Joe’s reactions everytime the vips said something. 😂😂😭😭💀💀
So bloody awful 😭
I’m honestly entertained by people’s reaction to the VIPs, and surprised they reacted so strongly. I guess it’s a lot of people’s first introduction to Kdrama antics but this is pretty commonplace whenever they need a “foreign” character to speak English 😂😂
Iconic end to an iconic character like Mi-Nyeo. She went out on her own terms. Better than what most people get in this show
The VIPs were just awful at acting I found it so funny. But that's actually pretty consistent in K-Dramas my sister jokes that they just grab any non-Asian looking person and go "ok read this for me". There's a couple I've seen where the actor is a white person but you can tell they've lived in Korea their entire lives lmao
“Lived in Korea their entire lives” I doubt that 😂 based on what I know about foreigners in SK and a bit of my own experience, there’s a high chance those non-Korean actors (especially caucasians) are foreigners who’s been living in Korea for 3-5 years, working as English teachers during the day ‘cause the job’s real easy to get (you basically just need to lie you’re from the US or Australia and have some college degree and that’s all they’ll check)
i'm pretty sure the VIP's acting was deliberate
Lmao this is supeeeer common in korea there just arent that many good foreign actors that are also capable of working in an otherwise completely korean production
The vip acting here is actually better than the average id say 😭
The next two episodes will shock you, can’t wait to see your face after that lmao; i think you will be satisfied with the ending i guess heh.
I already watched ep 8 and I’m so sad 😭watching the finale tomorrow
not seeking attention but u literally bring joy and comfort in my life lately, after a long day of college/work just straight up watching joe aka trophy muncher is just cozy and stress reliever👊 cheers!
Wow, that’s so wholesome 🥺I’m really glad this channel is a place you feel you can get some enjoyment from! Thank you so much for the comment, made me smile ☺️
The vip's line delivery is so bad😂
Was bloody awful 😭who did they HIRE
This is the funniest reaction video Ive ever watched. Great work! 👍😂
This is my fave game of the series. My heart was pounding in this episode.
Also the VIPs; the consensus was that the acting was bad (it was) and that they just grabbed any white person they could get their hands on for these shows, but I read a couple of interviews about squid game that stated they were just portraying Americans how they're seen in the east. Loud, obnoxious, unfunny, over the top and obvious. When you think about it, this is like nearly every American tourist we see over here too. It's a sort of revenge for how Asian actors are portrayed in western media (weak, bad actors, unmasculine etc)
Also, have you thought that we are the VIPs? We are sitting in comfort, nameless, faceless, watching these people die for entertainment. We are repulsed by those people and yet we're the same.
Interesting theory on the white guys actually, I get what they were going for with that, however I don’t think it worked with the actors they chose, just came across as really out of place, would’ve rather they just shut up, which again, was maybe the point, but still 😭😂
the frontman is played by an A-list Korean actor. i don't know if they were able to afford having him act out the scenes where he's in a mask but if they did that might be the reason you can tell his acting is good. the reveal of who played the frontman was more shocking to me than anything else.
The actor could have been anyone under the mask really, they only needed the actual actor during the face reveal
11:19 this is so funny HAHA
great reaction as always! ☺️
Your voice when you said "Keep doing that!" was priceless haha, that level of exasperation. I mean.....it's wishful thinking that he keeps landing on tempered glass?
I’m so glad this came out right as all my socials just went down 😂 I’ll be entertained for the next 20 minutes
I hope it kept you entertained 😂
Surprisingly how these billionaires acquired their fortune to fund this game since they surely can’t speak. 😂😂😂
They can deliver some BANGER JOKES THIUGH AMIRITE?! 69 BANTEREEERRRRR
For kdramas if you liked squid game I recommend the show extracurricular!! 10 episodes and all amazing shot and thought-provoking!
