@@carbuying Oh man you just made my day with your answer. LOL. Great video. Can't take those fucking three lights out (2 for ESP on the left side and the ABS one on the right side). Im gonna take the car to Mercedes tomorrow. I bought a 2012 C250 last week, bulletproof (ex German embassy) with 100K miles on it. I paid 15K for it (I even had get a permit and all the crap before being able to buy it and drive it). The car is awesome and the bulletproof glass and the 360 degree kevlar on the body make you feel super secure, but I got those three yellow lights on after I tested it out at 240 Km/h coming back home and I was like... "These fuckers fucked me up". A friend told me it may be a sensor or the break pads being exhausted.... anyway, its kinda like I got the car for free (the level 3 bulletproof work alone costs like 40K-50K and its just one year old). Anyway. Fucking lights, I hope Mercedes give me a solution. Thanks for the video mate. Cheers.
thank you ...its worked with me turning the wheels right and left all the way...the signs showed up after leaving the car on in the parking with 60c temperature 🤦♂️
I had this problem with the right rear sensor on my own W204. I replaced the sensor but it didn't fix the problem (most of the time is IS the sensor that is faulty). I had to replace the pickup ring which had delaminated. I had to separate the driveshaft from the hub assembly and I was able to replace the pickup ring without having to remove the driveshaft from the rear differential. The ESP and ABS light came back and I found some remants of the old pickup ring I didn't notice when I changed the ring and it has been fine ever since.
Ok I didn’t get any information on driving the car when the auxiliary malfunction sign is on what can happen or how long you can drive it like that it an ML 350 2015
I had this issue recently fixed. It was high voltage from the thermostat that needed to be changed. It was expensive unfortunately but the problem wouldn't go away.
Thanks for this video, my car has been having an issue the engine check has been on and lately, traction and stability control systems and the speedometer stop working and starts fluctuating and the car refuse to accelerate, really would need help someone said it's an abs issue, i just want to be sure, thanks
Just subscribed! My Benz is 2004 model and when the ABS Light comes on the brake stops functioning. I had to stop driving it because of this. Will this method work for me?
No the a BS light has nothing to do with the transmission it is simply measuring the speed of the wheels so that the a BS brake system knows how to break in an emergency. So the a BS light coming on just simply means that the computer can't get a speed reading from the wheel because there's something wrong with the sensor
2012 Mercedes C250 Luxury - There are two parts that look very similar. The wrong one has wires coming out of it. My lights did not reset until I drove the car 100 yards.
I have all of these symptoms but also brake pedal feels like it’s chattering but it goes away after a couple of minutes. I changed the speed sensors twice.
Great video! My car has the same problem and is in the shop to replace the sensors. Just curious, what is that little coffee cup indicator near the "P" in 18:10 on your dash?
That coffee cup alert comes on when you've been on the highway for about an hour, and bugs the heck out of you every 20 minutes or so with 4 loud beeps to get your attention to prevent highway hypnosis, and it reminds to stay alert, I.e., like a cup of coffee.
Great video, thanks for all this information, BTW the OBD II reader you are using in the video I could not read the manufacturer brand would kindly let me know which one is it. Thanks!

Update: I was able to replace my left front wheel speed sensor following this video today! My 2012 C250 has C0031 which is the left front wheel speed sensor issue. Is left any different from right? Also is left sensor same as the right sensor (I am asking because I want to know if i can just order using your Amazon link for the Genuine MB RPM sensor). Thanks!
Yes, this sensor is for front left and front right. The rear wheels use a different sensor. the repair is the same as you see in this video, but might be mirror image.
@@carbuying thank you for the reply! I am so glad that I got this issue after your video came out haha. I watched other videos and post and they don't explain in detail like you do. Hi does that really take 6 hours, or are you accounting for someone doing this at home for the first time? Just wondering how many hours labour will be charged if I take it to a garage. Thnx
Complex system of inputs that sometimes exercising the wheel an help clear it, but hopefully your sensor is not on the way out. We had to change sensors in our vehicle
Hi there great video I have a very strange question but my abs light comes on for a second when my doors lock then goes off straight away (pulling away) (C class) w204 2012, any ideas?
I got the same issue today and went to the dealership, they scanned and tell me that the front left sensor is the issue, but they told me to change all four sensors, two infront and two rear sensors. I was going to change only the two sensors upfront. Because i think theres noproblem with the rear sensors. What do you think and recommend? Should i change all the sensors? Total 4. The cost is pretty high for four sensors. Thankyou!
