  • Quick video for the DIYer on how to replace front ABS sensor. Can be used to just help locate the sensor or as video to follow along, with simple instructions how to remove it. Vehicle is a 2009 Mercedes Benz C350.
    *** Make sure you use the same exact part number. This model has different part numbers that will fit the car. Wrong part number will result in different wheel speed readings and error ABS won't work.
    Thanks to Bensound.com for royalty free music used in the video.

    Pressing down on the top of the wire on the bracket (connector) will release it. That way, you don't remove the retaining clip entirely and risk the chance of losing it. Also, the car may need to be driven to turn off the MIL and clear any related codes. You will get an engine light, traction control error light, ABS light, and even transmission codes, all associated with a bad speed sensor. This procedure works with a 2014 C-Class (W204), as well.

      @Sergy Tsema I've had the steering angle sensor replaced, (£300) by my mechanic. He found this issue on his reader connected to the car.The fault went away for a while. A year later it has returned, every so often the ESP warning comes on. I have to keep resetting it. My mechanic plugged his laptop in and it shows no fault.! He suspects n intermittent fault on one of the sensors So, I'm going to replace all the sensors.

    For the drivers side sensor port pressing down on the wire clip released the wire HOWEVER on the passenger side I found it necessary to lift up and remove the clip as he did
    in this video. 2012 C250---drivers side one sensor port wire on passenger side two port wires--Brake pad indicator AND speed sensor.

    Looks like that may be the same process for my E class Coupe too - will need to check when I have time, nice clear video - my only comment would be that when doing more than changing a wheel, I would not rely on a jack for support, especially those factory supplied ones. Axle stands are the safest solution.

    Why is there two sensors on the front right and one on other wheels?

    • @trippydrew8492
      @trippydrew8492 Месяц назад +1

      I think there is only one per wheel. The other cable might be for the pad thickness sensor.

    The ultimate question.
    How do you know the sensor needs to be replaced? I am experiencing the sudden loss of ABS and other features when I make a hard left turn. I have been told that it’s a speed sensor however it doesn’t throw up a code. I’ve even tried using a scanner that reads abs.

    • @sergytsema
      @sergytsema  2 года назад

      I was able to tell its the speed sensor from my diagnostic tool that reads abs. There is an option to look at realtime speed of each of the sensors. The one that needed replacing was telling the car that its going about 12mph at a standstill.
