On top of steak or a hamburger. Paired with avacado. On a baked potato. Something about the taste just drives me wild.
A bag of these sprouts at the market is like 3 bucks where I live, you can buy a 1pd bag on Amazon for 15 dollars and grow equivalent to 32 bags, that would be $128 if you kept buying them at the store.
Now that I will definitely have time to do that!!! Absolutely love it!!! Im type of person who loves salad without the lettuce. This would be a great addition. Thanks Jeff!!! 🙏🏻💙🙏🏻

Like the other commenters I am finding it's confusing to rinse at all. I am sprouting a HUGE batch (half a bag of Good and Gather's Organic Lentils) just fine after straining the initial soak water. I simply shake up the large container aggressively a few times a day and make sure there at least a BIT of water at the bottom. With the lid, the humidity is kept very high. As it been a short while (like 4 or so days now) I am having it slightly opened for air exchange.
Not every seed is the same. Mung beans don't need as much rinsing either. Lentils have a larger surface area and sprout far faster, hence less need for rinsing.
Hi Jeff Just to clarify, on my question, I asked you a second ago about the broccoli sprouts having the fuzziness look to a few of them. I also did alfalfa and bean and they don’t have that looked at them.
Thank you for a lovely video. One question. You keep mentioning air ... and we all know air is needed to grow any plant. Yet, your jars are closed all the time ... do we need to buy a special jar with a netted lid, or a closed lid will do?
Great question. Because we wash the young sprouts daily, the air exchange is plenty for them. Its all they need. For the final stage, Alfalfa is grown in a clamshell that is not airtight.....the same kind its in when you buy it at the store.
Jeff is there a reason that some say to use cheesecloth over the top with a canning lid. You are using a canning lid and ring. One would give air and the other will not🤷🏼
Exactly Michele. If you're rinsing less, using a permeable lid is really good for air exchange. I'm opening mine up 4x daily and it seems to be enough air change

Yes, the sprouting seeds will grow full on Alfalfa plants no problem! Just usually about double the price, or more.
So where do you get the seeds and exactly which company makes them
step 7 you say light and air but you leave the lid on do you ever take the lid off in step 7?
Why is the rinsing process so crucial? I inoculated and grew an entire horse pasture, 2.5 acers, with alfalfa simply by scratching the surface of the pasture with the tines of a box-scrape; lifted the scrape-blade to get the tines about 2-inches below the surface while creating a near-level surface (ground cover included).
