ABOUT MY CHANNEL:
Hello there! My name is Fernanda and I started putting together Capsule Wardrobes for Project 333 back in 2015. Since then, I have completely rearranged my closet and now have a minimalist wardrobe, and I dress from a base of 15-piece capsule wardrobes every season that I put together with a simple capsule wardrobe formula. If you're looking to learn how to put together a capsule wardrobe, how to style a few pieces for many different occasions, or how to include color and bold prints into your wardrobe, then I'm here to help!

Annette here. Yes! Show us what's in your wardrobe kit!
Yes! I would love to see your wardrobe kit :)
Happy 100th. Wishing many more!
Thank you!!! 🥳🥳 May it be so!
Looking so wonderful in your new colors and lipstick! Great ideas, thank you!
Wow congratulations 🎊
CONGRATULATIONS ON 100 VIDEOS!!!!
I use the wardrobe tape to keep blouses in place at work so I don't flash any of my elementary students. I do a lot of bending over! LOL!
I gave you a shoutout in today's video!
Happy 100th! 😁
Thank you!!! 🤗🤗🤗 We are celebrating! Who knew we would get here?
Wonderful video with so many great ideas for gifts and several things I will be buying for myself. Thank you! Also would like to see your wardrobe kit.
I have a wardrobe kit too! I call mine "the fix-it kit". It has the things you showed, plus safety pins, lint roller, stain stick, those spongy pads to put inside shoe straps and above the heel when they're too loose, scarf magnets, seam ripper and tiny scissors, clips with chains (to take in the waist of shirts and dresses), shoe shine sponge, anti-static spray, clear nail polish (to stop runs in tights)...I'm sure there are more things but those are the ones I remember without looking in the box. I house mine in a Caboodles box that I've had since before you were born, Fernanda! (I'm not kidding!)
Wow, maybe you should make a video on yours!! It sounds way more complete than mine!
@@vazq_Fernanda That's probably because I include "fixes" for shoes, as well as less common wardrobe emergencies, like static cling and skirt hemlines that are too "flighty". I have skirt weights for that! Hahahahaha!
@@irairod5160 Ok I need to see yours!! Would you share it with me somehow? either in an email or video? I think it would be so helpful. I learn so much from you!
I purchased the necklace chain extenders and love them. Being able to lengthen and use some of my shorter necklaces will be great. And thanks also for introducing House of Color. I will be giving a color consultation to our son as a gift. Thanks again!
Oh please let me know how he likes it! I wish I could take my brother to get one!
Thanks for the ideas, Fernanda! 💙
I hope people like their gifts!
Congratulations on your 100th video! We’ll done! I always look forward to your inspiring videos. Suggestions for Christmas gifts for travellers are packing cubes, thermals or a micro puffy jacket.
FELICIDADES !!!!!
Gracias madre!!! 🥰
My boyfriend got me a color analysis as my gift this year! I am very excited
Oh my god, I'm excited for you!!!
Congrats!
Thank you!!
Yay i’ve been waiting for your next post 🥳
Me too!!! I don't like it when I don't get to post :(
Are we going to see the new sweater dress and fleece tights in your winter capsule?
Do you have any holiday specific clothes? Like a Christmas sweater or Santa hat?
Any chance you might make a mini Christmas capsule? I noticed your new camisole is a Christmas green!
Yes on the clothing care kit video please! Congrats on 100 videos!
Love ALL of these comments. I'll go one by one:
-Yes on seeing the sweater dress in the winter capsule!!
-I don't have Christmas specific clothes, but I do have Halloween specific clothes.
-Let me see what I can do. Funny how color has that effect right?? It's one of my newly discovered WOW colors, but with the lipstick it screams HOLIDAY!
-Wardrobe kit noted!!
And thanks for the congrats!! 🥳🎉
I'm still watching the video but I had to pause it and write down what you had said, "The more you in invest in basics, the more you're going to actually get out of them because you wear them a lot. They last us longer and they actually have the ability to elevate our wardrobe." I struggle so much with investing in my pieces but when I think about those shirts that I've replaced who-knows-how-many-times, I could've just invested in quality first!
That's EXACTLY right! It sounds counterintuitive but you get more value for your money that way. And think about how different a silk vs cotton cami looks - makes a big difference with very little effort!
@@vazq_Fernanda Not only how it looks, friends...how it FEEEEEEELS! I used to buy cheap and buy lots. Now I buy less, but buy better. And I tell you what, when you know the cami you're wearing was, say, $50, instead of $5, you are more careful in how you wash it and store it, so you end up having it much longer, appreciating it for its entire useful life, and feeling amazing in it because it looks and performs like the special item it is.
Do you data on how long a "regular" tshirt lasts? I am so curious? I just bought $60 (omg, still shaking) T shirt from The classic t shirt company (organic cotton, fare trade certification, us made etc) and I have started recording the wear. But I can not recall how soon I had to replace my other T shirts. If you have some thoughts, please let me know. Of course I am very happy about sustainability of it right off, but wear is still very critical. Thank you.
