40 gallon tank is nice if you want to stay out a long time. I just keep my 30 gal half full for regular travel, and fill it if i want to boondock a long time
I loved the open cabinets idea. I loved the insta pot, to make a weeks' worth of Chicken Curry. The screen and the 40g tank for a month of water is brilliant. Adding an electric blanket might be a good idea since she only has electric heating. A+ SphereMotor, the future of electricity.
I love the openness of her rig...Thank you for the permission to take the rest of the overhead doors off the classic full sized class b van... I will ofcourse store them at homebase, so if I don't learn to love it, I can put them back on before I sale it. Thank you, Brian, for filming this update tour. ❤😊
This vid's a keeper! Joni has accomplished a well-thought-out arrangement, and it's nice to see her household techniques after 6 yrs full time. I'm building a weekender (of sorts) into a TINY 5' X 10' cargo trailer and things like "no cabinet doors" make perfect sense. Thanks for a terrific video. Both Joni and our host were a pleasure to hear with no incessant rambling or strange commentary. Just the facts! lmao. Great stuff. Thanks again. Safe travels to everyone!
I used to watch Joanie all the time, when I first became interested in van life. It was nice to see her again and I’m going to her RUclips channel right now!
A great setup for a smallish area, lots of enervative ideas in this camper👍. I really admire these women that are living on the road by themselves, great to see.
I like the open layout, the simplicity, and the fact that the van is a pretty color - not just the "white van". Since I am beginning to transition towards a van (have a cargo trailer right now) I will be following her for ideas. Thanks.
When you sneezed, I was reminded of my daughter saying "Dad. You sneeze like Grandpa." You are a really great interviewer Brian. I always look forward to seeing you on the channel. Peace to all.
The best thing I like about Jonis van is Joni!!! This is my 4h tour of your van Joni and I really like how little it has changed, great design! I appreciate you mentioning how you reduce your energy consumption with your induction plate, someone had pointed it out to me and it really helps. Do you prefer the two sided magnet door or the one opening in the center? Thanks Joni and Brian❤
Hi Vic! Thank you so much! Your comments are always so lovely. I've had both the center opening and the French door (dual) opening and I prefer the French door because of where my cabinet ends. Although I recently tried to replace mine with the same exact screen and the magnets weren't strong enough this time. I even switched brands and same thing. So I still have the one shown in this video from a year ago - only with added Gorilla tape!
I'm definitely okay - more than okay. I have been adventuring with friends all year and just haven't sat down to create. I do have some more tours filmed though, I just have to sit still long enough to edit them!
If i r’mber correctly we’ve met Joni before - so it was nice to meet her again few years down the road. Loved the mop bucket idea!!! Thank you Brian 🙏🏽
Thank you Joni for your video and the idea of using a leveler on your stove. I will use your idea for my stove. Also I think I've viewed a video you made prior to this one but I am really enjoying this one even more. I too do not like to attend social events. I I am a writer and an introvert and I love my solace ... but I force myself to connect socially on occasion-- and on my own level ---and and on my own terms---and in my own way! And its all Ok.
100% homemade potty I have one in my stick and brick home too! better than flush type. wow did I miss it? no pet? Brave woman! poor thing having to explain that! lol After the heartbreak of losing my menopause "kids" I couldn't face long illness and loss again. My friends pets are like grandkids, have fun & send them home! The van is practical and homey! ❤ the drawer handles with latches! very nice I sometime bang hips and catch my clothes on handles that stick out.
True story …. I was just thinking the other day “ I wonder if Joni’s still doing van life”. I don’t get online as much anymore but you crossed my mind ..
I like that the van has an open ,roomy feel but it is not bare, sterile looking. The shelf with bins is a good idea to keep things neat and easy to get to . The water tank being so big does give options ,you wouldn’t have to fill it up all the way if you didn’t want to.
The simplicity of it the drawers from the boat so they don’t come slide out the open space up top so that you don’t have cabinets personally I would’ve went with a different color because that’s just me but I love the way you have it set up. It’s awesome.❤
