- With this project we are taking chain drive to the next level and seeing how well it works with 4WD and large 32" tires. I've had great success with the chain drive setup on the CBR1000 buggy so with this project I want to build it again but this time we are making it 4WD with big 32" tires and its a two seater. we are using a T90 transmission as a transfer case to give us high/medium/low range and reverse.

That frame looks so cool with that bend on the tubes for the roof
Oh yeah, nailed it, really starting to look terrific.
I have never been so excited for a build in my life! This is such an interesting series
Donn DIY
Exactly how I'm feeling about it man, super fricking cool!
Meet too, especially that part when locating where to drill those 5 holes. That was so exciting.
Pick out a car hood you like, maybe one that matches the eyebrow window frame and cut it to fit as a roof. Maybe even find two matching hoods and make a hood out of the second hood. That would look awesome to have matching body lines on the roof and hood.
Now the night is saved!
Looks sweet, you should wait before adding the rear bars because if there’s room later you should shorten the rear box behind the engine to improve your departure angle.
I love your videos and I am only 14. You are truly amazing and inspiring. I have been watching you for 4 years❤❤❤
These builds are beyond me. You have a god given talent. Can't wait to see your inevitable great success in the future.
"It won't leak", these are the mechanics favorite last wors. Ive said many times as I try to save a 80 mile round trip to town. That being said I now know the fastest ways to R&R parts and keep a stock of common parts for all my vehicles.
Love the builds, always seeing new ideas to try out.
You keep setting the bar higher and higher. This thing is gonna be badass.
Quite _literally,_ in this case.
26:54 I’d say it look pretty cool running that tube from the roof to the end of the back and it’s more functional that way and also adding the roof would tie in to the aluminum panels on the side AND I JUST WANNA SAY THE FRONT END ON THIS THIN IS BADASS 🔥
Love the look of the chassis.
You could try to make fiberglass bodypanels. Although it might not be worth the effort but it would look cool!
Yup and then spend months itching doing all the bodywork that follows
Nope do alum panels, there light weight & look fine . I do fiberglass work & it’s another can of worms that’s not necessary!
If you're considering a spare tire but you want rear visibility, why not put the spare on the roof? That would look sick🤙
that was my thoughts also.. out of the way..
roof rack with tire rack and light bar
Carrying a full size spare in a rug like this is adding extra weight, raising the cog and mostly pointless.
Many in the Suzuki 4x4 club stopped running spares years ago.
Air compressor for lockers and tyres, a patch/plug kit and basic tools.
Roof rack would be awesome. Maybe if there was a little more room behind the engine could make a place for the tire there.
Or put the tire horizontal above motor but with the ability to see under it to look backwards.. almost like squaring off the rear... give motor protection and a spare location without on roof so wouldn't be as high...
Definitely coming into shape!
The creativity and skills you have developed over the years is astonishing.
Always interesting to see your fabrication/machinist skills in action.
Put a pop-out bump over the air box, OR put a 'hip roof' type bend to the back frame part so it still clears the air box while still giving you a cool 'fast-back' look to it.
Looking awesome!! I say keep the rails down and build a short basket / rack over the engine for storage! And would protect the top of the engine.
It's amazing how you manage to do it all on your own.
And even in such a cramped workshop.
And with just a few machines.
Others buy the most expensive machines and don't manage to build such a cool car.
I think you're doing everything very well.
I can't wait to see what the car looks like in the end and how it drives.
I wish you lots of fun with it.
Many thanks for all these tutorials.
I really enjoy watching you do it.
Keep up the good work.
It's gookin' amazing! the rollbar should protect the airbox & then mount the tire over airbox. Between engine & rear frame would put gas tank. when you build the exhaust I would make it come up a rap around one set of pipes on each side of the spar tire!!!
Ha! I haven't even got passed the intro and love this episode already. More bloopers at the end of all your vids, please?
Looking great. I too like the roof idea. And it will give you extra storage space.
Chris - This thing is the bees knees when it comes to extreme off road machines !!😂
Keep up the amazing work looking forward to what’s to come - “ Your the Man “
You could put the spare tire on the roof. That way you can have good visibility behind you.