@@Marsolan I've had t-shirts that looked ratty after 2 washes, and the ones that cost between $10 and $20, last about 3 months if I keep them in heavy rotation...in my experience, poorly made shirts often have the seams unravel, lose structure at the neckline and sleeves, shrink unevenly, fade, pill badly, or stain in a way that cannot be remedied. I've had good luck with the "premium cotton" ones from Lands End and LL Bean. They are usually a little more than $20 but less than $60, and they wash well for at least 3 seasons without fading or losing shape. Some of mine are at least 4 years old, but that's because I treat spots immediately, wash them in cold water, and hang them to dry (no hot dryer heat). However, these are not organic, if that's a crucial determination for you, perhaps looking into Everlane would be a good idea.
@@irairod5160 thank you!!! Good to know. Let's see how my $60 shirt does:))) I like the cut, its has deep V neck and shorter hem line, so I like this a lot, but wear is important. We will see.
Great video!!! Happy 100th and yes, please do wadrobe essentials kit. Making that kit for someone should be great gift when you need a more substantial one. Also, I am going to the house of color on dec. 3 rd. I absolutely can not wait!!!! Thank you!!!
You're right!! The whole kit would be a great gift!
OMG you HAVE to comment back or email me to tell me how your color appointment went, I'm so excited for you!! Do you have a guess of what season you may be?
@@vazq_Fernanda thank you for your excitment for me :))) I think I am "Spring" just because I love bright colors on me. But, if I think about it, I look good in bright universal collors (red, blue, yellow). I truly do not think I can judge myself correctly and when I asked my friends, I get totally opposite reactions, so I might be very surprised. I am light and losing my colors, so to speak ;) but I still think muted color wash me and come alive with bright reds and yellows, but many people around me say that soft colors are.more harmonious. So, I can not wait :))))🎨🎨
@@Marsolan Wow, so much to think about!! Ok please let me know next Friday how it went!! I'm dying to know!
@@vazq_Fernanda its official, I am bright spring. I absolutely love it. I had so much fun, I can not stop smiling. The Louise at San Diego office had scarfs for sale in seasonal colors, so I grabbed 3 as I think it's a quick way to introduce your power colors. LOVE IT. I told Louise that you were my final push to go. So happy!!! Can not stop smiling. Thank you, winter!!!❤💃❤
@@Marsolan I had my colours done end of November and found out I'm a deep autumn. I had before waited to buy some new basics because I wanted to make sure they were the right colours. I just bought some basic longsleeve shirts and I love wearing them everyday!! It makes me so happy and it takes hardly any effort to look good. I am totally with you both on the colour high :)
Hi Fernanda, Thank you for yet another great video. I would love to see what's in your wardrobe kit! Congratulations on your 100th video & wishing you all the best. 😊
Thank you Fay!!
How do you wash silk?
I do it by hand (I have a video on that!) but a lot of silk nowadays is 'washable' which means you can throw it in the washing machine, gentle cycle, in cold water inside of a mesh bag, and lay flat to dry!
@@vazq_Fernanda Thanks for the tip!
#question to Fernanda
I have question about your wardrobe after color analysis: Are you going to update your autumn capsule wardrobe or there is no sense due to incoming winter season? Are you going to update your "wardrobe" on pinterest?
Btw today's video is so interesting 💛💚💙
I did not update the fall capsule - since all the colors of the tops were in my colors, they stayed the same! only the bottoms were off, and those are not that bad because they don't sit near my face.
I have not been updating my wardrobe on Pinterest because I've been using OpenWardrobe, and a feature coming soon is that I'll be able to 'Open' my wardrobe to you there!
To all the other vegans/animal-lovers out there… silk involves boiling/steaming the silkworms to their death for the production of the silk thread… and cashmere can hurt the goats skin during shearing (leading to skin infections). If shorn in winter the goats can die from cold stress. Natural alternatives for vegan silks are widely available now, which are just as luxurious, also breathable, and don’t harm animals (like ramie, modal, rayon, cupro, tencel/lyocell, spider-web silk, lotus-stem silk, orange-skin silk and plenty more!!) 💝✌️🕉
Thank you, some of the ones you mentioned I won't buy because their production harms the environment and humans in other ways, BUT we all should research and consider alternatives to materials that may harm voiceless but clearly sentient creatures. We need to do better, that's for sure! I appreciate the kindness and fairness with which you made your point.
Yes, tencel and cupro are great. I own some and I love it!! I have not seen others, if you know of a sustainable company that offer them, please let us know. It's a balance, I know. So many things to consider : animals, garments workers, environment etc and info is not that readily available:))))
@@Marsolan Yes for sure it is always a balance. And as Irai said above, some are harmful to the environment. It’s always a juggle.
No specific brands I can recommend, sadly. The lotus-stem silk produced in Cambodia is extremely promising, but still unaffordable due to the process being all hand-made. The time and labour involved is extreme, until the ladies can afford to buy machinery.
There are some ingenious materials being made from all kinds of things now… from banana skins, mushrooms, pineapple skins… things that we might otherwise consider waste. Same as the lotus stems. Until they are mass-produced, however, they are unaffordable for the average person.
Bamboo is a wonderfully eco-friendly plant, but the fabric it produces wears through due to its softness at an unfathomable rate. Making any bamboo-derived fabric eco-friendly, but lacking longevity. Not ideal.
I agree, tencel/lyocell is fantastic!! I had a dress made from it many moons ago and it was so soft on the skin, and so durable! If anyone else has any brand recommendations for eco-friendly AND animal-friendly materials, please comment below for all of us!!! 🤗😇💖
