You may want to fish the night tides with needlefish and darters on the south side where you are! Live eels will also work around those south side rocks in the middle of the night!
@@sfraney66 thanks for your reply do you use the same gear as we do in England a 12 or 14 foot beach rod a penn surf blaster reel and black lug worms or squid
@@notmissingout9369 hi, for cod I would fish them from a boat using a a simple 36" 60lb fluorocarbon or monofilament leader with two dropper loops ( high and low) with a 6 or 8 gami circle hooks. Depending on current, probably need a 4-6oz weight tipping the hooks with clam meat . Jig off the bottom.
@@sfraney66 hi for sea fishing from a boat we use 7 foot rod between 30 and 50 class 30 pounds line many people fish with shads and I like fishing with mackerel feathers with bait on it great fun pulling two or more coding up or even a pollock or a ling. if your ever in the Uk head to Whitby in Yorkshire great boats and the chance of a 30 pounder on the right day
Really? Interesting observation. I grew up there. Caught MANY fish over 30lbs during the day. Nightime fishing in the surf is fun, but give me shitty, rainy weather mid-day on an incoming tide under the lighthouse in early October... I'll show you some big fish. :) To me, as long as you can get out and enjoy the beauty of Montauk in the fall, you're winning. Tight lines and be safe everyone.
Great video, keep up the good job

Great tip, thanks!
I liked the measuring tape on the bottom of the boca grip
Very well done video. Good advice on the korkers. Don’t even bother if you don’t have studs.
Nice work! Solid video
Thanks Ham! Always looking to better my videos each time by making them fun but educational at the same time!
Nice video! I live in northeast and travel up and down NJ surf fishing too! Hope to run into you sometime!
Thanks Wayne!
