      Worst field I’ve seen in a long, long time. Having said that, I don’t think there’s any advantage to it being intentional, affects Oklahoma as much as Tennessee. But OU should have addressed this issue long before their SEC opener.

    Yes that encroachment call was a thing of beauty. He took a good penalty to save the defenses drive. I thought about how well coached and how much this team looks out for each other. Excellent defensive performance and little moments like that have made this defense so special.

    I was extremely happy with the way the Vols played this game. Hype has talked all off-season about our defense, and once we lost both starting tackles, it was the perfect time to lean on that defense. We were never at risk of losing, and it helped our players. Especially, the OL and tackle positions. Way to go, Vols!

  • @JBPVFL
    @JBPVFL День назад +2

    With our tackle depth issue, I feel like we should start keeping at least 1 tight end out there on every play. We have already seen great things from them offensively, but having that extra body for blocking or safety check-downs seems even more important now with several injuries at tackle. I'm not sure how well the tight ends are familiar with the WR routes, but I wouldn't even be opposed to seeing 2 tight ends out there more often until we can get healthy or feel more comfortable with our oline protecting nico.

      GOOD! Sorry to have besmirched WVLT. I was told they were hubbed, too. Sadly, however, I'll bet it's only a matter of time. But I'm all for local stations having local people to produce (and hit play on) local shows. If I had the power to splinter the gigantic corporate behemoths who own hundreds of stations I would. All the best, John

    Knocking out a Jackson Arnold offense is no great feat. The challenge didn’t come until
    Hawkins, yes, against the Tennessee starters, drove the OU offense for two touchdowns. Look at the film. It’s too bad that change didn’t take place earlier. Maybe the outcome would be the same, but even so, it would have been tooth and nail. That is the first offense OU showed all year long. We’ll see how he does going forward.

  • @markblankenship6233
    @markblankenship6233 2 дня назад +1

    Holding OUs offense woth Jackson Arnold on the field was no great feat. Tennessee’s defense wasn’t tested until fourth quarter when Arnold was benched. In the other match-up, the other bog dogs will like what they saw OUs defense do to the number one offense.JH wasn’t playing nice in the second half. Those statements come from people who don’t know football. It was a coaching decision to go conservative to protect the young QB, based on the assumption that OU couldn’t move the ball on offense. It was a sound decision by JH. The plan got a little hairy when Hawkins came in abs was able to move the ball. JH began second guessing his decision. You could see the strain on his face. It actually ended up being a pretty good game, even with OUs incompetence under Jackson Arnold. The media are saying JH was just being nice, but the SEC coaches watching film know better.

    Why aren’t we taking into account of how big of an attendance and viewership draw Tennessee is? It boils down to the dollar at the end of the day. They can state the criteria for getting in the playoff all they want but we saw last year there is more that goes into it.

    About penalties under Heupel. If you go back and watch the 2019 Fiesta Bowl between UCF and LSU, UCF killed themselves with personal fouls. This is from memory so forgive me if I lack a few details but there was one point early where UCF was up by a touchdown or korean and LSU had 3rd and long Joe Burrow threw an in completion so the play was over and UCF was going to get the ball back and they had the momentum. HOWEVER, there was a blatant out of bounds late hit kn the receiver so LSU got an automatic first down and Joe Burrow instantly turned into the Joe Burrow that we came to know the next season and drove LSU down the field for a TD. LSU went on to win the game but i am convinced that if UCF had been more disciplined they wou,d have won.
