I just upgraded from iPad Air (first generation) to the iPad Pro 2020... and I’m almost crying it’s such an upgrade. I was way overdue for an upgrade, but could not afford it, so I saved my money, because I know I wanted the Pro. My favorite accessory is the Magic Mouse as well, but I wouldn’t be able to travel anywhere without a power bank.
I run my iPad Pro 12.9” 2018 in two manors: 1.) At home: Logitech slim folio pro with Magic Trackpad 2, Apple Pencil, hyperdrive dongle for at home productivity and just a more desk friendly setup with full functionality. 2.) Mobile/@Work: A case on the iPad with a pencil sleeve for my note taking at work or on the go, an aluminum stand to prop it up, a foldable keyboard and of course the trackpad. All packs into a nice amazon bag I got for everything. Having an iPad has been perfect use case for me. It works well at work, it works well for personal stuff, and the versatility is a game changer. I’m finally setup with exactly what I need at all times.
Great to have someone who doesn’t feel fake of paid making videos about honest reviews. I personally think the pencil with the mouse is the best 2 accessory’s simple due to the simplicity and low form factor. ( I can put the Magic Mouse in my pocket and the iPad already has an onboard keyboard). If you wanna take the experience up a huge notch download the jump app and boom! You now have not only your iPad, but a COMPLETELY separate computer at your fingertips. This is where having the mouse and even the pencil come in. You can use the mouse as a normal mouse or you can use the pencil with it’s percision to click. Honestly I’ve forgotten that I was connected to my pc and have found myself watching RUclips through my iPads link to my pc a few times.
As a scientist I read a lot of publications and annotate PDFs with the Apple pencil. Also I take lots of notes with Notability and the Apple Pencil is absolutely awesome! Another thing that's awesome is your work!! You are credible and structured. Love your work!

Lumafusion can be full screen on an external monitor. When you connect the iPad to an external display a new display layout options appear in Lumafusion. You just need to connect to the display then hit the display options in Luma and then you are good to go.

Smart Keyboard is definitely the current best keyboard for iPad Pro but once the Magic Keyboard with trackpad is released its going to be game changing! It’s turning 4 into one. 1. Keyboard 2 Mouse 3 trackpad 4 Passthrough charging. That means you won’t really need a dongle since the iPads USB C port will be open while charging through the keyboard.
For a mobile computing solution, I have an 11" iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Magic Keyboard, Logitech MX Anywhere 2 BT mouse, 1TB SanDisk Ultimate USB-C external HDD, AirPods Pro, Hommie USB-C 6 in 1 hub and an ESR USB-C 30W PD charger. It all fits in a small Tomtoc bag.
It is funny that the Apple Pencil 2 is a sidekick in this. Sure there are lots of people that don't need the Apple Pencil but the Apple Pencil is literally the main reason why I got the iPad in the first place
I am in Humber for film and television. I hope to become a filmmaker/director and television producer. Due to covid it became a required technology to buy a MacBook Pro. I made the disastrous switch from my windows/pc/hp to a full blown MacBook Pro. Not knowing what the hell to expect - only that they will be good for editing, I was searching youtube for videos to get an idea of what I was getting myself into. I ran into you unboxing of the same model I have got, and I have to say you saved my life! Besides the wacked up price of the mac itself (whopping 3k, sadly using a big portion of my savings for the 80's Caddy I wanted), I did save a lot of money thanks to your video of accessories. I own the Lacie hard drive which is saving my mac and I very well. I was never a fan of the mouse until I got one. I can go back or forth on pages on the internet - wasting no time at all. You can zoom, switch pages, and scroll all in one motion of a mouse. I can imagine how fast and easier editing will be with the magic mouse. Battery life of the mouse is amazing. two weeks and only 97% left! All in all, I owe it all to your videos. You are honest through your opinions, ideas, and preferences. Never an Apple fan but MacBook is okay. Having my own is giving me time to get use to it. Spent well amount of time to familiarize myself with the functions. Since your favorite accessories are the keyboard and mouse... are you looking forward to the upcoming keyboard with built in trackpad, or would you still stick to the separate keyboard/mouse combo?
Bulldog Badger I‘ll get one too. To be honest, I‘ve already recently sold my Smart Keyboard Folio and now I can‘t wait for the Magic Keyboard to finally release and be available for pre-order on Apple‘s online shop. I think it‘ll be a game changer. Super excited about it.
Monsi - Gaming I just revisited creating content so will be using my ipad for editing, plus my job entails a lot of travel so this means my ipad is my goto media centre and the first thing I grab for sending emails and documenting tasks in wrike etc without having to get my big ass laptop fired up.. the magic keyboard will be a huge gamechanger as you rightly say, im pumped just for the charging capability alone leaving the ipad port free for other things
Bulldog Badger Yeah, I totally agree. For me, especially with the Magic Keyboard and Trackpad, the iPad Pro will actually be a laptop replacement and the only "notebook" I carry around.