For the airbox protection you could just put a bend in the back rollcage bars to keep the steep angle but also protect the airbox
It's a pure pleasure watching you work your magic.
I love how the chassis looks... like a sports car for the dirt. 👍
You can call it boxer shorts, I dont care. I just enjoy your creativity and genius building. Keep it up!
Build a roof rack for off-road accessories and your spare tire. Would look good and you could still see out the back. Everyone’s happy. Nice work
A little trick I have learnt (really old school method of resurfacing a engine cylinder head) is use a strong flat piece of glass (glass patio table works well) tape a big sheet of sand paper and then just push forwards and backwards what you want to have a perfectly flat surface and work your way up with finer and finer sand paper
Sir for the Back Braces put in a Radius bend in the Tubing. As for the Side Rail are a little high and needs to drop Down 8” to 12” to make it Easier to get into your mini truck, put X in Roof, front end ,side ,last rear to hold your Tire. Looks Awesome Still
I think if your going to put panels over most of it you should also use a clear plexiglass for a windshield.
Слежу за твоим творчеством, культура производства шагнула далеко вперед.
Over 600k followers... and no fluff bs. This guy is for real.
Just a thought... If you mount a spare tyre on the back, this will obscure your rear view mirror, however why not fit a rear camera and have a rear view display (mirror) and you have the best of both worlds! Great videos by the way and look forward to the next one... Cheers.
Love this build as well, maybe slant that bar all the way to the bottom in the rear then the spare can be mounted lower for rear vision and also you could utilize some of the frame for coolant passages for the front mount radiator seen grind hard do that 👌☮️
I like how its coming along. Looks Great 👍 👌 👍
I would say carry the roofline a little way and then bend the steeper angle you like in the rear so it protects the engine.
Could you get away with a hood mount tire, better weight distribution as long as you can keep line of sight. And a shield/tunnel for the chain should be sufficient, PTFE or nylon guids to quiet any contact points
You've got a real challenge getting the asthetics of the frame looking right, whilst meeting all the parameters of installing all the major components of the build.
Was pleased to see that you 'pinced in' the A-pillars and added a curve to the roof rails.
I would be inclined to suggest that you add 2 more curved rails to the roof along the center line of the MTT (Mini Trophy Truck) say 6" to 8" apart to support the ali roof panel. it would also allow the option for there to be lower section in the middle of the roof (front to back) to help reduce the apparent 'mass' of the roof which might occur using a single one-pice panel.
The bends you've added to the tubing help reduce the boxiness of the MTT, which is great.
As for the rear bars from the B-pillar to the rear, maybe do as you've suggested have shorter & steeper diagonal rails from roof hoop to the side rails close to the centre, or just behind the centre of the wheels. Then that would allow you to build a removable 'engine-cage' which would have 3 benefits: 1.It would protect the engine, 2. It would give the MTT a more truck like side profile, and 3. It would allow you somewhere to mount the spare wheel like most trophy trucks.
Hope you're OK with tossing a few ideas in to the mix.
You're doing a awesome job, which must involve countless hours 'off-camera'.
👍👍
Looking Awesome. Can't wait to see it throwing rooster tails.
cant wait to see the turbo installed and see it rip!
Mad skills building the plate for the trans!!!
When building your cage make the back short, that motor will make a lot more torque with a custom intake on it, the. You can push the intake over the top of the motor towards the front of the car.
Everything looks cool but definitely take in consideration of what your cage is going to do in the event of a rollover and address the key points of stress on those areas. The triangle is definitely your friend when building a cage, function is more important than form in that respect.
The curved roof looks great! I wouldn’t change a thing about it
You can use two spare tire on the back like Dakar trucs ( with the 2 spare wheels on the same support axel )
Amazing build, I like the arch on top, I do believe the back supports look great all the way to back, otherwise it looks like a truck box sticking out. Good job
Cross bar support on top with a removable soft Top. Back bars sharp drop to horizontal to 90° drop to back. That should protect the air cleaner, provide tire mount and give the illusion of a truck bed.
For flattening a gasketed surface like that plate a large diamond stone for sharpening axes/large blades works well... cheap quick & effective.
If you want to call it a trophy truck then it is. Don't doubt yourself you are an awesome fabricator. Look forward to each Monday in oz.
