Lyrics:
Haven't seen you in quite a while
I was down the hold, just passing time.
Last time we met it was a low-lit room
We were as close together as a bride and groom.
We ate the food, we drank the wine
Everybody having a good time except you.
You were talking about the end of the world.
I took the money, I spiked your drink
You miss too much these days if you stop to think.
You led me on with those innocent eyes
And you know I love the element of surprise.
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart.
You, you were acting like it was the end of the world.
In my dream, I was drowning my sorrows
But my sorrows they'd learned to swim
Surrounding me, going down on me
Spilling over the brim
Waves of regret and waves of joy.
I reached out for the one I tried to destroy.
You, you said you'd wait till the end of the world.
U2 at the height of musicianship, craftsmanship, technology, Bono's voice and cultural relevancy. Nothing will ever surpass ZOOTV .
Popmart, Elevation and last two tours did in my view 😆
of any artist ever
@Druss nah.
Naw. Wide Awake in America.
As seen in Nijmegen the netherlands
Yes, that's rock-'n'-roll❤
Never got the "Edge is overrated" comments...The man is on fire in this video, fantastic playing and is up there with the best IMO.
People who say that are overrated
It's the sound that matters, not the finger speed. He never overpowers the rest of the band, and they have a true balance among pieces that is rarely duplicated, especially with only 3 instruments for most songs. Edge is sublime.
Save for the fact it’s fuel for Antifa anarchists who want nothing more than to destroy your family
Somebody wrote that he is not a virtuoso. I'm not an expert so I dunno whether he is or not. But I don't care because I know that I love listening to him and watching him playing. That's all that matters to me. If I ever met him, I'd thank him for this.
@@johngalt3969 what? 😆
Achtung Baby, definitive period of Rock and Roll. A tour that basically starts the show with the full album. Unprecedented. Such trust in their craft, in their fans.
Zoo TV Bono is the greatest rockstar this planet has ever seen.
Couldn’t agree more! Before him a John Lennon and Elton John.
OMG. The Energy... I got Goosebumps watching this. U2 are Peaking...
Bono getting it on with the TV camera, whilst singing, with a passion and a clarity, that is breath taking. Edge is sooo cool, rocking his socks off , while quietly thinking.. wtf is Bono doing now? Larry is sweating and hoping Bono doesn't go to far...
While Adam is smoking a cigarette and still managing to play base and jump on a podium at the same time.
This is why I Iove u2. They give it everything they've got, and then some... and then some more. Totally mind blowing is this. Miss you boys. 🌸
Achtung Baby is one of the top five best ever albums ever recorded, the Zoo TV tour is maybe the greatest ever tour by a Rock band. Doesn’t get much better than this.
I went to the Zoo TV concert in Detroit back in the early 90's and nothing can compare to it. Went to other U2 concerts, but they could not compare to the Achtung Baby material and the rock experience they gave at this concert. This material was after something and before something else... it had it's own place and can't be compared to anything.
Incredible! Amazing! Epic! Magic! From Brazil!
I'm jealous!!
I was at the September 9, 1992 show at the Pontiac Silverdome which included a song as part of the MTV music awards. Went to a concert and ended up on TV watched around the world. Such an amazing show!
@@ZenJD How cool... we were both at the same concert. I lived in Dearborn at the time.
For me, Achtung is the masterpiece album of U2.
There will never be a band like U2, ever!
Still feel goosebumps every time I hear this. Like the first time I heard this when I was a kid in the 90s. This is art.
Wow the quality looks so good. I hope we can see the whole concert in HD one day!
Best concert and best night in my life, me 13 years old and my father, july '93, thaks Dad❤️
Magique magnifique merci ❤
U2 Masterpiece 2022!
Awesome days. U2 at their peak.
The Edge : over the Top 😍🤩
Que c’est bon bordel! Légendaire! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Please release this whole live show. The Zoo TV interference is great but the pure unadulterated show start to end would be outstanding.
The Biggest Band Of All Time ❤️🤟🏻
Grande U2. Uma época maravilhosa do Zootv.
The zoo tv tour was the first concert I ever went to... Bar was set high.
Zoo tv tour, fantastic 👍😎✌
I'm afraid history won't remember how huge the zoo Tv tour was. Huge songs.. the band finding themselves lost in the live performances. Just brilliance. Younger kids please pay attention... it almost doesn't get better than any clip from zoo tv..
