Bellla - Day 1
Просмотров 479 лет назад
Bella has always been an insecure female dog that would vocalize and pull hard on the leash. She would hide whenever she heard a loud noise or see a new person approaching. Her fearfulness has resulted in her being snappy with people and dogs. This video is showing Bella's improvement after a quick session this morning (no pulling, tail in middle and high position). No food, prong or shock coll...

Look at that schmoopy great dane! I'm on my 4th! Love them
I think the order should be reversed; demonstrate it first, then do it again, then show those photo stills you had a t the front, little faster.
Awesome job 🙏👍😇❤️
What a lovely hound ❤
Still can't see it out of picture before going on the head does it make a difference which loop goes over head
So which loop goes over head or does it make a difference
BRILLIANT suggestion/idea!i!... ...& so easy to do & coolio for those emergency situ'z... not that the pooch i'm a strollin' has needed it...YET!🤭 ...but fore armed is fore warned n'all that, so i practice puttin' it on & takin' it off, just for a chill-out training exercise.... ....& the puppy flourishes with the stimuli/challenges 🐶😍
fiber type rope like that doesnt release well enough. A slippery synthetic or coated material is better.
Thank you! Left my dog's lead across town and I'm not able to get there for a few days to get it. Perfect thing to hold us over
I have a 7month old Great Dane I think I will try this I have a expensive harness that go’s on the body and the leash clips to the front , ITS GOOD BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH. When he REALLY want to he pulls it’s not always but he is VERY STRONG I need this as a back up or EMERGENCY BRAKE🚨 ( e-brake 🚙 )🚨
Thank you so much for this video! Im so happy! Finally I found a solution ❤️❤️❤️
Just like any tool, it can be used to hurt the animal, even if unintentionally, or it might not be right for them. Do not use this unless your dog has good recall or doesn't try to bolt when on walks. While it is a good tool, and I use it on my parents dog, some dogs who like to bolt, especially smaller dogs, can and have snapped their necks using these, so always research how to use it correctly to avoid harm to the dog. It is a very useful tool when used correctly and on the right type of dog.
Yes, in the case of unsafe, aggressive dogs should always be muzzled and connect the slip collar device to their regular colla,r just incase. This could be really dangerous if it came undone/lose at a dog park or near a busy road
You flip the cord around so FAST that I actually have no idea how to slip this around my dogs head correctly even after watching 6 times.
slow the video down then
Exactly my problem can't follow what he did. I'm a little slow in my old age 76
@@Bloodyfoxclaws have enough issues trying to make these gadgets work let alone slow it down.
@@joescheller6680 I was talking to Jem dont worry I understand. i was telling jem that you can just choose the video speed
Hiya, just move your mouse along the bottom of the video, you will see a gear image. if you click on that, one of the options is playback speed. most things are simple, if you break them down or find videos to help. do not be intimidated. You have a right to access tech just like any kid. x@@joescheller6680
thanks!!!
Thanks wanted to try using one for our dogs but since their heads and about so tiny no store bought one would fit, that k's for this diy method
My sister did this and her dogs eye popped out and she had to bring her in to the vet so the dog could get it's eye back in I don't think this is a good idea tbh
I don't think that's even possible
@@shinu1923 then how did it happen are u saying it could have been something else or...
@@tachibana_mansworth she was probably using it wrong. A common mistake when using these is that you pull them like you would a flat collar as a correction, but that can be dangerous. You shorten the leash and don't mess with it so that it is loose when the dog is in a heel and tightens when the dog walks out of a heel. You hold it and dont mess with it. You dont jerk it, even if the dog starts pulling. It is a self correction, meaning it corrects itself safely without you doing anything.
@@shinu1923 well that makes sense
@@tachibana_mansworth With this you can be much more gentle than you can with a choker chain. Two fingers is enough to control my headstrong Weimeraner. You're just telling your dog what you want, not forcing it against it's will. If learning is fun then the dog learns quicker. Keep the negative stuff to a minimum.
Omg that dog looks just like mine
Thank you
This dog looks thin.
Linda Foster he looks a healthy weight.
This dog is perfect healthy weight, and if you have dogs they should look the same, any bigger and they are overweight/obese.
I own a Great Dane some are just thin looking I asked my vet why she said just that He is my second Great Dane And I was researching and they say it’s okay / normal to see the last Rib of there rib cage More weight on a Dane is more stress on there joints as long as they are eating drinking normal and all there bones are Not showing they are fine I think when he gets older he’ll look have more of a fullness to them The breed has Greyhound in em so maybe that’s why they look like that 🤷🏻♀️ ( his dad was euro mother was American ) so I guess he had the American Great Dane look to him
How long is the length of the slip leash
OMG I can't thank you enough for this video!!! I am watching a 1 yr old golden retriever for my daughter - no leash training had been done and I had given up on trying to walk her until I researched this method. No time to get one, so I crocheted one this morning with mercerized cotton yarn and some handbag making o-rings. Within minutes we were taking a nice relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. When my daughter returns she can get the better quality one or get a leash like you showed in the video. You are my hero!!
