Afterall, kids will watch things that they can understand and find funny more than the others. Animes like shinchan, doraemon and Pokemon were way bigger threat to indian animators than any other,infact just look at the popularity of these animes in India, they have been at top in terms of trp when it comes to any cartoon for the last 10-15 years in India the sole reason why they banned conan was because of its mature and violent content,where almost every episode had murder and death

. Detective Conan was highly underated despite its 57 episode short run in India. To Till this day i watch this show , Its currently on 1003 Episode , How far we Have came...but its heart breaking not to have this show telecast in India....It had the best opening and ending theme song in Hindi in all of the animes + Best Storyline which is still going on and Show of HIGH IQ.

The difference between L and conan is that 'L' is more focused on kira's identity rather than how victims were murdered, on the contrary conan focused more on cause of death, and usually the suspects are around him. Conan's investigation ways are more relevant but isn't enough to find kira.
L chose a different perspective on kira's case to find him by focusing on his identity. That idea might not go by conan's mind.
But L's idea was rather stupidly smart as everyone needs a face and a name if he intends to kill.
Conan would say it was an organisation but L was firm on the matter saying he was alone.
Both of their investigation series have flaws ofc, as evidence is planted by writers, but again, both are great series .

L knew that he would never catch the killer by focusing on the cause of death alone, that's why he chose that way of solving the case (or it might seem like it as we've not seen L solve any other case) ; rather Shinichi kudo was dependant on it, though not completely. Shinichi might have solved it in a different way. Shinichi might be a kid now, but still, under estimating his ability might be stupid as well.
In my opinion, L was focused on the betterment of society by punishing Kira, for this L did some unlawful things (like intensionally putting a criminal in deaths way just to find clue about how Kira kill someone) which is understandable as any government or power holders would do to catch a criminal mastermind.
But in the case of Conan, he doesn't do any unlawful thing to catch any culprit and also for most of time the clues are presented in an obvious ways like there is not any deep thinking required to solve 40 percentage of cases.
I believe Detective Connan is focused on teaching some basic and decent criminal's thought processes and things we should be aware of about crimes. No doubt they have some awesome cases.
In case of Death Note, it's about criminal mastermind investigation and thoughts of brilliant minds

Starting episodes were intense in blood and horrors. Now it just feels like puzzle solving. Anyways its a great series and one of the longest running anime. I still remember that bandage man episode

remember the moment when L planted surveillance cameras, he did a mistake by not going there himself for this task and as far as it goes for Conan
He'd have gone there himself and figured out the door handle trick of light and as far as his observation goes he could've found the desk with death note sooner or later there
Also he was shrunken to a kid so it's not his face and neither his name (CONAN) so death note wouldn't work on him

But in my opinion Detective Conan based on real word or death note is based on supernatural power but still if Conan find light as Kira somehow mouri kogoro will be ended up to killed by light even Conan do her deduction against light there is no way light could figure out that Conan is shinichi and ended up to write Conan edogawa in book so who knows what happen if they crossover ?

It was one of my fav - if not one of my most favourite. I was not much into cartoon watching. I remember searching it back in 2007 but could never find any of the seasons before it stopped showing it in India. I loved it so much but was the most disappointed when it didn't show thereafter. Children of today's age will never know what kind of show it was. I still belt its theme song and I am 24 now. I don't care - it was a legend show and will always remain that way for me. One of the main reasons I started looking into manga and anime.
Wow! So happy to see lots of anime fans here(although I seriously doubt do actually watch anime judging by what they speak). I canmot believe so many people.actually do watch Detective Conan. We all remember that Hangama Detective Conan show. You are quite right about the problem of Detective Conan/Case Closed in India, the time when it aired there was lesser use of net surfing especially for people living in India and kids like us so not many rather few of us knew what anime actually was so the influence of anime which was meant for teenagers did not quite work out. And DC is a Shonen and only kodoumine anime like doraemon and Shin chan worked in before they thought they should rather start there own idiotic meaningless cartoons to improve the indian animation industry. By the way you totally forgot to mention the awsome 23 movies it has till date. Yes coming to your questions, killing and blood were in some cartoons that were quite famous and worked in India like the Dragon Ball franchise, the DC Comics shows of Batman and the Justice League also have a potential amount of violence in it. Next on there is the Death Note question. Most of the people have confused Kira(Light Yagami) with L. Yes it is a quite debatable topic. You can also see the Watchmojo video on best detective in anime and there they have shown Conan ro be No. 2 and L to be No. 1. So eventually people talked about it. Some said that L's deductions skills are better and that his process is more real than Conan and other people said the number of cases solved by Conan surpass L by far and not only that L actually is defeated at the middle of the series. But in any case Conan was not against a killer who had something as powerful as deathnote and L is not shown to have solved a hundred of cases as Conan does with a shrunk body and without major help. So I would think Conan will have a 50% chance to beat Kira. Obviously it seems that it is more than that of L as he eventually could not beat Kira but that is because they had to continue the show. So by me L and Conan are of the same level and could stand up to kira equally and because of simple maths Light Yagami also has the same kind of intelligence. That's all. Pardon me for habit of writing a lot. Thanks for reading and loving anime.
