Actually, I think Andros is right with the "mouse drift stops being an issue the more you play with mouse" because for example as a 6-digit, I had problems with mouse drift on 5* maps but then I eventually got better and I got used to it, but now I'm struggling with mouse drift on 7* maps. It just basically comes with how skilled you're in playing on the mouse and overcoming the mouse drift on the specific skill cap if it makes any sense.
Also Andros is just built different. He plays with 800 DPI 0.60 sens full screen 1920x1080 resolution (very low dpi) and managed to DT FC united and he's very good at jumps

i dunno man i’ve been playing mouse for 2 years and i still experience it too much, it’s definitely just playstyle and your mouse grip (all the top players with mouse use a claw grip of their own, using their fingers to assist vertical movements instead of just using their arm and wrist like i do)
As a 6 digit my opinion may not be the best. But as someone has said here using your fingers more than wrist/hand to aim it would *greatly* reduce mouse drift.

Yeah the thing I have a problem with isn't what playstyle players prefer. It's the closemindedness and arrogance that I take issue with. When the goal is to improve why wouldn't you want to open more doors and try new things. In the case of osu that would be things like; playing with mouse, playing with tablet, trying different tapping styles, (single tap, full alt, hybrid alternating) changing your area/sens, trying different keyboard switches, figuring out your grip for your pen/mouse, creating a skin, etc. This stuff can be a bit overwhelming but since osu is an accessible game that can be personalized to a high extent, I think the user should take full advantage of that in order to be comfortable while playing. I think that finding what is comfortable for you specifically is a powerful position to be in. Because once you are comfortable you can allow your brain to focus more on improving at the game and not all the customizable factors. Spending time now to find that comfort will save a lot of time and hassle in the future if improvement is your goal. At least that's the way I see things.
So I've been playing with mouse for 8 years. I agree with what Andros says. Mouse drift is not a technology issue, it will just always be there due to the nature of how mouse movement works. As you play more and get better, it will fix itself (by that I mean you will fix it yourself subconsciously). The one other benefit of playing with mouse that I have that Andros did not mention is that your 2D aim with a mouse directly translates to 2D aim in other games.
it takes a conscious effort to create mouse drift to return you back to the comfortable area. If you understand how mouse drift works, and you're playing a map that you can aim comfortably, you can keep your mouse centered by creating mouse drift in the direction you want. If you have vertical mouse drift that's a little harder.
As a mouse player, what I like about it is that it's very easy to grip compared to tablet, and your movement is pretty much always smooth when you want it smooth and sharp when you want it sharp (my experience with tablet is that I was always shaking).
Recently got into OSU! I have a messed up wrist and holding a pen or stylus with quick movements is hard for me but mouse is a bit more doable. If playing on mouse don't worry about mouse drift and use the highest sens that you are comfortable with :)
When I used to play with mouse I always try my best to move it straight and not turn it like the demonstration in the video so I can at least keep my mouse in the same position every time.
i use my arm and fingers for horizontal and vertical movements respectively. then I use my wrist to try to keep the mouse always at the same angle. this gets rid of 80% of mouse drift, and it becomes so easy to manage that you can do it without trying.
Been playing mouse for 8 years. Just move the mouse in a way that it stays as upright as possible. I'm still not perfect at this so I have to re-adjust from time to time but I never found it to be a limiting factor for me. It's always something else that causes me to fail.
I've always wanted to try tablet, but as someone with not a huge amount of money it's too big of a risk for me. I'm a left handed writer, but I use a mouse with my right hand, meaning that getting a tablet forces me to either use a pen with my right hand, or tap with my right hand.. Would be fun to try it for the purposes of science but I can't justify spending money when I might hate every aspect of it lol
As someone who struggled with 3.5 stars not too long ago (got C’s and had to focus), with a primary factor as to why being mouse drift, I actually found a somewhat ok solution. I just use my fingers so I don’t have to move my whole hand around. Now, I can beat 4 stars(rarely).
@@piersonm5574 they matter for... What, exactly? Pp? Just enjoy the game, as long as you play a diverse set of maps you'll be fine. Out of my own experience if you play a star range until you're comfortable with it (aka effortlessly passing, being able to just play on auto pilot without struggling), then jump to a higher star range, once you get used to the higher star and you go back to your previous range you'll have high accuracy and some FCs easily. It just comes naturally as your skill improves, it doesn't matter how you get there, either by mastering a range or (reasonably) increasing the difficulty of what you play.

