Elden Ring led me to read Gene Wolfe. Heard it would have the same atmosphere. I have a similar Severian build with Marais Executioner sword, gold mask, and gravekeeper cloak. My translation of Severian into the Land's Between. Cool man! Love the stuffs
What does that executioner in that book even do? Just goes around torturing people? I could never bring myself to read that book because of that thought
I literally finished reading the Urth of The New Sun over the weekend. Love to see a Sevarian build. In the lands between and all the similarities to parts of fromsoft worlds. Like the sword of Saint Trina looking SO MUCH like Terminus Est on the cover of the first edition
@@Eizengoldthe gets exiled very early in the story and primarily goes on some Elric of Melnibone style slapstick dying earth fantasy adventures while also being a traveling headsman. It's a very interesting take on the heroes journey and worth a read if you like 1980's pulp fantasy
@Eizengoldt Severian is a pretty bad guy for most at the series and questionable all throughout. But he also experiences many different things throughout his journey, and that journey is definitely worth checking out
He also has perfect recall as long as he's conscious when it happens. So he's very rational in a very interesting internal monologue sort of way. It's very interesting and a fun post apocalypse fantasy world set in South America. Like, the capitol city is in North Chile I think, but everything is named with Greek mythology names
I invaded some guys and they had a fool proof base at fort haight where you would go in and they would spam certain arrows that did so much damage. i maybe invaded them 50 times because i just wanted to end their scheme and got so close;then, i couldnt invade them anymore.
Praise Book Of The New Sun! It's the perfect series for people who geek out on cryptic Fromsoft lore. I wish more people were into it. I could talk about BOTNS for days
I just finished book 5, The Urth of The New Sun this last weekend! Incredible timing. I read them because they were suggested as feeling like fromsoft games, so spot on 🙌🏻 I love the Sevarian build. And damn that invasion was so stagnant 🤣 great that we both posted Marias Executioner's Sword showcases in the same day

Thats why I always keep near some ironjar aromatics. They are soo useful in certain situations
