**DISCLAIMER**
These lessons are based from the Minna No Nihongo Textbook (1st edition), which I chose because I’m familiar with it. But even if you don’t have the textbook, you can still follow along the lessons by just watching the video.
I'm not a native Japanese speaker nor am I a Japanese language teacher. I'm currently living in Japan and I use Japanese at work and daily life. I’m sharing what I’ve learned from my language school and through self-study. I’ve passed the JLPT N3 exam and am planning to take the JLPT N2 test in the future. So if you find any mistakes, feel free to let know so that we can all learn together. Thank you!

I'm really happy when my lessons are helpful. Thank you for watching, @shanmukasai478! ✌😉
Konnichiwa Rose sensei, I wanna ask question on 18.39 you were used particle O between shigoto and owarimasu. So far on my nihongo lesson, I just know owarimasu only can following by particle GA. Can u explain why you use particle O on it? Thank you!
Oh you are right, it should be particle GA., "shigoto ga owaranaito.." literally "Work must be finished". It can also be "shigoto o oenaito" (but not a very common sentence) from the verb "oemasu" meaning "to finish" which is the transitive verb for "owarimasu". Thank you for the correction. :)
at point 5:15 I think so too . why we doesnt use わたしもそうとおもいます? (excluded と for??)
Thanks!
It's a joy teaching when I have such supportive viewers like you, @shanmukasai478! お疲れ様でした!🌼🎊

01:05 seconds: can we use polite form instead of plain form
No, it should be the plain form. :)
Hi!
@4:25 what would be the difference between:
フィリピン人について何と思いますか
VS.
フィリピン人についてどう思いますか
Would both be correct? Would a Japanese understand me if I use 何と instead of どう? Thank you!!
Really good video. I have a question with this answer "アベンジャーズがかつ..." why do you use the particle が. It´s a reduce form of のほうが?
It is to answer the question "どちら が かつ/Which ONE will win?"->answer: "アベンジャーズがかつ/IT IS THE Avengers who will win" Here the particle "ga" is an identifier particle (which one?-> Avenger IS THE ONE who will win)
I need to leave this obscure comment to help me recall information later when I'm not online. This links the new information (low chance of retention) to old information that's firmly nested in my brain. Yes rote learning helps with memorisation but this is the next best thing if you're short on time
8:12 *NAN* to iimasu ka [not just ka at the end]
"Do you know "what they say if the Acropolis where the Parthenon is?"

5:04 *If someone is having trouble understanding "yakunitatanakunatta" as much as I did, here's a teardown:*
TL;DR: "yakunitatsu" needs to be written as adjetive, in past tense and negative, and then "naru" in past tense.
1. The *adjetive* used is "yakunitatsu" which means "to be useful"
2. It is now converted into negative (nai form) and past tense as "yakunitatanaku" which means "useless" (the second "ta" is the past, the "na" is the negative from "nai" but the "i" is removed because of the "ku")
- Note that this is the adverbial form of "to be useful", not the verb, so the negative form is yakunitatanaku, not yakunitatanai. We need the adverbial form in order for naru (to become) to accept the negative, or in other words, using the adverbial form modifies the verb that will follow.
3. Then, "naru" (to become) in past tense (natta) is added to infer that the fax became useless, so "yakunitatanaku natta"
A space between those two words would have helped a lot in understanding as "yakunitatanakunatta" looks like a very threatening word to look at 😅
You can check the veracity of the past tense and negative tense of yakunitatsu (to be useful) in jisho . org / search / やくにたつ
I hope this helps someone. I know it's an OLD video but hey, I'm watching it so someone else might find this comment.
Do we say Eiga demo mimasen ka or Eiga demo O mimasen ka???

21 - 6, first example, why use mimasen, instead of mimasu
why これで not これが or これは?
That "yakunitatanakunatta" 😭
役に立つ (やくにたつ)
Present polite form = present plain form
やくにたちます = やくにたつ
Negative polite = negative plain
やくにたちません = やくにたたない
Past polite = past plain
やくにたちました = やくにたった
Past negative polite = Past negative plain
やくにたちませんでした = やくにたたなかった
okay I give up for now 😭 yakunitatanakunatta's conjugation はおしえておねがいします、せんせい。ありがとうございます。

I think fax machine have become useless.
Fakusuki ga yakunita tanakunatta to omoimasu.
You used these verbs sensei for this sentence and made it negative so to become useless:
yakunitachimasu = be useful
narimasu = to become
This kinda complicates the sentence sensei because the verb yakunitachimasu means "Be useful" and you added narimasu "become".
Why not use the adjective "muda = useless" sensei and transform it to the sentence pattern we learned from lesson 19.
In this way the verb will not be redundant and confusing.
Fakusuki ga muda ni narimasu. = The fax machines have become useless.
Fakusuki ga muda ni naru to omoimasu. = I think the fax machines have become useless.
kudos to those who can pronounce "have become useless" in japanese
I'm really liking these videos, so thank you very much. But please note that "wanna" isn't a word in English. It sounds like people are saying "wanna" but when writing, you should perhaps write "want to". I appreciate how much help you are giving me in Japanese, so I thought that you might appreciate a little (very little) suggestion in return.
