    Thank you for the lessons. I make sure to watch all the ads.
    Just to be clear though, you said 何も・誰も mean nothing/no one, which I guess is not accurate; they are closer to anything/anyone, right? Otherwise, the sentences 何もありません・誰もいませんwould be double negatives. Would it be better to translate these sentences as "There isn't anything" and "There isn't anyone"?
    Would appreciate the clarification. Again, super thanks for doing this!

    I was going through the lesson for the second time when I noticed that - The second example in the time stamp 4.35 - " Maria is at home" should have followed the pattern - " N wa N(place)ni imasu" i.e Maria San wa uchi ni imasu.

    • @NihonGoal
      @NihonGoal  4 года назад +4

      Hello Madhurima, yes "Maria San wa uchi ni imasu(Maria is at home)" is correct but in this specific example we are following the pattern Place Ni Person GA imasu that's why I said "uchi Ni Maria san Ga imasu" which answers the question "Who is at home? -> It is Maria who is at home. If the question is "Where is Maria?" we can answer "Maria san wa uchi ni imasu(Maria is at home)" . I hope this helps :)

    Today this is the lesson I'm study. I would like to clarify about this two because I'm having some confusion about it.
    The pattern N(place) ni Noun ga imasu/ arimasu
    and the Noun wa N(place) ni arimasu/imasu.
    According to the video the first pattern is "There is a Noun in/at/on place and the second pattern the noun is in/on/ at the place.
    I'm just confuse because they are similar.
    Like the example Maria is at home.
    You used the pattern N(place) ni Noun ga imasu/ arimasu.
    "Uchi ni Maria-san ga imasu".
    Can we also use the other pattern which is Noun wa N(place) ni imasu/arimasu?
    "Maria-san wa uchi ni imasu"?

    10:12 garcia is in the office. here you don't use naka. but in 20:04 min you use he is in the shop with naka, it matters?

    • @oshiolol6361
      @oshiolol6361 5 лет назад +1

      It is optional as it says on the sentence that Garcia is in or (inside) the office, which lit. Means he is inside somewhere, so you can either use Garcia san wa jimusho no naka ni/ garcia san wa jimusho ni imasu. the particle "in" to Nihongo means に while "inside" is なか But since the sentence says Garcia is *in* the office, we can just use Garcia san wa jimusho ni imasu. Since the sentence didnt include the word "inside" that's why she only used the particle "に" which is understandable without using the word "なか"

    • @Zedorek

      I think I can answer that. In Noun _ Aimasu (to meet), the Ni particle is the one to use. That is a special case when it comes to the aimasu verb

      Hello! は(wa) is a TOPIC particle, when you say "A は blah..blah..blah" you are presenting a topic. As for A, blah blah blah.が(ga) is an IDENTIFIER particle, when you say ”A が blah..blah..blah". It's is A, that/who is blah..blah..blah.
      Let me demonstration through a scenario. Person1 and Person2 are at a party and they are talking about their other friends.
      Person1: Hey you know, Person3 eats a lot. ね、Person3 は いっぱいたべますね。。
      Person2: Really? It’s Person4 who eats a lot. ほんとう? Person4 が いっぱいたべますよ。 Look, it’s already her 3rd serving of rice.
      Do you see the difference?

      So basically if the topic in sentence is already obvious or he/she or if we are referring in general we can use は but if we are referring specifically to someone who's among the other Nouns we use が Instead..
