I never have patience through van tours longer than 7min but this one is different. There's something enamoring about this woman and the way she talks. Paul's skill is incredible. Best use of every inch. I love this.
Hands down…the most intelligent design and use of space…EVER….and beautiful, as well; the van, and the owner. Truly an original, which is refreshing after seeing so many “look alikes” in van life. There are a lot of moving parts, but they work in such an easy and effortless flow. I think its cool too, that they thought of their grand kids, and actually can have several extra passengers in the dining area, and it adds no extra square footage to the design…i could go on and on, on this one. Love it!!!
This video shows why you should take your time with your design. Time and thought pays off. Beautiful. These people are artist that's how artist think. Thank you for sharing.
Seriously impressed! The level of thought and practicality, to the power system, to the water, heating, and insulation is just so awesome! Also love how you let everyone talk without interrupting 😊
It seems like you ignore all the effort and life choices that led to this opportunity. These are smart people who worked hard at jobs that require a lot of skill and knowledge, and saved a ton of money by vacationing in their car. My in-laws did that and also saved money in other ways so that they could put four kids through college and retire. They didn't start out rich, though being white gave them more opportunities at the time. This couple started out camping and worked their way up to building a conversion that can last the rest of their lives. Now that they're retired they can enjoy life as many do. Also, that's no Connecticut accent, and she seems like a nice person. P.S. With such a passion for exploration, they probably didn't do what many middle class families do and buy a vacation home or condo, and having the ability to do all this themselves probably cost half as much, too.
Oh my gosh, I loved every single micro inch of this van! And you were so part of this van, all the research and the love that was put into this van is unbelievable. If you ever consider selling this van please put me on your list. It was one of the most delightful videos on van life I’ve seen in a long time, thank you.
Such an innovative build. So many smart and creative ideas. Grannie is delightful! She needs to create a YT Chan of her and Paul’s adventures! She’s a natural.
My sincere salute to Sandy and Paul. I actually took a lot of feature notes, clicked thumbs-up and I saved. I've been back-n-forth about the bed being full-time and also acting as a lounge, or the ability of putting it up. But seeing this, it reminds me the greater sense of freedom and exploration if I don't make a cave. Instead, a full window van, bed-up, but I'm actually going to commit to making a highly vented 'Wet Room' at the back with features to address laundry, shower, potty and washing parts - it's gonna be an aquarium LoL. And also Patrick, your summary at the end with all the additional solar and electrics details. You already gave her 30min, but this builder seemed very thoughtful and if you were impressed, I wouldn't mind another block of time for that presentation.
What a well thought out van. I’d love to see details on the bed lift system. I’ve never seen that many drawers in a van. They truly did make use of ever inch. And the hidden cord and water inlets are Genius! Thanks for sharing this build!
I love their camper van. Sandy did a great job explaining all of the creative components that have made the interior both beautiful and functional. And I absolutely love all of the wood. It exudes the richness and warmth of a natural material. And the elevator bed is genius! Their van lacks nothing. ❤
You guys thought of everything! The most important aspect of class B design is discretion, since so many localities around the country are cracking down on where van dwellers can park. Having a stealth van that looks like a passenger or contractor van is essential, in my opinion.
This is an absolutely amazing build. An incredible level of detail, with articulate and specific reasons for each design decision. This is a remarkable and inspiring build. I am now rethinking how I want to build my family's RV because of this. Thanks for this video Patrick, keep up the fantastic work!
WOWWWWW!!! This "grandma" and her husband's van is truly a diamond in the rough! It has so many fun, unique features. At their ages-it's amazing how many things are still on the floor level, to get to-but she is agile & able! So impressive! What a super fun video!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I watch your channel often. I do get frustrated sometimes, because its hard to get an impression of the various home/van owners personality, methodology, and vision, with so much heavy commentary on your part. However, THIS PRESENTATION WAS WONDERFUL! Thank you for this! It was wonderful listening to her complete vision, along with her personality. For your part, your introduction and conclusion were wonderful. May God continue to bless you and this amazing lady and your families.
This interview was delightful, and the van design was just as delightful. Thank you, Patrick, for the video, and thank you, Sandy, for sharing your home with us.
She proves that we can live long and not get old! She loves life and life has been good to her. Thank you. Patrick for finding her and sharing her with all of us!
Sandy's van is amazing, Patrick! It blows me away the creativity some people have and implement into their RV's, along with their determination to get out onto the road (a dream of mine). How DO you find these people, Patrick?!
72 year old female here and I love the van she and Paul put their soul into. Don't own a vehicle at this point, but if they ever decided to sell, that is going to be one lucky new owner!
What a sweet, sweet angel!! I loved hearing Sandy explain all the fine details they considered in their build. Thank you all for your time in making this. :)
Sandy did a great job of showing her van. She and her partner Paul have done an amazing job of creating exactly what they need. Some of the big Class B manufacturers, Winnebago, etc., could learn a few things.
This is a great video. I could listen to Sandy talk for hours. Her happiness and joy for life really shines. The van build is beautiful. And has so many useful add ins that Paul designed. I wish you many happy traveling adventures Sandy and Paul! Thanks for sharing.
What an extraordinary woman; brilliant, creative and engaging. Paul is an engineering genius and the admiration and respect in Sandy's description of his handiwork is refreshing. The van they carefully built with love is perfection on wheels. I find this video inspiring on so many levels!
This is absolutely amazing. I smiled the whole way through. What a lovely lady. The woodwork, attention to detail and originality is fantastic. Thanks Patrick for showing another beautiful van.
An absolutely fantastic, well thought out van. First time I have seen one that had nothing I would change 😊. Huge respect to you two for your building and concept on the van.
Je ne pensais pas avoir la patience de regarder une vidéo d'une demie heure. Mais cette dame est tellement posée ... je suis restée jusqu'à la fin. Etcses conseils sont précieux. Merci 🙏
I like her build philosophy. Patrick you have shown many different styles of van builds. It's hard to decide which one I like the most. I like having everything under the windows. The use of wood and workmanship is excellent. The shower and toilet are in a good location. My preference would be a longer van.
I love your van! You and Paul put your heart into this build! I recently retired at 72 and have been thinking this would be a great way to visit family and friends. Thanks for sharing your ideas!😊
What a Lady. I love this CamperVan. Long story short.,I did 4years 5months on a GMC Jimmy 2000 and showering at Truck stops and Gyms. With this CamperVan I do another 4years.with Style. Im so motivated.
sandy is precious. what a great build- the fridge and freezer are awesome!the built in cutting board next to the stove is also so great! i love this bed setup too along with the place to eat. wow - all of it is really great. I would love to see window tint for all the windows for sandy safety. that way she can see our while the others can’t see in no matter if it’s day or night.

