    Works just like a gentle leader or infinity (perfect pace) setup. Those who are whining here obviously don't know what one is or the fact vets recommend and encourage this type of lead for walking dogs that like to pull. Great job.

      Besides that it's less expensive than $50 for one that does the same thing. Key is knowing how to properly install one. Base of snout and behind the ears to message the calming zone. Shown here and adjusted perfectly.

      The Petsafe brand one cut up my dogs face, without rigorous use. The company sent a replacement, that was rougher than the original. She needed vet care. Its not the best at all.

    OMG I can't thank you enough for this video!!! I am watching a 1 yr old golden retriever for my daughter - no leash training had been done and I had given up on trying to walk her until I researched this method. No time to get one, so I crocheted one this morning with mercerized cotton yarn and some handbag making o-rings. Within minutes we were taking a nice relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. When my daughter returns she can get the better quality one or get a leash like you showed in the video. You are my hero!!

    Just like any tool, it can be used to hurt the animal, even if unintentionally, or it might not be right for them. Do not use this unless your dog has good recall or doesn't try to bolt when on walks. While it is a good tool, and I use it on my parents dog, some dogs who like to bolt, especially smaller dogs, can and have snapped their necks using these, so always research how to use it correctly to avoid harm to the dog. It is a very useful tool when used correctly and on the right type of dog.

      Yes, in the case of unsafe, aggressive dogs should always be muzzled and connect the slip collar device to their regular colla,r just incase. This could be really dangerous if it came undone/lose at a dog park or near a busy road

      Tashaly Sepulveda SPORN collar/halter. Life changing. My dogs are big and HORRIBLE on leashes. I tried 10-15 different collars/leashes. The Sporn collar is amazing though because it’s soft and cushions around their armpits but if they go to pull, it automatically will pull their front legs back so it’s so life changing for walks. Instant results and you’ll be in shock. I couldn’t believe it. Not a spokesperson. Just was to the point where I hated walking them. Worth the $20-$30 bucks on Amazon. They have youtube vids too on them.

      Switch which loop you put the snout through and which you put the head through. Also, you should always have a backup leash attatched to either a normal flat or a harness when using things such as gentle leaders, prongs, slips, etc.

      @@tachibana_mansworth she was probably using it wrong. A common mistake when using these is that you pull them like you would a flat collar as a correction, but that can be dangerous. You shorten the leash and don't mess with it so that it is loose when the dog is in a heel and tightens when the dog walks out of a heel. You hold it and dont mess with it. You dont jerk it, even if the dog starts pulling. It is a self correction, meaning it corrects itself safely without you doing anything.

      Steffi Maier and collars cause thyroid damage and harnesses cause rubbing and soreness on the chest area.I'll take this any day over. the other two.My dogs walk more freely and relaxed on this.One permanently destroyed his thyroid from pulling with a collar and both hate the weight and feel and restriction of the harness and constantly try to back out of them even loose or tight don't matter.

      @pretentious panda Absolutely, I just tried it on my headstrong Weimeraner. She was uncomfortable with it for a couple of minutes, settled down and responded really well. She was wagging her tail, not something a dog being harmed would do. This is wonderful, seemingly as good as a Halti.

    • @RockinRobbins13
      @RockinRobbins13 4 года назад +2

      @@Olivia-wr5op This video changed everything about how I handle my Weimeraner. I don't use a metal ring, I tie a loop in the end of the rope. I've used it for over four months and there is no binding, no wearing on the nose or chin, nothing but a happy dog who loves to go outside on her rope.
      No, this is not properly used as a torture device to strangle your dog. If that's how it works for you the problem is with you, not the leash. A Halti is designed on the same principle and they work great. Dogs like them and this rope better than a normal chain and leash.
      All devices can be abusive, including a kennel. It's up to good owners to use their equipment properly with respect for their dog, not this rope, to make sure it's a positive experience. My dog loves it.