I went to a few other U2 tours but they didn't live up or compare to this . I was one of the lucky ones to witness.
Necesitamos el concierto completo, por favor......
Magic.....those were the days!!!👍🍻
thats i calll realy rockn roll.....uffffff
ZooTV II Tour kicking off in February 2022 (30 year anniversary). Must happen.
We need the "Hold me, Thill me Kiss me" official video please! It is nowhere on the internet
Those guys were on fire
Spettacolari U2....
Amazing!! 😍
Amazing song !
I saw this show at Madison Square Garden with my fiancée & I will NEVER forget The Edge!!!
happy 30th anniversary ZOOTV!
Always an outstanding incredible performance ..thanku so much love and God bless x
WOW!!!!
Zoo tv 😎👍 just unbelievable✨
I still have this on VHS...... 🤣
So do I! 😁
Upload to you youtube mate
I don't have mine anymore. Even worse is I recorded Zoo Radio off of, well, the radio back then on a high quality bootleg cassette. No clue what happened to it, I wish I could share with the world now.
@@estigia It's out there with all the analogness of VHS media.
Amor eterno U2 💞💞💞💞
Probably the best bass solo ever! Thanks guys!✨💜-Eugene
Muito legal rever uma bela arte como essa, aqui é Brasil
❤U2❤
I remember this from the 90s. MTV.
Can’t wait !!! One of U2’s finest !!!
This is where U2 hit peak in their career -
A return to the ZOO that comments on the horrific state of affairs we’re in now with social media is the only thing that will draw me back to these guys now.
BARAK OBAHMA IST SUPER !!!
Another one, I’m ready
Despite the Zoo TV anchor saying “we’re at the highest point of the arena …,” this performance was at Yankee Stadium, August 1992, as was most of the footage from the ZooTV special broadcast on Fox. I wish to hell they would just release the full show from Yankee Stadium. No McPhisto on this leg of the tour.
Please remaster this show!
REAL MACKOY🎉🎉 KOY
Question for Bono and Edge: “What does it feel like to be great?” Bono: “ It’s like jumping off of 30 story foot building and discovering you can fly.”
💖
Ireland's #1 export product... after Tullamore Dew, of course 😉
🤩🤩❤️
La fin du monde pour moi était la mort de mon petit frère, vous faire écouter chacune de vos chansons préférées de mon frère en coma
👏👏👏👏
Mysterious ways next?
😃😃😃
The first 30 seconds proved to be really prophetic, in relation to the social media, information overload era.
That tour was way ahead of its time.
It’s not like the problem is new, just now everyone is noticing it
@@Neucod55 True but I love how U2 noticed it in 1991
I have to admire the guy for being able to do it so perfectly.
The recent chatgpt meltdown was basically that bit
This is the Bono I will always remember. Rock’n roll. Old age is a drag.
Me too. I respect them, but no man can do this after 50 .
He still sings ok but the interpreter at this level of energía and pasión..no way.
Good we have this videos and can all enjoy them.
🫂
ONE THING has impressed me in VEGAS.
The Live versión of SO CRUEL.
🍀🍀
Agreed.
At his peak (here) - 2nd to none.
Everyone gets older, even you 😌
'Achtung Baby' is in the pantheon of Rock and Roll, a blast of unbelievable genius
We need Who's gonna ride your wild horses.
Based on the order they are going, that must be next
hi Cool End Times My Soul comes First
I want too
Pretty sure they’ll get to that ASAP.
Love it. Please please remaster the whole of Outside Broadcast, it would be amazing! :)
I agree but edit out the zoo tv interference
@@ericferguson3825 no that’s the whole point
Preach!
Oh yes !!! It would be great to have an outside broadcast DVD / Blu-ray edition of this gig with subtitles for most countries. Think about it for the early fans folks 😁😉
Yeeeeees please!!!
I remember walking home from this concert, I think I Was numb for a week or so. That stage was completely 'out of controle', waaaay ahead of it's time and unmatched since... My best concert ever !
Lucky you!
Geniuses they are. Magic.