Hello first I really appreciate the information you give us, I have 2015 GLA 250 that has the ABS and all of the other lights on as well like in the video the reader said front right wheel speed sensor faulty I replaced the sensor checked all the fuses and I reset all the rights and after I drive the car for less then a 100’ the lights come back again and from the same sensor I checked the sensor and it does have voltage. Any advice what I need to do here please? I really appreciate your help!
Have you tried using an ODB2 reader to reset the code in the engine? It could be that that you car is not automatically resetting the code when the condition disappears, or maybe there is an electrical issue triggering this, like maybe a bad fuse somewhere. We have seen where one bad fuse unrelated to this can cause a false positive. You should also try Club Lexus Forums, and ask there, very knowledgeable people there, who might have seen this issue. Let us know what you find.
Hi there - love your vid. I have a question regarding an engine check light and icarsoft MBV3.0 I have just replaced both front wheel bearings on my W211 E200K 2007. I am getting a fault code " Front Right rpm sensor, GAP INVALID " on my icarsoft MB V3.0 scanner.💣 I believe that the comment Gap means that the oil seal that I used is not being read by the sensors - I purchase a seal from a very reliable bearing wholesaler who checked the oem part number of the seal to ensure it was a perfect fit into the hub - which it was. I have also been reading that unless you used a genuine Mercedes part it will bring up this error. I have not yet changed the sensors as they were functioning perfectly before I changed the bearings. Can you help with any advice about the seals and if you have ahad any problems using non mercedes seals? I am in Australia Cheerz and look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards Stuart.
Same issue i had and the fault was my driver side front wheel i replaced it and code went off and i drove it and it came on again. So i hook the obd up again and now its my right front sensor now ?
Hello, purchased the new sensor front rt. Changed it as you demonstrated and completed however the lights are still on, I have the icarsoft scanner and the alarm is the same you found, I bought the sensor from Parts Geek, I bought the correct one!! But looking at the old one it had numbers on it I couldn’t find on the Holstein part so I ordered a new on from Mercedes parts sight, it was 77.00 compared to the 37.00 Holstein part, any thing else it could be? I’m a big subscriber you have excellent videos thank you. Mario
Hi Mario, how far have you driven the car? With our other car, the 2013 Mercedes C250 last week, we had to replace both front sensors, and it took a few hundred feet down the road for lights to go away on their own. Maybe try to drive it for a day see if it goes away on it's own. Also might try resetting the error code, maybe the RT needs to reset it rather than going away automatically. Hopefully there was no problem in your wiring harness. Try exercising the steering wheel all the way left and all the way right, drive around the blocks a few times. Also dumb things to check, did you actually attach the new part after removing the old part? Sometimes we do odd things in the heat of summer. Let us know what you find.
Hello and thanks for checking on me, I installed the new correct part and all went off except check engine light, I hooked up the icarsoft scanner and it says the right front rpm sensor, so should I try to clear that? It’s the only alarm or fault found, I’m Leary of erasing history as it comes up on the scanner, is that why the check engine light stays on?
Hi thank you for this video, So i will be very happy if you can help to find a problem or just to be sur about the technical part (diagnostic) that show me a code linked to abs box's. Im not sur, the problem is when i turn on the engine everything its Allright but when i start to drive juste a few meters the steering whell hard esp abs not available on the dashboard. Please if you have solution share it. Thank you again
Hi, Thank you for your video, helps a ton! Anyway, I just replaced right front wheel speed sensor on my 2012 c250 coupe (have the same code shown in video), but I’m still getting ABS inoperative message, I need to reset or drive more? Thanks!
carbuyingtipscom Hello there! I seem to have the same problem on my 2013. I’ve driven the car for quite a few miles now. It turns on and off. Sometimes I have my abs available, other times I start the car and it’s on again. I also tried disconnecting the battery for a little to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Checked with OBD2 tools and got the following info. Diagnostic Trouble Code C003100 the left front wheel speed sensor has malfunction. C003164 the left front wheel speed sensor has a malfunction. there is an implausible signal. Does it mean the front left ABS sensor is faulty? Could you please tell me how I can test this ABS sensor?
Is this an intermittent fault? I had the warning come 250 miles into a 600 mile trip. I got to my destination, put in a little DOT4+ fluid and the light went out the next day. Three days later I headed back 400 miles in and the warning came back on.
Hello, I have a problem with the front left sensor, I changed 2 sensors, I also changed the abs unit, I checked the wiring, but the code is still the same, what could it be?
Bad wheel bearings will give error codes for abs + traction control, ive done bearings on my w204 1.8 kompressor without the need to replace wheel speed sensors
Have this problem ABS ESP -garage fitted new Sensor on one wheel as indicated by Diagnostics - Still have the same problem - also Brake Lights coming on so it's not the Brake Pedal Switch - ALSO tried fullleft & right Lock -switch off engine - switch on engine and tried left/right wheel again - STILL shows up ABS ESP ?????
