Nice, I made a salsa con queso this way too, just add jalapenos (1 small can pickled or 1-2 fresh) 1/4 white onion, 1/4th cup.diced tomatoes, 1/2clove minced garlic and and a pinch of minced celantro

My mum's been usiytgis recipe for decades now she's always used what cheese she had in the fridge and just grated it into the milk mixture till it had the desired cheese taste
so that's how it's made. There's a Mexican restaurant near me that serves that dip, I've tried many ways to duplicate it, but all efforts have failed. Thanks for this video

You can also use cups for the cheese, but u really shouldnt if u are looking for the same consistency as in the video. the reason being is that depending on the size of the shred u plan on using or how firmly its packed into the cup (loose pack vs firm pack) will change the weight. smaller grains will be heavier because u can fit more into the cup, but if u go by grams, u eliminate that issue. hope this helps

Maybe you added to much butter
You have to turn off the heat before adding the cheese
Cook the flour and butter longer