YES !!!!! Up ^^^^
I knew I could count on you to clown the acting of the VIPs 😭 I thought I was the only one lmao
i have a few recommendations for kdramas to watch! all very different from each other in storyline and genre:
(just a quick note that kdramas normally all have 16 episodes, very few have more or less and almost none get a second season because the entire story is planned to be told in just these 16 episodes which imo is a good thing because why unnecessarily draw out a story that doesn't need to be? kdramas feel like 16 hour long movies anyway)
*D.P/ deserter pursuit* - very new netflix drama about a guy in the korean army who starts working as a d.p to bring back people who fled the army. it really shows you the darkest realities people in the army there can face and it's directed so well, definitely one of the best mystery/thriller like dramas of this year. if you liked squid game this one has the closest vibe to that out of my suggestions. this one has only 6 episodes so you should get through it pretty quickly
*it's okay to not be okay* - (netflix) more of a romance/romcom drama but i must say i've seen my fair share of korean romance dramas and this is by far the best one imo, was hugely popular in south korea and among kdrama fans last year. has an interesting storyline and the cinematography is just gorgeous. it takes place at a psych ward and features two brothers (one who is autistic) and a woman who has antisocial personality disorder. the drama does a great job of being able to make you laugh and cry in the same scene, i always highly recommend it for people who are just getting into kdramas
*flower of evil* - a mystery/suspense drama (it's not on netflix but on rakuten viki which is a legal streaming service for asian dramas, it's just 5 dollars a month and has hundreds of kdramas on there, most of the best ones are on that site. if you're willing to dive into more kdramas you'll find a lot there). this drama is about baek heesung who hides his past and real identity from his wife cha jiwon who is a detective and their little 6 year old daughter eunha who live a very happy and on-the-surface perfect life but things start to crumble when jiwon and her team start looking into the serial murder case that involves her husband. (this is my fav kdrama of last year)
*the devil judge* - it's kind of a mystery legal(?) drama. it takes place in a dystopian version of south korea where kang yohan gets appointed as the chief judge of a live court where trials get broadcasted live all over the country and the public gets to decide via an app how culprits get punished. has very morally grey characters especially yohan the main character and really gets you thinking about society and what's right and wrong. the storyline throughout is very gripping and the acting is just *chefs kiss* just like the budget, probably the higest budget kdrama i've ever seen, it's almost movie-like. this is my personal favorite of all time :) this is also n rakuten viki btw
*the uncanny counter* - (this one is on netflix btw) a mystery/fantasy drama about a guy named so-moon who suddenly gains powers and joins a group of demon hunters posing as workers in a noodle shop to catch evil spirits that crave to find eternal life. it has a bit of a lighter tone than the two above but i found their take on the fantasy genre and the story very intriguing and fun but still emotional and action-heavy.
*taxi driver* - (rakuten viki) an action drama about a group of people working at an undercover 'operation' named "Rainbow Taxi Company" who regain justice that the korean society has lost by seeking revenge on criminals who get away with their evil deeds. also one of my favorites but isn't as well known internationally (idk why it's completely brilliantly written and acted) but definitely worth mentioning.
really glad to see you dive into more kdramas and i hope this was helpful! i know a lot of other have recommended sweet home which is a very gore-y horror drama on netflix, i've heard great things about it but personally haven't watched it because i hate everything involving gore. happy watching and i'm excited to see you reacting to more! :)
I can’t even, I love how so many of the comments are about how terrible the VIPs we’re at acting. They really did suck.
I'm waiting for your reaction to Sweet Home. It's also a good netflix show with epic monsters and characters.
Yesss, i hated that they changed the original ending of the webtoon :/ but it's still similar enough to be good. Hoping they adapt Bastard as well
Yes! I second this. But I am looking forward to his reaction to Alice in Borderland. :)
I would suggest Kingdom! It's a very novel take on the 'zombie' genre!
If you like the cop on this show, I just caught him in “Midnight”. He plays a serial killer hunting a mother and daughter who are both hearing impaired. Total nail biter, very entertaining!
7:56 My favorite part
At least you guys understand what they say. Whenever Korean is spoken in Hollywood movies, Koreans are like what they are saying? Lol
HAHA I love your reactions to the VIPs! Their scripts sound like they were written by an 8 year old lol
Bruh I die laughing Everytime when I hear these VIP actors aka NPCs as I call them ...they should like GTA5 NPCs when you listen in on their conversations 🤣🤣🤣
The way you yelled Shut Up!! makes my day. The actors are so bad I feel physical pain every time they open their mouths😫
Your reaction to the VIP's I was pissing myself lmao
I wanna die 😭
Do definitely watch the excellent “Kingdom” zombie series if you are getting into K-dramas, as it’s set in medieval Korea so it will be a very different experience, would love to see your reactions!
11:18 ~ 11:23 you're killing me 🤣
😭😭
I loved the glass shattering shot! 😩 think it’s so cool
Great comparison between the VIPs and the front man’s acting behind the masks. Yes, this front man got a strong acting background and won many awards. He’s one of the earliest gen for k-drama... looking forward for your reaction!
vip 연기에 기겁하는거 존나 웃겨ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
VIP speaking like videogame characters
I highly recommend you a Netflix drama called "extracurricular."