Been using a tablet for 2 months. I played mouse for 6 months and I really wanted to keep doing it but the drift was unbearable so I got a tablet and I started improving faster and the game became more fun with an unique input method that no other games I play use. I used to be worried that all my years of using a mouse for gaming was going to waste but I got the hang of tablet surprisingly quick and I'm already much better with tablet than I ever was with a mouse. Just my experience :)
I recently switched to tablet and my aim has become faaar better but my hand hurts all the time. With mouse I could play 4 minute maps and it would never hurt but with tablet it starts hurting after like the first 30 seconds. Is this something that will go with time or am I doing something wrong?
Try not to press so hard, or if you're gripping to avoid pen slip then wrap it in grip tape or even masking tape. Also, if you play more it hurts less. Your hand muscles can be trained, just be careful if it's your wrist that hurts
Mouse drift is literally not a problem. Just increase total play area or reduce active play area... or rotate your mouse less. People don't switch from mouse to tablet because of mouse drift, but because they falsely believe tablet is better, for no reason.
As a mouse player tbh im garbage cuz like my friends atm play with tablet and in personal opinion i think that like *Itll take longer to do what they do, and we all play 5* stuff, they just do better jumps* (while i personally went for streams) Idk i heard about that nyanpotato is a mouse player idk i dont really know about sou community so i think theres still hope for mouse players but yeah personal choice is the key
mouse drift stops being a problem when you incorporate it into your playstyle. there are so many different ways to negate mouse drift that movements made by a mouse player would be completely unique to that player, and tablet has some similarities in that regard too. for me playing with a tablet is less fun, and I've played with it for 2+ years. so it really does just come down to preference.

mouse drift only happens if you have one of crappy expensive viking model o's or smth like fricking everyone has
I think it's weird to play osu with a mouse because I started on tablet. I got a tablet before I started osu and was like oh people use tablet to play this game I should try it out and it just always felt more natural to use tablet in osu over mouse.
i switched off of mouse because i was getting terrible pain in my fith finger it felt boken when i played for too long
I just used visual tablet for like 4 to 3 days and the pen i made sucked but i had so much fun and i was so comfortable playing with it so i suggest people to try it before buying a tablet it may help
Dawg I’ve used mouse for years and didn’t even know this existed. I just fucking NA brained
if you are experience mouse drift a lot, play with high sens
make the high sens to your perfect movement for your muscles
im playing osu for 1 year (exact) i've had that issue for first 3 months and after i started using high sens, its no longer issue but there is an new issue that CLOTH mouse pads are sticking and slowing down when the hand is sweaty, that makes me choke at most of the times
kinda late to this comment, but have ya thought about glass mousepad? i use skypad 2 XL and i honestly will never switch back to the filthy cloth pads
@@NamelessDemon_ i can reply any time you want :D
no i never tried glass pads (i cant afford) but currently using chinese non branded waifu pad and its much better than any cloth mouse pad i've ever used
currently on 800DPI 1.20x sens and its pretty good tho
nice vid, enjoy game
Why does no single mouse player tell the fucking secret skill? Learning to readjust aka LIFT your mouse to a more comfortable position at a calm section of the map?! It is simply another skill one has to acquire, but many don't because it is tough-
Mouse drift wasnt really a problem for me since I have a high dpi its barely even moves from my mousepad.
I really like your video quality, not the best but damn it's so entertaining also the memes too 😅
The only thing i use tablet is not that mouse (i use mouse with right hand) has mouse drift, but that i am a left handed with that in mind i think i should have better aim so i use tablet instead and i found that i aim faster with tablet.
Disclaimer tapping with your weak hand is not fun 😤
ive been playing mouse only ever since i started playing and i never had any issues with mousedrift lol
i have been playing mouse for a long time now and i also dont get what mouse drift is (im a clickx player)
interview with nanoya
when
why didnt you interview NyanPotato or Arnold24x24 who are better mouse players?
you ask 50 mouse players for a interview and i bet you only 3 will say yes
yo this is old lmao. Anyways i achieved better than avg aim in any game i play almost instantly having the exact same sens in EVERYTHING i do with my mouse, even windows, also sticking to the same mouse for the last 5 years has helped, I have the g502 lightning :D nice vid
if only i can have a spare tablet of yours. id switch from mouse to tablet instantly
I switched to tablet because I was having trouble with drift but after not improving for a month I switched back and suddenly I never had a problem with mouse drift again at like rank 700k
could mouse drift not be comparable to pen grip slowly loosening over time?
i started off using a offbrand stylus on a macbook touchpad
why at this hour though
why not
I play 3k dpi so mouse drift is non existent but I have issues with losing grip
Mother of lord that's a lot
@@gamer_bro1234 it is indeed
i have been playing osu with an mouse with an book the size of my hand doubled height and 1 hand stretched width and i had an huge problem with mouse drift untill i got used to it and now mouse drift is useless towards me
"Why are you reading this"
"Do not read this"
You do not command my ADHD sir
Not even I, have control over myself
once again the answer is to just play more.
