the best thing about Norm’s is that he is as nice to the regular guy as he is to rockstars. he is really great and friendly to everyone. he genuinely wants to get you connected with an instrument that makes you happy for a lifetime. i love that shop.

If I could play those 6 notes (towards end of video) and make them sound like that, I would die a happy man. But seriously - I met Joe in the Vintage Room of GC Hollywood in 2010. He chatted with everyone shopping there like he knew us all. Even complimented me on the sound of the 60's ES-330 I was playing. I couldn't afford to buy it, but I still smile when I think about that day. The man could not have been nicer.

Saw BB play several songs in pouring rain and lightening; the man would not stop. I think it was 1994 in Miami. His crew literally had to drag him off the stage with a standing ovation.. Mr King. raised you well Joe, He said the same thing as you. " you folks came to here me play and thats what I am going to do."

My friend Joe P, who was a photographer for Palm Springs Life Magazine, had a 1958 Gibson Flying V.
He acquired it from a kid that did not know what he had but wanted something more like a Telecaster
or a Strat. He traded Joe and the rest is history. Joe did some research and found out his Flying V was
the 11th V produced that year.

The days of coming across a guitar that the owner isn't aware of it's worth is pretty much over thanks to the internet. But talk about a lucky find! One of the rarest guitars ever made. 200 originals and best accounts is that around only 80 or 90 survive today or are known currently. If I had a 59 burst or something of that nature and was ready to part with it. I know that I would feel a lot better about selling it to joe because
    #1-he’s joe bonnamassa
#2-you know it’s definitely going to a good place.

Speaking of how Joe Bonamassa is as a person.... My wife and I saw him at the Ryman last year. Well into the show, a great show, he needed a sip, so signaled for a drink. One of the crew took him a diet coke, he opened it and took a sip, then put the cap back on it and sat it down. Sometime later, he wanted another sip. When he reached for the bottle sitting on the riser behind him, he knocked it over, so that when he did get it and loosened the cap, it sprayed him down. He wiped his coat and guitar with his towel, and continued the show. After the show and after the bows, everyone was leaving the stage.Joe walked over to the riser, picked up his towel and cleaned up the coke from the riser and the stage.... I told my wife "this really speaks to what kind of person Joe Bonamassa really is"... I still think about that everytime I see some "star" with their entitled "better than you" attitude....thank you Joe Bonamassa..

Really liked the part about how Joe kept playing in the mist to give his audience their money's worth (so long as he didn't get zapped!). I actually had a similar experience, you guys would laugh - - The only time I ever had a gig a partner and I got through an agent. My so-called partner never made it clear to me exactly what role I was to play. He just wanted to keep me in the background without any thought for what I could contribute to the whole of it. The gig was at a university. It was a special evening, we had been billed, the whole 9 yards. While on stage I realized the people had paid good money for some entertainment and I didn't want to let them down. I backed him up for a couple of tunes then it was starting to get boring. I had an opportunity to have more of an exchange with the audience, so I improvised a little instead of just hanging in the background. I was trying to work with him and have a little fun with both him and the audience, but he did not like it. I honestly didn't mean anything badly, was just trying to give the audience their money's worth. The audience loved it! But not my partner. Oh well - lol! Looking back now I still laugh. I know the audience at that gig still does, too, and no one regrets having paid too much for a lackluster evening.
