The acting is thoroughly amazing from this cast. The main woman - Sae Byeok is actually a model. She auditioned on a whim and ended up getting the part so this is her acting debut and yet she's so amazing.
That’s incredible!😭love that for her!
This episode was a masterpiece - the set-up to the game with Gi-hun choosing the old man for a partner was so heartwarming and hopeful until the horrific reveal that they would compete against their partners, and then it was just gradually more crushing from there. The music, the lighting, the dialogue, everything led up to such a devastating conclusion. Ali's lost cries and final hopeless expression, Ji-Yeong's smile as she thanked Sae-Byeok for choosing her, and lastly the old man telling Gi-hun everything would be alright, it all just broke me in the last few minutes of the episode, as I'm sure it did a lot of other people. I've never been so emotionally gut-punched by an hour of TV in my life as I was with episode 6 of Squid Game. Sensational.
정확한표현.분석이 뛰어나십니다..great
Fun fact: The 2 thugs played a fair game while the "better guys" were cheating.
One more reason why I liked this episode.
There's people out there saying that Ji-Yeong didn't deserve to be rooted for for killing her own father. What they fail to realize though is that he was a PASTOR that did unspeakable things to his own daughter and abused his mother and didn't repent for his sins when he murdered her. He got what he deserved 100% and Ji-Yeong is definitely one of my top 5 favorite character in this show.
Remember this is fiction and Netflex will always put Christians in bad light. I am a pastor son and in real life pastors are mostly the best of human kind. And yes my dad was one of the good men.
Exactly. I feel shes an extremely underrated/slept on char.
I actually felt sorry for her the most - she had the most tragic backstory to me. From her being abused as a child to her dad killing her mother, her reasoning of 'ive got nothing outside here' is by far the most tragic thing in this show... this girl has literally absolutely nothing in life after just coming out of prison for killing her father, and to be honest, never had anything in life.
Ali at least experienced the joy of love (marriage and birth of his child)
Sae byeok at least had a loving family and the love and companionship of her little brother at the very least.
Sung woo had the joys of joining an elite uni and the prestige that comes with it.
Gi hun also experienced love from marriage and having a kid.
Ji yeon had nothing her entire life. From the day she was born to the last 30min before she died she had nothing but pain, abuse, and suffering. That last 30min with sae byeok was the closest she ever got to experiencing happiness her entire life.
@@frankh.5378 bla bla bla
@@frankh.5378 but they didn’t , the only one that talked against it was the girl and for her personal reasons. Plus, you’re not objective being the son of a pastor 🤷🏻♀️.
@@frankh.5378 thats why its so disgusting he is acting like this despite being a pastor
If only we had friends like Ji-yeong nowadays... I'm cryin'
Everyone wants friends like her, no one wants to be like her 🥲
@@lachhamantudu3384 right. if you want people to be like her, start with u first lmao
All she wanted was a girls night out
It's a cinematic setting, but it's too heart breaking ㅜㅜ
If only we had friends like Ali #justiceforali
It broke my heart into pieces when Ali called Sang Woo "hyungnim" which means "older brother" in a very respectful manner. And as Ali realized what Sang Woo had done to him 😭😭😭
What hurts the most is Ali calls Sang woo as hyung, someone you would call an elder brother
Wow, I didn’t even know that!
I cried with you. Squidgame is just brilliant. I usually don't get on with the hype but I just had a gut instinct that this will be amazing. This is my favorite episode 😭
So happy this show is getting the recognition it deserves!
14:18 Ali actually shouted “Bro” which means a lot more than just calling the name in Korean culture.
상우 형....
all the details in this serie are incredible : for exemple, in the Tug of War episode, Ji-Yeong is mocking the preacher man praying in the lift, because she hates guys like him, her father was a pastor who prayed everytime after abusing her or beating her mother ;-)
Yeah at first i didnt really like her cause she was mocking him for no reason but when she told her story i understood her more
I guess i was too quick to assume....
@@zackidoodles6762 I'm Christian but the pastor disgusted me actually. Instead of praying for forgiveness and feeling guilty, he thanked God for the deaths of the other players. What a hypocrite. So I totally understood where she was coming from.
Sacrifice, betrayal, friendship, and guilt are all in this episode...
absolute belter of an episode was not expecting to hit like this, this episode took this show from solid to really good for me
Exactly! Didn’t expect it at all!
Ah yes, episode 6....
Wait a bit before starting man, I need to get the tissues again
Good luck 😭didn’t expect an ep of this show to hit me so hard
Finished squid game yesterday, still depressed as fuck. Definitely one of the top 10 most depressing shows of all time, wait till you see the last 3 episodes.