Tie a knot to keep it in place
100% I was just about to add your exact comment. I have to get creative and think of something that’ll keep it from going slack. I’ll take a stopper thingy from an old raincoat
To the people who ask why? Because when my dog tries to run underneath a car in motion this stops her in her tracks and keeps her safe!
Does it help like if she wants to smell something are you able to move her I have a Great Dane I’m considering getting it And curious about it He Pulls sometimes but when he dose it Very hard to move him in the direction I need him to go
@@crystalchavez4576 It should, honest it will kind of depend on the dog. The head harness worked beautifully on my American Bulldog but it was awful with my Staffie, for him I need a prong collar.
@@animaluvr123 Ooo okay 🤔 I was either gonna try this or a prong 1
This is amazing!! You just saved me 20$ . Tried it on my dog and it works perfectly !! No pulling at all !! I clip my normal leash to the end so it’s longer for walks .
What kind of dog do you have he looks adorable
good job
using this method , if the dog paws the loop off of their nose( they will try) the leash will fall off completely leaving your dog loose in public
Paris Johnson it’s around the back of the head through?
Switch which loop you put the snout through and which you put the head through. Also, you should always have a backup leash attatched to either a normal flat or a harness when using things such as gentle leaders, prongs, slips, etc.
These should always be used with a chest harness as well. Until the dog doesn't pull then switch to chest harness only.
SPORN collar/halter. Life changing. My dogs are big and HORRIBLE on leashes. I tried 10-15 different collars/leashes. The Sporn collar is amazing though because it’s soft and cushions around their armpits but if they go to pull, it automatically will pull their front legs back so it’s so life changing for walks. Instant results and you’ll be in shock. I couldn’t believe it. Not a spokesperson. Just was to the point where I hated walking them. Worth the $20-$30 bucks on Amazon. They have youtube vids on them too.
omg that was so simple! i loved it i want to try it on my dog because he pulls too much and has been hurting hes neck ill keep hes neck collar on for safety the first week while trying the head collar

@@SamSmolko I have something similar to what your describing And it cost me close to 50 bucks at petsmart and it works for a lil I have a 7 month old Great Dane - the Size of a Adult Doberman I’m here because I need what the video showed because he is back to his old ways of pulling even with correcting it as he dose it he only pulls sometimes when he wants to smell something and never move again 😑 or to see a dog
Works just like a gentle leader or infinity (perfect pace) setup. Those who are whining here obviously don't know what one is or the fact vets recommend and encourage this type of lead for walking dogs that like to pull. Great job.
Besides that it's less expensive than $50 for one that does the same thing. Key is knowing how to properly install one. Base of snout and behind the ears to message the calming zone. Shown here and adjusted perfectly.
Yeah but it's not fixed like a gentle leader is so couldn't it get really tight and hurt him.
The Petsafe brand one cut up my dogs face, without rigorous use. The company sent a replacement, that was rougher than the original. She needed vet care. Its not the best at all.
Just made one for my big guy whole different world walking him
wow is your dog a horse or something don't treat him like that please
No this is like a gentle leader it wont hurt the dog you can buy ones that r just like this but if you make one like this be sure not to get a rope leash
@@haleywilliams1643 slip leashes are made from rope that can give your dog friction burn if you use them for a while they are not good for dogs
please please dont try this. it can cause harm to your dog and is not meant for it. it will rub on their noses and their chin. just get a halt that is meant for it. please please please please please please please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@pretentious panda Absolutely, I just tried it on my headstrong Weimeraner. She was uncomfortable with it for a couple of minutes, settled down and responded really well. She was wagging her tail, not something a dog being harmed would do. This is wonderful, seemingly as good as a Halti.
@@RockinRobbins13 slip leashes are made from rope that can and will cause pressure and friction injuries with continued use they might not hurt at first but they will after a while
@@Olivia-wr5op This video changed everything about how I handle my Weimeraner. I don't use a metal ring, I tie a loop in the end of the rope. I've used it for over four months and there is no binding, no wearing on the nose or chin, nothing but a happy dog who loves to go outside on her rope. No, this is not properly used as a torture device to strangle your dog. If that's how it works for you the problem is with you, not the leash. A Halti is designed on the same principle and they work great. Dogs like them and this rope better than a normal chain and leash. All devices can be abusive, including a kennel. It's up to good owners to use their equipment properly with respect for their dog, not this rope, to make sure it's a positive experience. My dog loves it.
This will cause pressure wounds and possible neck damage. Not a good idea, if you like your dog and want to safe vet bills.
Steffi Maier and collars cause thyroid damage and harnesses cause rubbing and soreness on the chest area.I'll take this any day over. the other two.My dogs walk more freely and relaxed on this. One permanently destroyed his thyroid from pulling with a collar and both hate the weight and feel and restriction of the harness and constantly try to back out of them even loose or tight don't matter.
what dog do you have. it looks like mine, and he's a springador
Charlotte Anderson he looks like a Dane mix to me.
Why would you go through all that and NOT show the harness IN ACTION??
wtf.why u doing that to ur dog?
joe whiteman soo late but a head halter does not affect a dogs breathing in any way. They are designed for dogs to not pull on the leash, a dog usually walks where its head is facing, so if you can control its head, you can control the dog pretty well
👍👌
Jero got homesick too :(