I like her van, and she's very nice also. I'm just over 60 and envious as well as drawn to people in this lifestyle...especially those in my age group.
I've been 10 months full time van life now. I'm suburban stealth. Have tried lots of things to find the "community" she praises, but I have mainly been able to find that on a Facebook group, not in real life.
Hahahaha, cool, I have the same InstantPot & Induction Burner. I love them and if I ever lived in a van - maybe coming soon - I would try to be all electric. Great video, nice design.
Lots of good ideas here I've seen nowhere else. She might like to try 'World's Best' kitty litter; I have it here for my cats; a large bag lasts forever, it's corn cob based so compostable and controls smells VERY well. Amazon sells it or probably any pet supply store. Good info about the water storage and all-electric cooking. I wouldn't want to deal with propane if I didn't have to.
Good video . Well thought out and functional build. The leveling tip,👍👍😊 I use that same induction cooktop and bought it For just that reason, I only have a 1000 watt Inverter, and that cooktop is adjustable down.
Check out a composting toilet. Our Nature's Head is awesome. Two of us can go a month without changing the #2 medium. The #1 bucket gets drained daily. It's so handy.
TIOLET HOMEMADE: I like the lid idea which doubles as footstool, helps to align your bodies system, makes for easy reading. Hehe The lid and bucket has been around for hundreds of years, it literally was the first water closet, tilk thwy got more inavative. In 70s, I had relatives which lived on farms that was the system, they would dump it every night in a hole out back, that was for indoor most still had outhouses. OPEN CABINETS: Good idea as well, it doubles for ventaltion. MICE: Use vinager to help get rid of the smell, buy those corner tin metal traps, try to find any holes in yoir van under side plug them if they are not need for something. Enjoyed the tour thank you for sharing your life and living space.
My wife and I are interested in retiring to RV life. We’ve been leaning toward travel trailers but I would like to be able to reach some fairly remote dispersed sites so I’ve also been looking at class c or even truck bed with slide outs. My main concern is where do we sleep if our vehicle is our home and we need engine work, etc.
I like the so many things. It is full of storage but its so open and airy ., her homemade toilet set up, the step up, the lounge area...wonderful! ❤ Almost perfect. The only thing I would change is the all wood stained interior... I know a lot of people love that everything wood look, And for that kind of look She did a great job with the different wood tones.....But to me all that ceiling to floor wood is too much like being in a crate or coffin... Need me some light color on the ceiling and it would be perfect. L o l
The wood thing is definitely personal preference. None of my wood is stained, it's naturally that color and, in person have a wonderful depth to the colors.
I have a Doheny eBike and love it. It's the smoothest, most fun bike I've ever had! And it comes in lots of fun colors! I had a Lectric eBike, but didn't like the ride at all.
With 40 gal. Tank U can use that 18 gal. Washer. Then U need the space to store it. Alexapure water filters look like the Berkey but is more reasonably priced.
I like your built in toilet - i just made one like that for myself, too. I got an aftermarket swivel for the drivers seat, so I can put my feet up on the bench covering the toilet
@@TheGalavan So glad to see and hear from you again, I had been a subscriber, but only on your YT channel which seemed to go dormant for a while without current postings.
In seven years, I've only had three repairs that required an overnight stay. One, I was able to stay in my van, one at a friend's house, and one at a hotel.
I totally ripped off her layout. Why reinvent the wheel. Complete with the folding e-bike under the bed. I’m in my van for five years now. Beautiful rig and beautiful human. Thanks for sharing, Joni!
Awesome! I love to hear that! Seven years now and I the only mod I've had to do (other than replace the fridge) is to lift the bed and take out the tray under the bed in the garage to fit a different bike in!
40 gallon tank is nice if you want to stay out a long time. I just keep my 30 gal half full for regular travel, and fill it if i want to boondock a long time
The oval mop bucket is a keen innovation.
Wow this is really nice
I have been in this van, and it is fantastic! (So is Joni!)
A well thought design! Thank you for sharing, Joni!
Cozy but airy and roomy for sure what a delightful life
What a very nice set up! I'm soon to be 68 and can't wait to get started for part time travel. She has some stellar ideas. Thanks for sharing!
That van build is amazing! What a lovely home! Thank you, Joanie.