It's not a Battle Royale genre, but it's the most tense Korean thriller ever.
I'm 100% sure you will love it!
Seriously?
Pls thats boring
I loved it sm, it’s a shame they’re not doing a season 2
so happy ur gonna be posting reactions to alice and borderland i just started it as well. loving the reactions man. i normally watch korean dramas so it’s not new to me but this show is definitely amazing and i enjoyed watching glad u are as well.
Yeah I feel like this was a god show to start with so sure there are some fantastic shows out there to react to
I was actually very grateful that you were reacting to this dorama, just when I finished watching I came to RUclips to watch reactions, luckily you are one of the RUclipsrs who's reacting, which pleases me a lot as I always I end up coming back here to see your videos, I find your comments very nice and sometimes make me think about things I didn't consider when I watched. In fact, I was even surprised when I saw that I still hadn't subscribed to your channel, but already resolved, a new subscriber to follow you ((I'm looking forward to your Alice in Borderland reactions too!! Since I noticed in one of the comments that you said you were thinking about reacting)).
Anyway, I hope you're having a good day. :))
Aw thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoy the videos and stuff 😭🙌🏼
for another kdrama i highly highly recommend "its okay not to be okay" its also on netflix alot different to this but still amazing
I think great kdramas to dive into would be kingdom, vagabond or extracurricular as said by other commenters. Another one I really love is while you were sleeping (romance, fantasy, thriller) it’s one I’ve gone back to rewatch a lot
There's a thriller mystery k-drama called "Mouse" You probably will get overwhelmed by the number of episode (20 eps)
But you will have a blast watching it! Twist over twist
It's actually funny that this isn't the first person I heard say the vips acting was bad/cheesy
i’d personally love to see you watch some more kdramas in general in the future, in my opinion they’re far more superior than western tv shows and have better storylines, but i’ll let you finish squid game and possibly start alice in borderland before i dump a ton suggestions on you hahaha
I think this episode mixed the Korean and American actors together. Thank you, Joe!
First time when i heard the vip talking i tought it was dubbed for fck sake they broke my ear 😂
Dude, I laughed alot at your reaction to the vips XD.
Because I am a Korean, their acting is not awkward to me at all. But apparently, it seems they are awful at acting, and I have been having really fun at watching native speakers' reaction to the VIPs. It is damn hilarious, jeeh XD
Another Korean show that you need to react if you want to is Sweet home this is insane show
i loved the VIPs. They're terrible jokes make sense since they're out of touch wealthy dudes.
your videos are amazing i always laugh haha
Thank you for watching them!
Lmao u roasting them is gold
I just CANNOT with them😭😂
We are vips watching this xD
Some Kdrama you can find on Netflix : Strangers from Hell (creepy & intense) ; Vincenzo (suspens & really funny at the same time) ; Uncanny Counters (emotional, action and fantasy) ; Tunnel (very good police kdrama)... and so much more ! Welcome in this all new world :P
Have you recovered from the previous episode? I don't think i ever will haha. Everytime i see that scene in a reaction video or meme i want to cry. Poor ali! 🥺
Bro the vip voices made me wanna 🙂🔫
You should give a chance to kdramas! Of course there are the classic rom com ones which I don’t like very much myself, but stuff like “The Kingdom” “extra curricular “ sweet home” there all so good. I find that Korean directors do such a good job with horror/thrillers bc they never had Hollywood to ruin those tropes lol. And also just the difference in like cultural perspective I guess? But they do horror/thrillers sooooo well I highly recommend you give them a shot
I’m definitely gonna give them more of a chance now! Not that i was against the idea beforehand I just didn’t have much of an excuse to delve in, now I do
10:38 리액션 웃겨ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
After watching a ton of K Dramas I have noticed that when they have foreign actors they are usually pretty bad. But seeing as not that many Koreans are fluent or have high level in English it's not that surprising that judging acting in another language is hard to valuate.
I hated the vips oh lord. But junho (I think that's his name) was badass
loved your reaction
Thank you so much!🥺
VIPs seem bad but in the English dub that was how the whole show was so it just was more of the same
Now I think you just binge it
If you decide to watch more Kdramas I’d recommend Tunnel, Strangers from Hell, and Beyond Evil, and Move to Heaven. BE and MTH are my favorites, but all of these are good imo!
