Cult Pens had some massive Black Friday discounts on their website, so I treated myself to the entire Derwent Artist and Coloursoft wooden box collections. Can't wait for them to arrive.
Despite their reasons, and I do understand their reasons, I still wish there were more Derwent Drawing pencils. They are wonderful colours. The problem with Schmincke is the end of the name, say it like you're about to say candy, but leave off the andy. SHMING-C
to me the derwent drawing outshine all the rest for they are unlike any other I have ever used. most others usually you can find another pencils close enough to be a dupe like for instance the lightfast and the lyra rembranth are so close if you covered them and used them side by side you couldnt tell true story, but the drawing"s are in a class by themselves.
Hi Rana, yeah and they are done by Royal at Talens and really nice pencils and lightfast into the bargain ASTM, I done a review of them a while ago bit.ly/2LfNjOJ which you can check out. Now they are very difficult to find open stock but thank goodness for the Coloured Pencil Shop run by Emma, she sells them open stock which makes life so much easier.

I love the Derwent lightfast but the 36 set is not enough as a stand alone set because of the color selection . In polychromos you’d have a Great base with the 36 colors but the lightfast 36 set was very particular in color palette. Blick occasionally sells the lightfast for 2.40$ each open stock pencils but they don’t announce it and it’s only for half a day. The Derwent drawing are my favorite pencils ever. I want the lightfast or luminance but can only buy one fullest atm. I’d love about half of each but I’d pay more later and repeat colors if I don’t go for one full set….can’t decide Schminke ( German jargon for make up is pronounced shmyn kay , but you did good )
I think the derwent drawing pencils are something I'm going to put on my needs list...lol nice review ..the caran dashe board is a nice size for urban sketching backpack but if your on a really tight budget you might be able to find a cutting board that's rough and smooth on oppose side, I find this worked well as I had a older plastic cutting board that needed to be retired and was able to upcycle for my use...the caran dash is a bit smoother on the smoother side....

Hi Izabella I have tried to do Amazon AU links before but on the occasions I’ve done it, hardly any of the items I search for are on Amazon AU. When I first started these lists Amazon AU didn’t even sell or at least show art supplies. I know they are filling up more now. That’s why when I do a review of something I bought from AliExpress I add loads of links for loads of countries because they deliver everywhere. I’m definitely working on Amazon AU links as I know lots of my viewers are from your beautiful country.
Hey I want know what is best watercolour too use of craft and and draw I want to learn more about and need it for my floist skills and just fun too. I like the ink water dewent ones I have use some a little but want learn and work more watercolour and pencilling and drawing too help and what paper should be using too.

Ah, superb. The Artist pencils are a favourite of mine. Paper is important with them, but once on the right paper they are great.

Gerstaecker (Great Art in the UK) has some amazing Derwent sales going on. Managed to get Lightfast pencils for €2,10 -/each in sets. :)
