I play rhythm games as well, (albeit very differently from osu), and I know exactly this feeling. Best way to describe it is that it’s similar to how ultra instinct works in Dragon Ball. You are barely thinking, hardly consciously aware, and yet you’re hands flow through the melodies almost effortlessly as if you’d done it a thousand times before.
Often called flow state. You like bypass your cerebrum which normally slows shit down so you can make decisions, and just create a highway straight from your visual processing to your motor control. The potential of the human brain is actually staggering (to the human brain).
Even outside of rhythm games, getting into that flow state where your body just... *does* the thing that's most optimal is fucking awesome. No thoughts, only gaming

I'm not at all versed in any of this, but I think that might be what's referred to as "flow state." It's a method of effectively switching off or at least ignoring the part of your brain that actively makes decisions and leaning purely on the instinctive processes. You're basically on autopilot, using only the parts of your brain that handle muscle memory and sensory input. If you're not highly trained for the activity you're doing, you'll just shit the bed, but if you've got the skills nailed down to a science this state allows you to shut down any judgement processing that might get in the way and let hand-eye do all the work without any blockers.