X brace roof and skin with aluminum.
Looking really good so far. Anxious to see functionality with 4wd . Keep up the good work!
You could definitely do High speed digs in 4WD with a chain guard and either one huge chain guide or several small chain guides but High speed digs aren't impossible just because you're using a chain and with IFS it's really simple to build.
Roof design looks dope!
خير الكلام ما قل ودل...The best that can be said and proven without too much talk
Mount the spare on the back and use a rear view camera with a screen on the dash. It would give you another option for filming too 👌🏻
Chris, when making a hole with a hole saw, pre drill a hole (say 8mm) just inside the edge of the finished hole size. This lets the cuttings clear easier and the saw will cut faster and cooler 💪👍
Take the rear bars all the way to the back mount the tire on top protect the air box looks clean love it
Dude that front view is looking real good.
I like the shape. You could put the spare on the roof too.
Definitely will look good with an X brace and an aluminum sheet for the roof and also having the bracing for the back go all the way back covering the air box
Love the build. Yet the idea of a rear mounted spare tire of that size I likely to negate your plan for a rear view mirror. Looking at this cool build it might be worth considering adding weight to the front by utilizing the low front end to mount the tire there and the rad behind the engine down lower which would also negate the need to add more weight with a front mounted rad which requires a lot of piping for coolant.
It would look good and meet utilitarian standards. Either way I'm sure everyone will be pleased with your final build. I love this build because I have been wanting to build this 4x4 design for years but have no place to do it.
Ditch the spare tire, just keep in your trailer locked up, use if needed. Also add an "angry" bend just below the other upper bar, for the steering area etc
Personally love the longer slope at the rear, but I'm sure it'll be good whichever way you choose to position that bracing
A double bubble roof would look amazing on there, and you could capture the air in the middle and feed it down to the engine.
This is looking good.
Keep the bars long for now and cut them if it you decide later.
Looks like it will give you more options for mounting a spare tire.
Looking Good.
"That's a little terrifying..."
Welcome to the wide world of machining! 🤣
I think you should consider placing the spare tire to an easy to access location, and I think that the front hood area fits the bill nicely.
I think you should definitely run the rear tubing all the way to the back of the frame to add protection to the air box and for the spare tire it would still pretty great in my opinion
I frikkin love your hobby man. Can't wait to see this in the wild.
Yes an alum roof is good . & just do you because your doing great & I love it . We all have our options, & I trust your judgment. Keep on keeping on. You are amazing.
The rolled top looks great.
If i were doing the roof id add a 6-8" straight portion between the mean eyebrows. Then run 2 rolled bars back to the rear. Connect the front of the rolled bars to the new corners made by the straight portion up front. Then connect them to the rear about 10" from the corners. Making a kinda V shape to the roof.
I’d say put as much paneling as possible. Make the thing look finished. Part of what makes these off-road projects so fascinating is that they are covered but have beautiful cage work done. As for the back end angle for tubing, gotta protect the motor first. For where it sits the motor is too high to do the cool angle where it comes down halfway on the back end. Have it go all the way to the back bit the bullet thing. Spare tire is probably a must. Makes it look cool, capable and tough. For the rear view mirror it’s gonna be hard if you want to incorporate anything else to the back. Go with a cheap replaceable back up camera mounted right under the top of the main hoop. Or if there’s not enough room with the spare tire right at the back of the bumper. On Amazon I’ve seen em as cheap as 50$ for a little 5 inch screen. Can either engage the cam when you shift to reverse or just wire it to be on all the time. Plus you can put the screen next to the dash so it’s always where you’re looking anyway. Sorry about the long comment, it just this project has so many cool features to incorporate! Keep up the good work. Always Rather Be Welding
Looking good. The top tube of the halo hoop I think should have a matching curve in it to match the side top tubes. The angled tubes in the back would make more sense to have them go all the way to the back of the frame for protecting the motor and to mount the spare tire. As much as I prefer a notchback over a fastback, fastbacks still look awesome.
I've got to admit, I'm starting to really get behind this build! I was iffy about it at first just because of the lack of plan. The lines are really starting to take effect now! It's starting to remind me of like, the tumbler from Batman with Christian Bale!
