WOW ! When the guitar and amp first came out the guitar retailed for $8,000. The amp and full stack which is what Jimi Hendrix used in 1967 is an exact duplicate listed for $10,000. At the time of it's release. That is some gift my friend. I don't play guitar but I always wanted that guitar.

@@gsdfan8455 ...exactly, and for not taking the time, or perhaps not having the opportunity, whatever the reason, we are all of us (I'm 60) the much poorer for it....but then we have had many decades to recognize a great musician, such as Mr. Johnson, when we experience his magic....

I'm impressed that it's a gibson tremolo that don't knock out of tune after three times of use. That's some major juju!!
Justin so well demonstrates, it's not the chops or technical ability that matter - it's how one plays with feeling, touch, emotion and taste. LESS, so often, truly is MORE. Contrasts in textures, tone, volume, and dynamics, creatively deployed - it all adds up to what separates good guitarists from great ones - those more interested in making interesting, quality music, as opposed to those whom are all about showing off their chops (musicianship vs. athleticism).