Fr, I was watching from ep 6 on, saying "F*** this show" but I couldn't stop watching to see how it ended
The old man and sae- Byeok & Ali just killed it for me Ali didn’t deserve that shit there are people like him in the world just good people I wouldn’t even dare do something like that can’t trust nobody the moment he got mad I would have never trusted that man to begin with.
Oh no now I’m scared… I just finished this episode and it was so freaking painful to watch
나는 그냥 그랬는데.. 처음부터 힌트가 나와요. 누가 주인공인지. 왜 1 번은 1 번이고 이정재가 자주 비치는지
Such a GOOD series! I choked up when I saw Ali’s face! Can’t wait for ep 7 reaction!
The moment he realised 🥺🥺😭
As a Korean guy who grew up in Korea during my childhood, I played all the marble games shown in the show when I was young (even vs odd number, marble throwing to the pond, marble throwing close to the wall, etc).. Even the marbles they used are exactly the same marbles I used back in my childhood. Very nostalgic.. Welcome to Korean show .. T_T.
The best person in this show is the girl who died. She isn't selfish, didn't kill or deceive anyone. It's just sad she didn't have the will to die bc she didn't have anyone left and couldn't imagine a future for herself :(
U mean Ji-yeong? And yea, to me, her death was saddest. Especially since she was my fav character
THIS EPISODE 😭😭😭
I’m still sad about it 😭
The old man is incredibly endearing. What an actor! I saw someone in the comments saying he's mostly done theatre, which makes sense, as I have the impression some actors who are so much in love with acting go on stage. Great for Korean theatre audience.
The actor who plays Gi-hun is also fantastic. In the first episode he's a bit cheesy, so I didn't know his range, but now I do. He conveys so many different emotions so well.
I think the reason Ali's death was so upsetting to me, is that it was not fair play, and Sang-woo also calculated the whole thing by playing on Ali's weaknesses (his trust and naivity).
The gangster with the fringe, although disgusting, was hilarious when he said "NO!" with his tongue out and that voice. Needed that comic relief.
I started this show because the doll was creepy. I hadn’t heard of the hype, I hadn’t heard of the show, but it’s the spooky month and I thought I’d check it out. It hit me deeper than the lore vs lore memes are deep.
I did not expect to see Joe cry, but I did too😭
I didn’t expect it 😭
Love your reaction so sincere...I'm crying again watching your reaction..
Sorry about that 😅😭
thanks Joe for reacting to this show! been watching your reactions since elite
Thank you so much! 🙌🏼☺️
I still haven't got over this episode since I finished it 3 weeks ago. Greetings from Brazil, dude!
omg you finally got to this fvcking episode. i was SOBBING, that i had to wait to the next day to continue with the rest episodes i-. honestly this one is for strong people
Unless its a HBO production or a BBC with Sir David Attenborough narrating, I'm not sure how I go back to be watching Hollywood tv shows after this. Squid Game make most of them look like child play in every aspects (pun intended).
I recommend Kingdom - another Netflix show. Zombie apocalypse in ancient Korean period drama setting and awesome reviews.
If you like Squid Game, maybe you will like D.P.
I prefer D.P. - another Netflix Korean TV Show
It is also brutal but heartbreaking
Who would've known an episode about literally losing your marbles could be so soul-wrenching? I've already finished the show and I have lots of thoughts but even just watching reaction clips gets me 😭😭😭. I love that this show didn't hold back. When it was brutal, it was BRUTAL. When it was depressing, it wasn't afraid to hit *so* close to home. When it wanted to give you a sad character death, IT GAVE YOU THREE BACK TO BACK 😱😭
6편이 끝난후 슬픔을 참다가
흘리시는 진실한 리액션은 제가 본
어떤 리액션 보다 강력합니다 !! 짝짝짝!!
yes this is the one
absolutely shattered me
I appreciate you understanding Sang-woo and truly understaning the situation they are in, all the the other reactions i have seen always end up hating him for tricking Ali. They judge him so hard as if they are so much better, its a matter of life and death and you wont just give up.
Yeah it sucks because Ali was wholesome but the guy was about to die and he’d know Ali for 4 days, of course he was gonna try to do anything to live. Don’t like him but I get it
you can see they were already gganbu for each other before game. they exchanged their jaket already
OMG this episode 😭!!! Amazing acting 👌. I loved your reaction!!
Thank you so much!!!
