I specifically remember having that 1997 quarter as a child and thinking about just how weird it was that a metal that cannot rust somehow rusted (not realizing it was the exposed copper) and I thought nothing of so I just spent it 🤦♂️
I just won a 1889 Indian head penny, very nice bold strikes coin, what's special about it is it has a die break thru the face deforming the face. I'm almost positive it's a die broke coin. From the pics it doesn't look damaged, it's one end of the penny roll I paid 300 for. But other ends a very brilliant gold colored 1957 flying eagle. I plan on sending both to get graded. I was wondering would ya like to see pics of them when I get em before I send to get graded?
I get a lot of change from the staff of a 24 hour restaurant. I'll trade paper money for whatever coin tips they have. I got a 1928 penny, and several '40's to '50's, this way. Sometimes the paper exceeds the coin value but they work pretty hard for tips so it works out well for them. A *certain* shift will trade out coins from the register as well. If you, by chance, meet the guy who collects the coins at the car wash, negotiate a deal with them. Whatever coins you find abandoned are legally the finders property then. Check drives throughs,,,, but don't hold up traffic. First though, tell them what you are doing. Theyre not liable for you getting run over. Hahaha!

It is blank on the obverse and on the reverse it is blank all the way round the rim and in the middle thats when you can tell what kind of coin it is !! It has in the middle a man looking out at a platau and a eagle( i think) below that is the letters "yose" !! I looked up the coin and found it to be 2005 California state quarter!! What do you think of it??

At 7:59 of the video, the Washington quarter has 2 little divots on the end of his ponytail. I see this mark often on quarters. Please tell me what this is from? What causes these indentations?

Do you have a video that describes how to tell the difference between "damage" that is from a gouge or scratch in circulation versus a mint error???
Metal is usually raised from the coin rather then scratched into the coin

Yesterday from bank I got 4 rolls of quarters. Turns out I now have a 2011 P with major mint error. And a 2013 P also in mint strike error.