It amazes me that you like the iPad Keyboard. Maybe it is because you have the smaller iPad Pro. I hated it and took it back. I felt it had a terrible typing experience and it was not stable enough to work with lying in bed. I have the Logitech Slim Folio which provides an excellent typing experience and has a flap and slop to hold the pencil but it still is not steady on the bed. I then picked up the Brydge Keyboard which as a better typing experience than Apple’s which does ot even have a backlight but it is not as good as the Logitech’s which is as good as a Magic Keyboard. The Brydge however turns the iPad into a laptop which is steady and can be viewed from any angle. I did not like the Magic Muse with it so I picked up another Magic Trackpad which I love far better than the mouse. I am using the 12.9 2018 iPad Pro.
Many people like the iPad Keyboard. I personally love it and use it everyday with my 12.9 iPad. I love the way it feels, the typing experience, the simplicity, how easy it is to remove when you don’t need it and I don’t need backlit keys. To me, it’s perfect.
mereiriz have you ever accidentally dropped your iPad with Apple’s keyboard....My friend got a terrible dent on it’s side...so yeah Apple’s keyboard totally sucks....🤮🤮🤮...well Folio case is awesome....with night typing experience with added side support....
I have the 11in as well and it’s perfect and I loved my folio keyboard. Preordered the new magic keyboard for it can’t wait till it comes because now working at night is great with backlit keys, that trackpad 😍, and looks easier to take the iPad on and off the case (only issue with my current folio cuz the magnets were to strong on the 2 slots on the bottom)
Hey everyday dad, in your daily use instead of having so many cables here’s one I use: Native Union Universal Cable USB-A to Triple Head. Got usbc lightning and microusb to charge your multiple devices
I too love the Magic Mouse. One of my favorite parts of the Magic Mouse is the fact that it fits in a pocket. So slim, just slip it in the breast pocket on my way to my next meeting, etc. so perfect.
I love how casual you are and your energy while talking about these devices. I don’t always use my Apple Pencil but it is great to have handy. I use it in business for signatures. Two years ago I started back to university for my Masters and my Apple Pencil is handy for highlighting, and in meetings writing when it is awkward that you are slapping the noisy keys that bother others :-)
For me the iPad and the pencil are the best combo .. I love writing out my notes in different colors, highlighting the important things and adding little hearts and flowers to it to really personalize them . Written notes in different colors just makes me happy ... asf lol great video though ❤️
I purchased the pencil because I use my IPad Pro to take notes during meetings and to sometimes sketch out ideas... it useful, but only, outside of artistic purposes, in those instances... the magnetic connection is a plus... the original pencil (with the first iPad Pro) always made me nervous it was going to break - or be broken while I had it plugged in.
Thank you for the great videos. There are no better videos related to the Apple ecosystem. Professional made, professional contend and so entertaining. Waiting for my iPad Pro to arrive. Guess what, think about buying the magic keyboard 😂. I mainly use it for teaching in school. Great device for an unorganized person like me. Really enjoy your channel. Thank you and keep going. Greetings from Germany. Thom
The Everyday Dad seriously 90% of the time I have it stuck to my microphone arm as a magnet and then every couple weeks I panic thinking I lost it only to remember I stuck it to my microphone arm. LOL
If I don’t have it stuck to the iPad I legit lose it. The one for the non pro iPad doesn’t stick to anything and I’ve actually lost it twice (I don’t know why I keep buying them)
This is a great video, man. Saw your tweet earlier, and I totally think you should shift focus if it feels right. Your enthusiasm is crushing, and there's no shortage of cool tech coming out. Well done!
I draw a lot on it. So my favorite accessories are the ZuGue Muse case because of all the different angles I can tilt the iPad to, the Apple Pencil of course, a Paperlike screen protector, and a Tomtoc carrying case. I like that case because it's easy to pack in a small sketchbook, a few extra supplies, and the iPad itself.
Your can use your PS4 and Xbox One Wireless/wired Controllers with IPad OS and MacBook Pro. Eventually the new consoles when they arrive will be supported.
I have to agree that having the smart keyboard and the mouse is essential. My favorite keyboards are produced by Brydge. However, they have such a huge drawback - you can't swipe up from the bottom of the screen for split-screen or slide over.

"Apple needs dongles" is the reason why I'm no sure i'll get another MacBook when my 2012 first gen retina isn't viable anymore. This computer is the perfect size and it was stupid to get rid off al the ports.