Grandchildren sure do change our lifestyles. We actually bought our first camper to stay in while visiting one of our children and grandchild in Tennessee. All the rest of our children and grandchildren live in Maryland our home state. I grew up van camping. Although we love our fifth wheel and will continue to travel in it for extended stays, I'm currently in the market for a tank aka a good old fashioned conversion van. Those babies are comfortable and dependable. Perfect for quick trips back and forth between Tenn and Maryland. Perfect for sleeping overnight at a harvest host. Your van is lovely with so many brilliant amenities. Thank you for sharing it with us.
What a wonderful lady and an incredibly built van. You can see how they buit it for use.😊 Love the hand pump. I remember those types of hand soaps. Wow just beautiful 😮 Surprise after surprise. Ship gages? Details make this just a wonderful camper van.😊 Thanks so much for sharing this one with us. 🎬🎥👍😁
Many thanks! I’m really happy to feature her build I believe many younger builders can learn a lot from their approach and their ideas. I hope other viewers, fine value, and what we put together here.
Sandy and Paul are amazing. This is one of the best vans and tours I've seen. I'm saving this and taking notes. Excellent build with every inch of detail thought of.
What a delightful and articulate lady! This is such a beautiful home! The workmanship and layout are perfect. I love having a real bed that you can leave "made" all the time. Thanks for sharing!❤🙏 Jane Congrats on the grands. They are such a blessing. Enjoy every minute!❤
You know she's experienced when she shares that you can start camper life with simple furnishing/modification and get into more complex builds over the years, so don't feel bad 😊. Like encouragement from a teacher.
I don't believe it, I watched the whole video. You captured my imagination of what my campervan could be. Very informative and interesting sharing. My motivation is sharing my campervan with my grandchildren before they are all grown up. Thank you.❤
Sandy has a spirit that I admire and she kept me going through this video with joy! I love the antique/vintage features and the ingenuity that when into the design. Paul also is clearly very talented. My husband and I travel in a 20' trailer but truly, they have everything we have in this convenient van.
I never have patience through van tours longer than 7min but this one is different. There's something enamoring about this woman and the way she talks. Paul's skill is incredible. Best use of every inch. I love this.
I was thinking the same thing. She is very articulate yet enduring.
I think it's because she loves it and she is proud to show it.
So true. An awesome build, recounted with passion! Thanks for sharing!
Do you have ADD? Why can't you stand a tour longer than 7 minutes, otherwise? 🤔
nah. most of them are just verbose.@@freedomdove
I love how she is constantly loving and crediting Paul while explaining everything so well. ❤️
Yes 🙌
I think Paul might be taking advantage of "Grandma"
Sounds like Ted Bundy in disguise!? 😢😮
Paul is amazing!
My God. These people are genius. Everything is so well thought-out. Motorhome companies should hire them and learn from them. Kudos!
Completely agree!
that is my thought as well!
I bet her partner Paul was/is a boater because of his/their engineering and construction.
This lady is truly one of a kind. So nice to listen to and knows what she is talking about . What a van! Has everything you could want. Thanks Patrick
Wow, thank you!
What a very nice couple. I’m so happy for them.
Her family should get a van of their own.
Wonderful ideas
Are you kidding me! This van is BOTH highly beautiful and functional. It's truly fab. Paul is amazing.

She couldn't be more adorable! Glad she is still adventuring, and has a partner to share the adventures with!

You haven’t seen many builds then.
I’m still a fan of Ms Devines van. It’s put together well and it all works and it’s pretty.
What an ingenious pair, this lovely lady and her Paul are. I hope whoever bought their van loves it as much as she clearly does!
Whoever bought it definitely got a engineering masterpiece
I love this woman and the way she thinks! And Paul is quite the thoughtful craftsman. What a wonderful van!
Appreciate the support
Ah!! It's a New Jersey thing to call batteries in Kilowatt hours in lieu of amp hours. 😉😉😉

When you're a RichBtch from CT, with a limitless budget, you can get anything you want.
