they have begin to show Apple Silicon power when it comes to indexing thing. I'm really blown away by the story generator on photo app. The phone index ALL the contents and can understand it. It understand so well that it can generate a story by your asking... All on device 🤯🤯🤯 I don't think someone has already done something like this...

    All this makes me sad to see how haphazard & unfocused Google's implementation of Gemini has been so far. In theory, it'd be _even more_ than Apple Intelligence could ever be with the amount of granular data Google associates with you, yet I feel like all it amounted to was an LLM button.
    Gemini's been a step backwards from Google Assistant for the most part, so from your friend entrenched in the Pixel ecosystem, I'm glad Apple is giving their AI features more time in the oven. I think it shows an actual commitment to those features and how they can enhance your life rather than riding another big industry trend. (Well, save for the AI branding; that's certainly chasing an industry trend considering their ML additions over the years have been just that.)

      i really appreciate this perspective and am curious about how Gemini has been a regression for you - has the virtual assistant on Pixel been entirely replaced?

      @2phonesbabyken 2 месяца назад

      @@uncoverage Not yet- you can swap between Google Assistant and Gemini freely- but with the LLM rumored to be the default assistant on the Pixel 9, it seems like Google is tripling down on it, and I'm not sure that's the right move.
      As for the regression, I feel like Google is putting too much weight on the LLM rather than hooking Gemini Nano into more system functions that, in turn, can be tapped into by Assistant. Nano is honestly a super impressive model; it runs locally on everything from the $450 Pixel 8a to the $1200 Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it's multimodal to boot. It's a shame Google is doing such a poor job of surfacing its capabilities to the user, even if it might not be as powerful as Apple Intelligence.

    did you seen the eye tracking accessibility feature? I which one day the iPhone will naturally know what i mean when i say "siri what's this?"

      yes! pretty cool tech. totally possible, and the real killer app will be when it’s integrated with Apple Vision Pro