Reaction to Sweet home please 😔👌
lol I just Say that
I interpreted the VIPs cringiness as being intentional, they gave me some good laughs but mostly disgust really 😳😬
I recommend you watching strangers from hell, if you want to watch more k-dramas. It’s really good and it’s on Netflix ♥️
Alice in Boderland is amazing! Definitely give it a try... you won't be disappointed
Ms.Sunshine!
i didnt even realise how bad the VIP acting was until you mentioned it
Yeah, bloody terrible
Should have called this ep 69
Yes, the VIPs were the worst thing about this 🤣
And there are so many popular kdramas. But one of my favourites was called Tri-Angle (2014). The first few episodes were a bit...meh. But then it got really interesting and I couldnt wait for the next episodes. It's about a brother who lost his two younger brothers as a kid and is trying to find them.
I’m pretty sure the actors were just Americans on Korean military base because there’s not usually white actors in Korea lol
YOU SHOULD TRY WATCHING SWEET HOME, STRANGERS FROM HELL, AND SAVE ME. THOSE ARE SOME OF THE BEST THRILLERS FROM SOUTH KOREA. YOU CAN ALSO WATCH ALICE IN BORDERLAND, WHICH IS ALMOST LIKE A JAPANESE VERSION OF SQUID GAME.
Your reaction is funny 😄 The most annoying were the VIP 👎 Love squid game 🦑
They were tragic haa
11:19 Lol😂
4:12 literally the first thing I said while watching this “what in the furry?” They were def the worst part of this show
Great 👍 reaction! Highly highly recommend Kingdom and Move to Heaven. Stick to K-dramas which are less than 10 episodes per season. Tighter writing and stronger plot.
Are you British? So funny when you mimic enlgish speaking of actors lol
i feel like this show would be near perfect if it wasnt for the vips, their acting was so painful to sit through - but in a way it represents how badly represented asian languages are in english movies 😭
Literally!!!!
Didn't think much of them at first, but watching back, yeah, the VIPs were super cringe. 😆 At least this time it's the Westerners who play the overplayed foreign stereotypes and not the Asians. So maybe the writer and director wanted to make it as cringy as possible lol
I recommend The Penthouse! Not known a lot internationally, but insanely popular in South Korea! 3 seasons, 48 episodes, and an amazing storyline and cast. The show follows number of wealthy families and the ambition and greed that makes people do evil things. Definitely one of my top 5 Kdramas of all time!
Love 067
I do definitely think the VIPs delivery was supposed to be campy and awkward and a characechure of the indulgent, hunt-men-for-sport kind of white rich man, definitely don't think they were intended to be intimidating
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ아 vip따라하는거 ㅈㄴ웃긴다
Vincenzo!! It's about a guy in mafia who moves back to South Korea, it is really good. Full of action, sad moments, and great characters!
the VIPs are so cringey pls had to pause so many times bc of secondhand embarrassment
Bruh, how do they sleep at night thinking their banter is of the purest form of comedy!
Honestly the VIP:s acting took down my final score of the show by 2 points... it kind of ruined it a lot...they should have just shut up or at least give them less lines like "thank you for having us" and nothing more
Agreed, they should’ve had a more mysterious vibe about them, not cringe
🤙🏻🤓Guys I haven't seen the show, just Tiktoks, is it worth it?
For the squid game V.I.P.s:
V: very
.
I: inappropriate
.
P: people
V.I.P.s = very inappropriate people
The VIP actors are so bad I’m sorry- or maybe I’m just so used to hearing a different language that English sounds ugly LMAO
Thb i died everytime when vip speak is too cringe
Same bro 😭😂
Genuinely, without the VIPs this would of been a perfect season but holy cow they are so bad that it takes you out of the episode. I love the idea of the VIPs but the way they were portrayed was terrible. Very unfortunate because everything else in this episode is amazing. If the show wasn't so great up to this point the VIPs might of made me stop watching lol.
Why were they SO BAD!😭
The VIPs are the most irritating people in the show. Their dialogue is terrible & the acting is sloppy as hell. Maybe the bench for who could play those roles was shallow
100% agree
the vips are the one horrible thing about this show 😂😂
Absolutely tragic😭😂
lol every white person appearance in a kdama is cringey. this is just your christening lol
I’ll be more prepared next time haah
I mean, as far as I know koreans can't get western characters
u reacting to "the boys"?
Crash Landing on You(2020), Signal(2016), Goblin(2016)
Shout out to the vips trash 😭
Yeah big shout out to the guy who thinks 69 jokes are the bees bloody knees!
Not to be racist but if u bring a white person in a K-Drama it’s kinda cringe
first!
k 드라마 ( 사랑의 불시착 )
리액션 부탁드립니다 ^^