Yea I cried too tho the episode 6 is the saddest btw I know your language but I can't type it
Ali's sadness and pain after his friend Sangwoo's betrayal, understanding he'll never see his family again made me cry
Ji-Yeon's last words to Sae-Byek and her thankful smile, wishing for her to live and be happy made me close my eyes, cry harder and wish for it to stop
Il-Nam forgiving Gy-Hun, giving him his last marble and hugging him, assuring everything would be all right while we walked away, only hearing the last gunshot of the game... Destroyed me
The girl dying makes me cry... I kind of expect people to be betraying and cheat to win but it's more rare for some one to give their life up for others so her death hits hard.
This show is just superb, i mean GENIUS! GENIUS, the best show i've seen recently, damn
For sure! I’m so impressed!
This episode... especially this episode... please, I need more tissues...
So good it’s unreal!
I'm not crying, you're crying! 😭 The acting was quietly superb in so many small ways.
No YOURE crying!
I was in awe of my emotional connection to the main cast in such a short amount of time, this show is incredibly well written, acted and directed, it is perfect.
That episode was soooo good, I was lying in front of the TV while watching it but as soon they said that the partners have to compete against each other I was sitting and holding my pillow through the rest of the episode because it was so tense!
Ji-yeong’s death was the saddest for me
You know what made Ali's death even worse... when Ali is calling for Sang-woo, the captions say "Sang-woo" but Ali actually said "Hyung (형)" which means "big brother". I cried 😭
Bruh😭😭
The acting is on point. The actors in the show as well!
let's be honest this episode destroyed us all
Let’s be honest….yes
In the previous game, their teamwork was.. the best. So this game feels more cruel to me. In the previous episode, the pink soldiers told the doctor that they didn't know about the next game, this is why. The game is decided by the player. Some play actual games, some sacrifice, and others betray. This episode is a masterpiece.
This episode is so good and got even better when you decided reacting to alice in borderland too I'm excited
Though why not! People have been so nice to night aswell
This show was so great....and yeah I shed a couple tears as well
Only a couple! You’re one of the lucky ones 😞
I just watched this one earlier as well. I was a slobbering mess. This show amazes me truly.
I actually had to blow my nose! That’s when you know shit just got real
this epi is bringing out the worst and the best of ppl.
ep.6 absolutely crached me 😢 😢
I’m still recovering it seems
As a Korean, I really loooved your reaction vedios to Squid Game! Thank you for the enjoyable clips. Keep up the good work! You seem to have such a good heart to cry over TV shows even if that's rare for you (when I didn't shed even a single tear over ep. 6) Just subscribed to your channel.
FYI, if you care for shows that have very healthy heartwarming energy, humanity and beautiful vulnerability, I recommend another K drama 'When Camellia blooms'. I ugly cried over that one. It's totally different from these kind of very exciting cliffhanger suspense series, but it definitely has its own value that heals your heart with warmth and resonate with you. Although its not a Netflix original, you can watch it on Netflix too. Some may not like that show as much as I did, but I promise it's worth watching. I rarely watch TV shows in general ( cause almost every TV show is so fun that makes you involved so much and comsume quite a lot of your time / affects your emotions even after watching, so I try to stay away from series, even webtoons lol) and I don't regret I started that one 2 years ago. I accidentally happened to watch that show due to my sister's explanation. I could relate so much and got comforted watching it. Maybe it had more impact for me as I was going through a hard time and got hurt. It helped me so much to wanna live as each episode reaffirmed the reasons and meaning of life in a community.
You might find it a bit boring at first and could drop it, but I recommend just keep watching the first 6-7 episodes until it pans out to be more interesting to you. I promise it will make you wanna live a life with more care for people around you when you feel vulnerable and need something to lean on sometime in your life.
I CRIED SO HARD. This ep had no reason being this sad. The fact that i already got attached to the characters and it was only 6 eps through
Yeah they’ve done such an amazing job with these characters!
episode 2 make a foundation
episode 4 build a building
episode 6 burn them all ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Aha, tear our hearts out, one tear at a time ✊🏼
Best reaction. Man, I was devastated.
Ali didn't yell "Sang-woo", but "Hyung", which means "older brother", and is used for an older guy who you love and respect as an older brother :')
This episode was emotional and heartbreaking at the same time. Thank you, Joe.
Completely off-topic but I can totally see you casted as Zeke in a live-action Attack On Titan.
Actually not the first time I’ve heard that 😅
The Ali betrayal cut me deep! 😭
Your reaction was exactly what I expected from you. Your heart is so pure. That’s why I love watching you. ❤️
Watch kingdom! It’s another Netflix original kdrama. It’s about a zombie apocalypse set in the joseon era in Korea. It’s amazing, you’ll love it.
This episode was a tragedy.