That lathe work was sketchy as h3ll... amazing.
Roll the two bars on the back, and have a bolt on cross member (for engine removal) that the spare tire bolts onto. Less strait lines, more rolled 🙂
Do you brotha! Creativity: the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work. "firms are keen to encourage creativity"
Put the spare on the roof, put a tube in front of it for lights. Like two or four 6" or 8" lights and cross tubes
to mount the tire up there. It would look good. Looks like it's gettin heavy. Better put a V8 in it lol. I made a sand dragster
out of a TR7 with a 396 and made a chain drive transfer case, it held up good. Put a rooster of sand about 30 foot in the air behind it.
This in my opinion is the best build you have done Great job
If you move the engine forward you can have the rear tubing at a steeper angle and it will bring more weight to the center and plus you could make a trunk. All I'm seeing is bonuses there if it can be done
Doesnt matter what anyone calls it...its going to be badass.
Pretty sure the purpose of the tires on the back of trophy trucks is weight so they don't nose dive and I don't think you will have that problem without a spare on the back. The shape looks really good and it's coming together nicely.
The slightly rounded top looks great, and the sloping down Looks mean.
You should definitely do a roof but you should add a sunroof or roof escape hatch.... That would be helpful when bogged down and you don't want to or can't get out the side. Plus it would add a little more style to it whenever you can roll up on a hot day and completely open the roof for air flow.... 😎😁
Greatest metal worker on the planet IMO
I was thinking to continue the arch to the rear and then dive down to the top rear bars. Looks great.
I realy like the idea of a bowed roof , possible with more of a double bend frt and large stretch for a wind sheild !!!
I say put the tubing that is over the rear tires all the way back, just so that way it'll protect the engine a little better and I think it'll make it easier to mount the spare tire. Even then it will still look like one of those really high-end fancy trucks with a roll cage
Marvellous content as always makes my night watching your videos putting aluminium on the roof sounds great & definitely protect that engine somehow you never know a accident could happen & protection always helps your welding & metal work is phenomenal you really do some beautiful work have a blessed week take care bro 👊💨
at the rear i would go for the top bar. the rest is looking good. with cross brace in the build it will complete the look even more
You could do the full panel look, mount the spare tire to the roof like those adventure buggies, and even a plexiglass "windshield". These additions I feel would give the vehicle a more "complete" look instead of a cage with wheels. Additionally, you might be grateful for the extra paneling and windshield when rocks and dirt are being slung at you. Just my thoughts
The tubes going to the back would look good extended all the way to the end but put a 35deg bend about 9in from end. That would raise the bars up to provide more protection for the air box.
Incredible build..I might be late to the game but if it's not in the plans add ALOT more suspension travel and big shocks for a real Trophy truck
I've been watching all your videos and I'm always amazed by your works of art or how everyone else says it your builds you are an amazing person, and you always have the coolest ideas.
"We have better equitment" proceeds to hammer cardboard to get the shape. Loving the build btw
Definitely put a panel on the roof and don't worry about mounting a spare on it
Dude!! I tell you, these videos end so quick! Loving the project and progress! The idea of the roof sounds great aluminium on the roof with a roof rack! Would look mad with a Jerry can and rope and bits on top!
Looks kinda like an irs rat rod with mud grips. I like it!
You need one of the long race mirrors so you can see behind and to either side like for dirt track cars. You could also make a horizontal rail in the back so it looks like a truck bed.
You should put a bend it the rear bars. Parallel with the rear end and then bend up/out to the b pillars. Also a roof rack with the spare would be sick
This thing looks so good! Good job on everything so far this is my favorite build! 😍
I had to say this before the video ends! Im over excited for this one, it looks bad ass! I beg you put a spoiler on the back of it behind the engine when its ready. I think that would defo make it a trophy truck. Cant wait for tour first drive.
If you feel you need to carry a spare tire, you could fabricate a thin wheel and tire just for emergency use, maybe using a motorcycle tire, and possibly mount it on the front. An alternative mount might be on one side at the rear, parallel to the rear wheel, possibly on the inside of a rear frame braces.
I always look forward to a new episode...its very interesting.....speaking of which, please drop the next one ASAP 🙏...watching all the way from Nairobi, kenya