I have the 2015 MBP and its actually really great. I think its the last of the pro lineup right before they switched to all USB-C. its nice to have a headphone jack, HDMI out, USB and thunderbolt ports.
Question: we are considering the 12.9 iPad Pro 2020 as our laptop and IPad 2 are on their last legs. We are also considering the new magic keyboard and track pad in May. Knowing that we have kids and knowing we’ve shattered our fair share of screens is there a way to use a case like an Otter Box Defender with the Magic Keyboard? If not is there a sleeve of sorts that’ll make it kid proof and allow for taking it out to use on the new magic keyboard?
I’m a creative and watching the Pencil section really hurt me…especially since mine died and I’m gonna have to figure out my budget to get a new one😩😩😩
Are there any like budget apltions? Like a good keyboard case for under $50? I just bought the iPad and so I'm running a little low on da dow so just wondering if I was able to buy any of the accessories for a low price but similar quality? Thanks!
Question, sorry it doesn’t pertain to this actual video but to one of your GoPro videos ,I just bought a GoPro 8 black and I’m going on a pheasant hunt tomorrow , I was going to do it on loop mode but have two questions , first question what would be the best setting to shoot it on ? 4K 30fps wide? (Wearing a head mount) Or something different and 2nd question , while on loop mode instead of stopping video by pushing button to store the video in the bank then hitting it again to start back up can you just use voice commands and say GoPro stop recording and have it store it then say GoPro start recording to resume? Thanks a lot keep up the awesome videos
In your opinion, is the 512gb model large enough for video editing? If I'm planning to edit videos between 30 minutes and an hour? I have a 500gb ssd to dumb files onto the iPad, and then to dump them back out of the iPad when I'm done editing.
that keyboard is so damn amazing. I actually ended up with ipad 12.9 instead of laptop they are unrealistically fast and when you get a decent mouse it really destroys most laptops below the $1000 range and some above that range. Really not happy with Apple these days, heir phones suck and the macbooks are meh...but the Ipads are just absolute beasts. Seems like a lot of them get that white dot or white lines on the screen but other than that they are just amazing.
This was very helpful since I just got the new 2020 iPad Pro. I am wondering what would be a good microphone to use with it for podcasting and calls...and it would be nice to see a setup with the new floating keyboard.

I do have one issue with this information. The buttons on the Magic Mouse CANNOT be programmed to do different things with Assistive Touch enabled.. The side clicks do NOT work on iPad (I have an iPad Pro 12.9” 2020) and cannot be programmed and the mouse can only swipe left to right, up and down and click once in the middle. Furthermore, turning on Assistive Touch with Magic Mouse will not make any difference. If I am wrong, prove me wrong. Give me some instruction.
Have the keyboard, mouse, and external monitor (old 720p) TV and love. Your videos are always great and I’m a big fan. I noticed you didn’t mention the trackpad and think that might be a good subject for another video.
Have you found any issues with performance when editing video? Thinking of getting one to compliment my laptop when I’m on the go to edit photos as the touch screen would help with my workflow and it would be able to fit in my camera bag.
Zugucase. So many ways to adjust it, plus magnets! I can attach it to the side of my fridge while I cook. And... because I use this case I use the Logitech keys to go. It’s very similar to the folio keys just not attached. And Logitech crayon and Logitech ms anywhere 2s
Thanks TEDD for creating this accessory video! You gave me some new accessory ideas to consider in the future. Currently, I have my iPad Pro 11 2020 equipped with a Ztotop case for full protection, Logitech M557 mouse so I can use it with my iPad and my PC for work, Logitech K380 keyboard, a Humixx tablet stand to emulate the magic keyboard setup, and the Apple Pencil 2 to wrap up the kit. Bonus: Duet Display expands iPad’s usefulness as a second monitor for us Windows PC users.
I love using my iPad Pro for video/photo editing as well as other productivity work. You should check out Switcher Studio. It’s a great streaming/recording app I use with my Rodecaster Pro.

I’m legit wearing the same shirt he is watching this video and it blew my mind. 😂
Matt B. : Wow 🙄
Matt B. Many people can have the same clothes as yotubers
Where is it from???
I want one
Dirtbox comment... massive shirt lifter, congrats
My favorite accessory is the magic keyboard great video tho
I’m a creative and watching the Pencil section really hurt me…especially since mine died and I’m gonna have to figure out my budget to get a new one😩😩😩
logitech keyboard with trackpad and apple pencil are the best two for school
Are there any like budget apltions? Like a good keyboard case for under $50? I just bought the iPad and so I'm running a little low on da dow so just wondering if I was able to buy any of the accessories for a low price but similar quality? Thanks!
May fav are magic keyboard and Magic Mouse.
Those mid-word jump cuts are hilarious! 😂🤣
Not sure why but your videos give me a Dave 2D vibe. Anyway love your channel man.