"Your playstyle is not the reason youre not improving" yeah, but i would say playing mouse only (like i do) kinda does slow it down a bit compared to mouse and keyboard or tablet
Arnold is ranked #6 and Nyanpotato #8, all of them are mouse players , use low edpi and have set 1k pp plays. So in the end is preference
@@TheAnarchist99 i dont mean just mouse players i mean literally clicking circles with just the mouse, no keyboard.
there are some insane mouse-only players out there! you can get really good :D
@@hatster401would be interesting to know if you still play osu and if yes do you still play Mouse only and how did it work out?
I played with mouse for 3 months because my tablet broke i never experience mouse drift
??? Thats what mouse drift is? That doesn't exist...
it took me a year to get used to mouse and im still bad at the game 😨😨
Been using a tablet for 2 months. I played mouse for 6 months and I really wanted to keep doing it but the drift was unbearable so I got a tablet and I started improving faster and the game became more fun with an unique input method that no other games I play use.
I used to be worried that all my years of using a mouse for gaming was going to waste but I got the hang of tablet surprisingly quick and I'm already much better with tablet than I ever was with a mouse. Just my experience :)
LETS GO
Exact same thing happened to me
imagine not playing touch smh
Pog video
Ive never experienced mouse drift wtf
I recently switched to tablet and my aim has become faaar better but my hand hurts all the time. With mouse I could play 4 minute maps and it would never hurt but with tablet it starts hurting after like the first 30 seconds. Is this something that will go with time or am I doing something wrong?
try a different grip! sometimes the grip you choose ends up straining ur hand and wrist
You should try adjusting the angle and the grip, it’ll also take a while to get used to
Grip and probably your area is too small/big for you
Try not to press so hard, or if you're gripping to avoid pen slip then wrap it in grip tape or even masking tape.
Also, if you play more it hurts less. Your hand muscles can be trained, just be careful if it's your wrist that hurts
WHY DOES THIS MAN HAVE SO MANY TABLETS?
I played with tablet for a while but i generally preferred playing with mouse
I’m not really effected by mouse drift for the reason of I have 1800 dpi so I don’t move my mouse much
Mouse drift is literally not a problem. Just increase total play area or reduce active play area... or rotate your mouse less.
People don't switch from mouse to tablet because of mouse drift, but because they falsely believe tablet is better, for no reason.
As a mouse player
tbh im garbage cuz like
my friends atm play with tablet and in personal opinion i think that like
*Itll take longer to do what they do, and we all play 5* stuff, they just do better jumps* (while i personally went for streams)
Idk i heard about that nyanpotato is a mouse player idk i dont really know about sou community so i think theres still hope for mouse players but yeah personal choice is the key
Nyanpotato is actually a mouse player and he's better at jumps than 99.999% of tablet players lol
Nyanpotato is a God at streams and jumps
every point he made was true
I used mouse for 8 days of play time, then played tablet for 8 days.
My hand craps to much on tablet so I’m a mouse player now 🧐
Fun fact: if you click ctrl+a in osu you can enable auto mod
i became a tablet player because my aim in fps games went 📉 when i used mouse
Well logically if i write with the left hand i should not try the pencil cause its for right hands. Or should i try anyway
tablets work for left handed people too!
mouse drift stops being a problem when you incorporate it into your playstyle.
there are so many different ways to negate mouse drift that movements made by a mouse player would be completely unique to that player, and tablet has some similarities in that regard too.
for me playing with a tablet is less fun, and I've played with it for 2+ years. so it really does just come down to preference.
true! for me tablet looked more fun and thats why i ended up sticking with it
I play with mouse and i saw that longer i play my mouse moves and i thought it must be mine 7yo mouse issue xD
I’m a mouse player because I play the game casually and don’t see the need to buy a tablet.
what if u have high sesnse n dont use urr arm but u use ur finger n wrist instead
3 words, Readjust Your Mouse.
Mouse drift no exist = andros
1.5k hours on mouse. Mouse drift is not a problem, but my mouse is slipping off my hand every 150 combo. That’s a real issue (for me)
i wanna swich off of mouse cause of that
Kachulu is SO CUTE