Only in the usa it worked as a TV station and a rock show .because of costs it became a rock n roll show. TV is not really part of the coulter in Europe and Australia new zeland and Japan. I seen it in Dublin in1993 twice
Incredible- I wish I could have been there.
I remember the stage as well. I saw them at Dodger Stadium. That was my second concert I went to. The first was DM
Bono has an amazing voice! What a singer. Who else can sing like that today? Nobody.
Not even him, unfortunately
ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived! I KNOW there's some filmed ZooTV concerts out there that could be upscaled for 4k - here's the proof. Bring it home lads. I did just come here to watch TV Ya'll
I must have watched this 100 times back then, no joke.
I think I did to😀
I watched it a thousand times, I guess it's the only performance that makes you feel you're in there.
Me too. Why isn't that guy doing the news?
Igual yo = Me too
If I had a dollar for every time I watched this track since Outside Broadcast was originally aired, I'd be a very wealthy man..
One of the greatest songs of all times!
U2 Until The End of The World
U2 The Fly
U2 11 O'clock Tick Tock
Live - Lakini's Juice
Live - Iris
Live - TBD
Audioslave - Like A Stone
Totally agree with you. The moment I heard this song is locked in my core memories. 16 driving down the road and this song came on the radio…. Changed everything for me…
The Greatest Rock'n'Roll Song of All TIME
NO, The Greatest ONE.
Like I wanted to see Bono's crotch! That was a cheeky move. 😳
Edge's guitar solo is out of this world !! So magical !! So magnificent !!
Masterpiece !!!
And also the guitar line that he plays on the verse, while Bono is singing. That’s an incredibile thing!!! Two melodies (vox and guitar), mixing together that way. 💥
Try and get the 360 tour version it's even better again !
Edge and bono one
It was legendary in person!!!!
“IS THIS ROCK N ROLL??”
You bet it is.
This is why U2 chose this as one of the few songs that they performed when they were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Yes, it is. At the same time, thematically it's so much more than rock-and-roll. Also, in their concerts, this band has pretty consistently elevated rock-and-roll as an art form over the last several decades.
outside broadcast for me has their best ever live zoo tv recordings would kill for the rest of that show to be available they were on fire 🔥
Search for U2 - Dublin 28/08/1993 - Multicam + soundboard --- the camera work is awful (all fan cameras), but the sound is sooooooooo good!
The outside broadcast tho' I recorded it off the TV way back when is on one of the DVDs that came with the 10 disc Achtung Baby 20th anniversary box set.
Great performance and there must have been twice the number of cameras compared to Sydney
@@GTTeancum I recall dublin was brodcasted to radio and Bullet the Blue sky from that concert is actually on a single.
@@jules153 yeah the Outside Broadcast was a much bigger scale than Sydney….I really hope they are at home reinventing this tour as their next one…
ALL OTHER BANDS eat your hearts out.., THIS is how it's done!
Give us the complete show from 1992
Yes!!
Señores el primer en vivo remasterizado de Zoo Tv en la historia de U2 en You tube!!
That's true!!
A ver si hay más, muchos más.
Love is blindess video remastered please.
Sorry but what video do you think about exactly?
@funko freddie & co Isn't there one on the Interference VHS tape that looks similar to the Until The End Of The World video? Haven't watched it for ages but I'm sure there's a video for the song on there.
there is no official video of this song.
@@bumblebity2902 No, in achtung baby 20 years anniversary super deluxe ( 6 cd +4DVD) , there is this video in second dvd ( achtung baby+zooropa video collection).
@@bumblebity2902 The video I was referring to has just been uploaded in HD.
When I was losing everything I had only U2 drive my soul , many thanks to the band
Yes, I would have rank Edge's solo as arguably one of best live solos in Rock history. But, damn, the supersonic Bo Diddley riff at the end.....brilliant!
Zoo tv tour is and will stay best rock tour ever! All bands included! No discussion....
During this period they could do no wrong.
Yes they could. They released 'Zooropa' - which was almost completely ignored by the general public...
@@Johnny6666 Stay, one of the most beautiful songs they ever released, was on Zooropa, so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it as a fumble. I think Zooropa was more a result of the artistic courage that defined the early 90's and with this, an indifference towards public reception. I would put Pop in this category as well. After Pop, I think that they begin to care more about commercial reception than artistry and the music suffers. This begins the Apple embarrassment, it brings us the "uno dos tres, catorce..." era of cliched lyrics and songs that increasingly feel as if they were produced by an algorithm.