Actually have a similar problem with an abs esp see operations manual. Pop up 2007 s550. Let me know if you have a fix for that. Video on my page shows exact issue. Please let me know if you can help. 🙏
Did you try to vacuum out where the sensors go? Are they the right sensors made by your manufacturer? Sometimes people will buy a cheaper brand but turns out to be bad. Also maybe the ECU is the problem, maybe it's getting a good signal from the sensors but just not seeing it. Did you drive the car a few miles and exercise the steering wheel all the way left then all the way right?

I found used pump on ebay for around 120$ including the module which’s very reasonable price but you can see many rates that it can reach up-to 600$ for used one. I didn’t take the pump apart but I don’t think it’s leaking.
jeffostroff the module is around 1300$ and the hydraulic is around 1000$ for new one
Wow, that’s totally awesome, thanks
Thumbs up. Also for the fact you look and talk kinda like Joe Pesci.
Funny How? LOL!
Cheers.
Great information organization !
Glad it was helpful!
THANK YOU !! You should teach other RUclipsrs how to make videos.
You're welcome!
Is it safe to drive my car like this while the parts arrive?
Very good video
Thanks for the visit, glad you like it Tonnie!
Nice detailed video! Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! thanks for watching Juan Carlos
thank you ...its worked with me turning the wheels right and left all the way...the signs showed up after leaving the car on in the parking with 60c temperature 🤦♂️
Very informative
Ok I didn’t get any information on driving the car when the auxiliary malfunction sign is on what can happen or how long you can drive it like that it an ML 350 2015
Well done!
Hi, amazing video, easy to understand, however i woild like to know , What is the number of the wrench you used to remove the sensor screw?
That was the open end of a 10 mm wrench
I had this issue recently fixed. It was high voltage from the thermostat that needed to be changed. It was expensive unfortunately but the problem wouldn't go away.
Can you fix it yourself?
Nice video, don't use this jack anymore, dangerous good stuff
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
So I have a 2014 C250 does this mean 1fuse number 15 is my left malfunction
Thanks for this video, my car has been having an issue the engine check has been on and lately, traction and stability control systems and the speedometer stop working and starts fluctuating and the car refuse to accelerate, really would need help someone said it's an abs issue, i just want to be sure, thanks

My Benz is 2004 model and when the ABS Light comes on the brake stops functioning. I had to stop driving it because of this. Will this method work for me?
Yes it worked for us, you saw it here in action. Remember to clean out the spot where the sensor goes.
طريقة الشرح ممتازة شكرا لك 😘
English?
carbuyingtipscom the way explained is very refined and easy way. thank you 😘
google translator is great to use :-)
great one
Can ABS light affect transmission? When the lights came on my car wasn’t accelerating as it normally would.
Yes our 2013 C250 W204 had to drive a few hundred feet before the light turned off.
I have all of these symptoms but also brake pedal feels like it’s chattering but it goes away after a couple of minutes. I changed the speed sensors twice.
Did you clean out the area where the senor goes as well and vacuum in there?
Thanks!
Patrick, we had the link to it in the video description with other tools and parts, here it is: ✅ BAFX Wireless Bluetooth OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner & Reader Tool: amzn.to/2q0WOe0
@@carbuying Thanks!
I also followed your video to replace the battery for the first time a week ago lol. Your videos are very visual and easy to understand. 👍👍👍
So the sensor caused the engine check might as well and the other 3?
Hi does that really take 6 hours, or are you accounting for someone doing this at home for the first time? Just wondering how many hours labour will be charged if I take it to a garage. Thnx
Damn… actually worked with “turn the wheel left&right.. ty so much. Do you know why it happend in the first place?
Complex system of inputs that sometimes exercising the wheel an help clear it, but hopefully your sensor is not on the way out. We had to change sensors in our vehicle
Question is it possible that if it’s dirty this will also happen ?
this happened to my cls after heavy rain
Hi there great video I have a very strange question but my abs light comes on for a second when my doors lock then goes off straight away (pulling away) (C class) w204 2012, any ideas?
Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Did you manage to solve it?
@@sharonr555Both batteries were replaced but the problem didn't go away till I replaced the Auxiliary battery. Hope this helps
ABS currently unavailable Run Flat Indicator inoperative how to fix
I got the same issue today and went to the dealership, they scanned and tell me that the front left sensor is the issue, but they told me to change all four sensors, two infront and two rear sensors. I was going to change only the two sensors upfront. Because i think theres noproblem with the rear sensors. What do you think and recommend? Should i change all the sensors? Total 4. The cost is pretty high for four sensors. Thankyou!