19:28 Yes you have to watch Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (2003). He s playing on old monk in it, it s a great movie
Geezzzzzz man. This freaking serie!!
SO GOOD!
this episode is heart breaking and a bit of a tearjerker
Only a bit? Blasphemous
Damn ive already seen this show but seeing ur reaction made me cry again 😢😢😭😭💔💔
😭😭😭😭
my favorite ep... I die every time
Bruh how many lives you got!
I cried with you , ali’s death he was so cute and trusting this just wasn’t the game for him. He was a adorable though. And ji-yeon only knew her for 2 episodes but she had a such a sad going out . They had me dying
Yes, episode was amazing. But lets not forget, this episode was great because of the previous 5 episodes. Its only because we were so attached to the characters that this episode worked. The character development was just top notch. Kudos to the writers.
Love the doggy and the video reactions
Thank you!!!
My boy hopped in his bag on this one 😔 stay strong
This episode of squid game broke me and yes it was the best episode of the entire show 10/10 for sure. Also I'm so happy that you are considering reacting to Alice in borderland that show is so good too and if you liked squid game you will for sure enjoy this one too. Totally recommended .
It's always fun to watch people cry while watching episode 6. lol
I'm actually so mad. Why they have to kill all the likeable Characters. #JustforAliandJiyeong
It represent a real life, once u trust the wrong person, U DEAD.
I’m crying again watching your reaction to it, I’m going to finish the other episodes tomorrow I can’t cry again, god my sister and brother told me that it was good, I knew it would be good since it’s a Korean/Japanese game, they always have good tv shows and movies, but my god I got attached to Old Man first episode, he was so adorable I love old people, so literally I’m at the computer and then realize what he was doing and tricking him and I started crying when he forgot what he said, and he’s just so innocent 🥺 god I fucking cried so hard, you know when you wanna cry out loud, but you’re trying not to? that was me, my moms bf came inside to sleep and I know he must of heard me crying at the computer desk, and thought why tf is she crying at 2 in the morning is when I watched that episode. his parts in the show were so hard 😭😭😭😭😭
No piece of media has ever made me cry as much as this episode just did.
Was so well done 😭
I cried so much during this episode 😭 especially old people always get me 😔
gganbu is one of the masterpieces. I cried a lot, even though I have watched it again and again.
I legit cried again watching your reaction
sometimes i play like that Oldman, pretend to be stupid to test your friend honesty. And its TRUE they will BETRAYED YOU if they had the change.
The toughest losses for me were:
Il nam, then the girl, then Ali.
Those two accepted their fate for the other person
kdramas are the best at making you cry
I’ll keep this in mind going forward!😂
Pls tears streaming down my face rn 😭
Go get those tissues and blow your nose 😭
we all cried
I thought that would be the case 😂😅
Your reaction is legit. Same feelings. This episode is best out of all, next the final ep and 1st one.
this episode broke me. wait for the next episodes and they'll even broke you more!
저도 6화는 볼때마다 울게되여ㅜ 리액션너무 잘봤어요
I ended up thinking a lot after this epi 😭 What a writing
My boy Ali 😭💔
My guy was just too trusting 😭
I just got done watching this episode. Everything was going fine until Sae-byeok and Ji-yeong played their game and without warning I am crying like a baby.
My heart broke for Ali 😭
He’s such a legend 🥺
이 에피소드 울지 않을 수 없었어요ㅜㅜ
your dog is adorable 🥺💞✨
And omg YES I love Alice in Borderland! The two shows are slightly similar in plot but are vastly different; AiB is less of a commentary about capitalism and more dystopian sci fi than anything. Everything from tone to world building to character development is wayyy different, so don’t go into AiB thinking it’ll be like Squid Game!
Props to sungwoo for being so quick on his feet
If you guys liked Gi -Hoon's acting, I recommend a movie called "The Face Reader(관상)". You'll see a very different person. You can probably see it on Netflix.
😭😭😭 I hate sang woo which sucks BC I was fighting for him BC of his mom having such good character, but I can’t defend him. On top of that Sae Byeok/ 067’s acting was incredible even though this is her first acting job
Player 001 played him like he lost all his marbles when he was just testing him would lie to survive
Alice in borderland is amazing show !
my therapist will be hearing about episode 6, also YESSS alice in borderland please
The acting shown by the supporting/minor characters here is simply superb.
This could have been another typical soap without their top-class acting.
Koreans call the person they trust 'hyung' instead of a name or social position. Ail called Sangwoo 'Boss' in the first meet, but this episode, he called Sangwoo 'hyung' (Actually, Sangwoo said call me 'hyung').