@@Johnny6666 I liked zooropa
@@cvachon7 I like 'Zooropa', too - it's quirky and interesting (even if the second half is slight on solid songs). However, it was a failure by U2's lofty standards (both commercially and creatively). It's neither a blundering misstep nor an overlooked masterpiece: it's just, in the grand scheme of all things U2, a somewhat underwhelming, albeit competent, detour. U2's attitude to the album is suggested by it's near total absence in setlists since 1993 (except for 'Stay'). A simplified and very slight version of 'Zooropa' made an interesting (and welcome) return on the 'Innocence and Experience' tour, but the album today is a nebulous blip on U2's radar (a 1990s counterpart to U2's 'October'...)
_Rattle and Hum_ .
is it just me or anyone else feeling tingly from this song?
U2 were an unstoppable force between Joshua tree and achtung baby.
2 totally different albums, yet both masterpieces.
And they were amazing live back then aswell.
I guess you're forgetting how your unstoppable force hit a brick wall between those two albums with _Rattle and Hum_ ?
@@Robert_St-Preux rattle and hum wasn't a bad album,had some good tunes,heartland is a fantastic pure u2 tune.And all I want is you.
@@Robert_St-Preux RH does not count it was a CASH IN with some outakes o JT an live tracks
The era between 2000 and 2006 was also legendary
@@kelm95 I agree w you, another example of golden era for U2 2000-2006, yet very underrated for some conservatives fans.
Also 1983-1985 another great era War album & his tour, Live At Red Rocks, The Unforgettable Fire album & Tour + Live Aid.
I hope they post more videos of this film (or the entire film), which is simply spectacular. The greatest rock band in the world at its best.
So much respect for bands that genuinely love what they do and stick together ❤

It's amazing how much Bono's voice thinned out after this tour. It was so full here. On Popmart he sounded like a different singer and unfortunately has never regained that ZOOTV voice again.
Agreed, his voice was incredible here and during The Joshua Tree.. but smoking and vocal chord damage sadly changed his voice permanently
Realmente a voz mudou mas Bono é como vinho, quanto mais velho, melhor.
Definitely one of my favorites U2 song.
Ultra Violet Remastered is a must! 🙌❤️
Could he sing and the band play!!!
The Edge sendo incrível e Bono...uau!!! U2 forever!!!
U2 in the 90’’s. The best period of U2 !
I Will Follow Until The End of the World U2 🤟🇧🇷. Thanks The Edge for your 🎸 🔥
Just too good; their best period and not many can rival it.
@Druss nah, Page was off his tits most of the time
Is this rock and roll or what?????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"In my dream I was trying to drown my sorrows but my sorrows they learned to swim" is one of the outstanding passages of "Achtung Baby" which is magnificent.
But my sorrows their learn to swim
Achtung Baby gets better and better with age. Its the bridge between the plastic 80s into the far more experimental and lysergic early 90s. This was the best of the album and one of U2s best too.
A fantastic lyric
I have the 💿cd original cd and cassette and in the paper lyrics they read:
In my dreams I was drowning in sorrows but in my sorrows, I learned to swim. 🤔
I was at Popmart Johannesburg and it was the first time I heard this song . I still get goosebumps . That soaring guitar solo and atmosphere.....There is no band like U2.
One of things I love about this song is that at end where Bono asks, "Is this rock and roll?!?" because it is actually an inditement of everyone performing and listening to this song considering the story of the song itself.
Both in the lyrical meaning AND in the creative process backstory. 👍
So hard to pick “the” U2 song but this is one of them.
I remember when this aired on TV, Thanksgiving evening in 1992. I wore out the VHS tape that I made of it. What a great era for U2!
I watched it too while on the landline phone 📞☎️with my sister as I served in military. Good uplifting moment while being in a depressing duty. I ordered the vhs 📼tape fr somewhere in Europe and it took like 6 weeks to finally get it. When I did, it looked like someone recorded it on a blank tape put in a plastic case with a photo scan of U2 Broadcast and shipped it out. I paid like $80
It still was the best present to myself after the sting of recieving the tape 😆
@@ALSILVERU2 Awesome! That’s a great story!