I like the open feel of Joni’s build.
Funny - was just wondering how Galavan was doing! Glad to see this tour and listen to Joni's choices.
Thanks for the comment! I'm doing great, I've just been too busy exploring to make videos!
40 gallons of water - YES, love her van!
She could easily handle a wash machine with that much water!
Joni, thank you for the attention to detail and refined organization. Great presentation.
She is a wise woman with a fantastic set up.
Interesting interview and video, thanks
Hi Joni!! One of the first and nicest nomads I ever met back when I started back in 2017
Aw, (blush). Thanks Lisa! Mutual admiration society!
Not a "Gal", but I have followed Joni's tours for a couple of years.

Love the build and her attitude about nomad life.
Loved the "living room" which includes the screened open door.
I used to watch Joanie all the time, when I first became interested in van life. It was nice to see her again and I’m going to her RUclips channel right now!
Really enjoy all of Brian's interviews! Keep on!
I love your layout!
Very nice build! And lots of good ideas!😊👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great presentation and information and lovely rig.
It's so great to see Joni again!
A great setup for a smallish area, lots of enervative ideas in this camper👍. I really admire these women that are living on the road by themselves, great to see.
What does enervative mean?
Beautiful van and great insights, thank you!
Hi Joni! Glad to see you're still on the road. I've fallen behind on your YT channel so I'll have to stop back by.
Hi! I haven't posted a new video in quite a while, so it will be very easy to "catch up"! 😄
Excellent build, thank you for sharing

Real nice interview on both sides of the conversation.
Wow, excellent information, so much to know.thank you
What do I love about her build? Her toileting system! I will definitely be using her ideas! TY! 😊

I recognize you from the video with the Bigfoot lurking outside your window 😂
Nice video! I met Joni in 2019 at the RTR. Very nice person!
I like that the van has an open ,roomy feel but it is not bare, sterile looking. The shelf with bins is a good idea to keep things neat and easy to get to . The water tank being so big does give options ,you wouldn’t have to fill it up all the way if you didn’t want to.

Very useful practical tips. Thank You!
Excellent video. We have a Trelino separating toilet and it is great.

this gal is creative. thanks for the insights
Nice van. All the best to you!
I like her van, and she's very nice also. I'm just over 60 and envious as well as drawn to people in this lifestyle...especially those in my age group.
Great interview. Thanks
Thank you for sharing this! ❤
Wonderful set up I have a Birkey and love it. I do wish I would have gotten the smaller one, the travel one. We have a mini bus we are working on now.
I liked Joni’s design of no floor to ceiling stuff that would block the open and spacious feel.
The bed is the best part of her van for me.
Experience!👍
Thanks!😊
I've been 10 months full time van life now. I'm suburban stealth. Have tried lots of things to find the "community" she praises, but I have mainly been able to find that on a Facebook group, not in real life.
The community will be out boondocking, most likely. Unless you are in an area with a large vanlife community.
Hahahaha, cool, I have the same InstantPot & Induction Burner. I love them and if I ever lived in a van - maybe coming soon - I would try to be all electric. Great video, nice design.
Enjoyed the tour Thanks!

Lots of us use a little litter in the bag inside the bucket. 0 smell and just knot the bag and dispose of it(;
I liked her mop bucket toilet!😂🎉
Hello from Puerto Rico friends
Nice rig!
So nice!
Good video .
Well thought out and functional build.
The leveling tip,👍👍😊
I use that same induction cooktop and bought it For just that reason, I only have a 1000 watt Inverter, and that cooktop is adjustable down.
Nice build 😊
Check out a composting toilet. Our Nature's Head is awesome. Two of us can go a month without changing the #2 medium. The #1 bucket gets drained daily. It's so handy.
Have one in my off grid cabin where I live full time. Use a Ogo Nomad in my tear drop trailer.
The house is a bit small but it is fully furnished and especially very compact
TIOLET HOMEMADE: I like the lid idea which doubles as footstool, helps to align your bodies system, makes for easy reading. Hehe

Save up for motel
No floor to ceiling, check. Your van felt so open and now i know why.
I like the bench seating when you first come in.
Nice job on living your life.
i've been a fan of galavan for years - she's cool

Paper stone? MDF - medium density fiberboard. The density of the fiber and resin is what gives it strength.
It's much more dense than MDF and it's food-safe, but similar.
With 40 gal. Tank U can use that 18 gal. Washer. Then U need the space to store it. Alexapure water filters look like the Berkey but is more reasonably priced.

Th color!
Joanie is still on the road - F/T? Wow!
Sure am! Coming up on 7 years next month and loving it!
@@TheGalavan So glad to see and hear from you again, I had been a subscriber, but only on your YT channel which seemed to go dormant for a while without current postings.
great potty!
❤
What would be the price on this great van? Very impressive.
I use feline pine for my cats and there's little odor
I always wonder what happens if you break down? Where do you stay while vehicle is in the shop?
In seven years, I've only had three repairs that required an overnight stay. One, I was able to stay in my van, one at a friend's house, and one at a hotel.
🚽 Why don’t people use the neutralizing drops that patients use in their colostomy bags? It totally 💯 eliminates the odor.
They probably should if it doesn’t hurt them
How are the pet pads used with the toilet?
I totally ripped off her layout. Why reinvent the wheel. Complete with the folding e-bike under the bed. I’m in my van for five years now. Beautiful rig and beautiful human. Thanks for sharing, Joni!

H!, New to all of this, what is paperstone?
Mercedes The Best 👍🖖🇬🇧
A 40 gallon tank is 400 pounds. That's so much weight. 5:07
Is freightliner a class b van?