I can't believe PaperLike didn't sponsor this. You did great on this video.👍😎
Before this video... WHY IS PaperLike SPONSORING EVERYTHING 😳.
More exposure
I just ordered a dongle and 60W charging block to use the dongle to charge iPad and phone at the same time.
In your opinion, is the 512gb model large enough for video editing? If I'm planning to edit videos between 30 minutes and an hour? I have a 500gb ssd to dumb files onto the iPad, and then to dump them back out of the iPad when I'm done editing.
What editing app do u use for iPad 2020 😄?
Love your videos and how in a cool professional way you show them but can you try if its possible next time give us like that price?!!
Can you use that mouse to mirror the iPad Pro 2 generation screen onto a Samsung 4 monitor? Thanks !
First time watching one of your videos. I love you! You're really fun to watch.
Got yourself another subscriber. Your videos are all very insightful.
At first, I never used the pencil just like you. But when I started doing thumbnails on affinity photo, it became useful.
My favorite accessory is the ssd because it is portable and light and Samsung.
I think the magic keyboard with trackpad that’s coming out in May will be mine.
its so expensive though
@@jamalmasri8003 after tax, shipping, 379$....
that keyboard is so damn amazing.
I wanted to love the magic mouse but it cramped my hand to use so I went back to the MX Master.
Yeah, I used to not like it but anymore I can’t use anything else.
@@TheEverydayDad I may give it another try one day
Why RUclips app on my iPad Pro 10.5" is defaulting to 480p even if I have good internet connection?
Does this iPad have PD 3.0 for fast charging.
Due to hight internet traffic, youtube has put 480p as standard so everyone gets to see videos with much of a buffer
Dude which is the Samsung onitor that you have in this Video ? Can you please post a link to that ?
This was very helpful since I just got the new 2020 iPad Pro. I am wondering what would be a good microphone to use with it for podcasting and calls...and it would be nice to see a setup with the new floating keyboard.
Have you tried it with the built in mics?
@@alaskaaksala123 Yes, they are good enough, but I am always looking for a little better.
I have the new ravpower hub and it is very useful as a wireless router and as a wireless hard drive
I didn't like iPad since I was young, but you changed my mind
Abishai Styven, same
A PlayStation 5 controller works as well and it charges with usb type c
What screen protector do you use. Seen so many conflicting videos!!
This content is great! Keep up the good work!
Very useful , but would me more helpful if there are subtitles for the accessory names, model numbers, company names. Thank you.
be
And now with the magic case keyboard.. you would love your iPad more, Gary.
People : “WOWW YOU GOT THE NEW APPLE PENCIL!”
ARTIST : “yeahh thats for drawing”
People : “WOWW YOU GOT THE NEW APPLE PENCIL!”
RiCh SpOiLeD kId : “IDK, i just buy it cuz it the part of the kit right?”
Everybody at my school thinks im the last person to be good at art, i showed them what i made in procreate, they all shocked af
i considered getting one so i can stop using notebooks for note taking, save the trees and all that 😅
BeyondBrii lol hehehehe
I do have one issue with this information. The buttons on the Magic Mouse CANNOT be programmed to do different things with Assistive Touch enabled.. The side clicks do NOT work on iPad (I have an iPad Pro 12.9” 2020) and cannot be programmed and the mouse can only swipe left to right, up and down and click once in the middle. Furthermore, turning on Assistive Touch with Magic Mouse will not make any difference. If I am wrong, prove me wrong. Give me some instruction.
The keyboard is definitely the favorite and the would be the Samsung t5! Great Video.
Have the keyboard, mouse, and external monitor (old 720p) TV and love. Your videos are always great and I’m a big fan. I noticed you didn’t mention the trackpad and think that might be a good subject for another video.
Great video by the way!
Have you found any issues with performance when editing video? Thinking of getting one to compliment my laptop when I’m on the go to edit photos as the touch screen would help with my workflow and it would be able to fit in my camera bag.
I haven’t had any problems, my only real complaints are you can’t edit from an external drive and there are no scopes in Luma fusion.
I'm looking for a nice case/cover for my iPad Pro. Any suggestions ? and no, not the Smart Folio :)
I have the 2018 model and my dog has make a scratch into the screen before I can buy a screen protector 😂😭
All artists here: That's a total disrespect for apple pencil. 😂
I'm waiting for the new apple magic lighting keyboard
I love using my iPad Pro for video/photo editing as well as other productivity work.
You should check out Switcher Studio. It’s a great streaming/recording app I use with my Rodecaster Pro.
Oh nice! I’ll have to check that out!
Have you got a link to your video on keyboards that you mention, I can't find it in your channel anyway :(