We change only the only sensor that fails due to the cost.
Let us know what you find.
carbuyingtipscom yes I did reset all the codes and as soon as I drive it the lights will come back. Do you know where the sensor read the speed from?
Did you get a resolution for this? I have the same problem.
Mine was brake light switch..noticed my engine started on push start without pressing the brake. It was partially disconnected
Does the Genuine Mercedes-Benz RPM Sensor 204-905-29-05 work on the both front left and right side? Thank you!
Hi there - love your vid. I have a question regarding an engine check light and icarsoft MBV3.0 I have just replaced both front wheel bearings on my W211 E200K 2007. I am getting a fault code " Front Right rpm sensor, GAP INVALID " on my icarsoft MB V3.0 scanner.💣
I believe that the comment Gap means that the oil seal that I used is not being read by the sensors - I purchase a seal from a very reliable bearing wholesaler who checked the oem part number of the seal to ensure it was a perfect fit into the hub - which it was.
I also have this problem, but the mechanic told me that it's ponpa de abes, I don't know what to do to buy a sou ponpa cable???
@@mariowoodsN5 You should be able to clear it, but the engine fault should have gone away on its own
@@jacquelinetexeira6827 yes Jacqueline there was a pea sized rock on the sensor hole.
Hi thank you for this video,
So i will be very happy if you can help to find a problem or just to be sur about the technical part (diagnostic) that show me a code linked to abs box's.
Im not sur, the problem is when i turn on the engine everything its Allright but when i start to drive juste a few meters the steering whell hard esp abs not available on the dashboard.
Please if you have solution share it.
Thank you again
You have to read out the engine failure code using an OBD2 reader, what codes did you get?
Could you tell me about the 2nd cable of the pair? The speed sensor I understood. I don't understand what is the 2nd cable...
The 2nd cable is likely for the brakes
Thank you ... BTW, excellent video ... helped me A LOT !! I love Mercedes benz. However, I hate the dealership's greed.
Hi,
Thank you for your video, helps a ton! Anyway, I just replaced right front wheel speed sensor on my 2012 c250 coupe (have the same code shown in video), but I’m still getting ABS inoperative message, I need to reset or drive more?
Thanks!
Did you try driving it a few miles, see how it does?
carbuyingtipscom Hello there! I seem to have the same problem on my 2013. I’ve driven the car for quite a few miles now. It turns on and off. Sometimes I have my abs available, other times I start the car and it’s on again. I also tried disconnecting the battery for a little to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
carbuyingtipscom I did drove the car a few days now, the ABS message comes on sometime and off other times.
@@carsandpassions9116 where did you buy your sensor from? Maybe the new ABS sensor is unreliable.
Checked with OBD2 tools and got the following info.
Diagnostic Trouble Code
C003100 the left front wheel speed sensor has malfunction.
C003164 the left front wheel speed sensor has a malfunction. there is an implausible signal.
Does it mean the front left ABS sensor is faulty?
Could you please tell me how I can test this ABS sensor?
Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor (Sub fault). Not easy for a non Mercedes mechanic to test this, we just replace it when the engine code is 0031
hello, the esp and traction lamps of my 2012 model c250 Amg remain on and the car does not move forward even though it is running.
Is this an intermittent fault? I had the warning come 250 miles into a 600 mile trip. I got to my destination, put in a little DOT4+ fluid and the light went out the next day. Three days later I headed back 400 miles in and the warning came back on.
Sounds like the ABS sensor on the wheel is starting to go. But not in full failure mode yet
@@carbuying yes that was it, had it repaired last week
Did not see video on your page, but you must use an OBD2 reader to read out the cause of the problem. What did your OBD2 reader say?
@@carbuying replace esp control module.
Great video! I just subscribed! Will this work for a 2007 Mercedes s550 base model? (Video on my page describing).
Yes it will if the codes read out the same
Try Bilt Hamber as a wheel cleaner. It's acid free and amazing cleaner
Sounds good!
Hello i had the same issue on my w204 2011 c220 cdi after chaneing right front sensor foult stays on do i nead to test drive it?
It's not my speed sensor it's just keeps blowing the fuse to the abs pump
I have changed all sensors yet same problem. What else can one do
Did you try to vacuum out where the sensors go? Are they the right sensors made by your manufacturer? Sometimes people will buy a cheaper brand but turns out to be bad. Also maybe the ECU is the problem, maybe it's getting a good signal from the sensors but just not seeing it. Did you drive the car a few miles and exercise the steering wheel all the way left then all the way right?
