Hello Madhurima, yes "Maria San wa uchi ni imasu(Maria is at home)" is correct but in this specific example we are following the pattern Place Ni Person GA imasu that's why I said "uchi Ni Maria san Ga imasu" which answers the question "Who is at home? -> It is Maria who is at home. If the question is "Where is Maria?" we can answer "Maria san wa uchi ni imasu(Maria is at home)" . I hope this helps :)

Konnichiwa 😊 Today this is the lesson I'm study. I would like to clarify about this two because I'm having some confusion about it. The pattern N(place) ni Noun ga imasu/ arimasu and the Noun wa N(place) ni arimasu/imasu. According to the video the first pattern is "There is a Noun in/at/on place and the second pattern the noun is in/on/ at the place. I'm just confuse because they are similar. Like the example Maria is at home. You used the pattern N(place) ni Noun ga imasu/ arimasu. "Uchi ni Maria-san ga imasu". Can we also use the other pattern which is Noun wa N(place) ni imasu/arimasu? "Maria-san wa uchi ni imasu"?

I understand wa and ga thanks to this video but at the same time, I get confused 😂 it definitely depends on the sentence structure when it comes down to using the correct particle
This is very helpful I just notice on your example "Maria is at home." and "Mr. Garcia is in the office" the first one uses "ni" particle and the latter uses "ga" particle which confuses me. If you can enlighten me thank you po :)

23:58 sensei, why "eki no mae no biru desu" ? Why you don't use "ni" after "mae" ?. Bcs in the previous lesson, the form is *N no N (position) ni arimasu*
The particle "ni" isn't used because the verb in that sentence isn't "arimasu". If we use "ni" there, the sentence needs to be changed to "Eki no mae ni biru ga arimasu."
