    I worked for an outfit that designed and built a new style of tire for tractor pulls back in the day. On the first trial run the guy tore up is drive shaft. Company rep apologized, but the tractor owner was pleased, he could build a stronger driveshaft, but never was able to put that much torque to the ground before.

    • @dylanpeterson6192
      @dylanpeterson6192 2 года назад +1

      Exactly. There's a science to pulling on dirt, wheel speed being just one of them. This is kind of like clamping your tires in a vise and cranking until stuff breaks.
      The weird dead weight pullers must've bounced around too long and came up with this. I've never seen it before.
      And now that I've watched more, it looks like they start on dirt and transition to asphalt. Holy shit, I agree with the driveline shop sponsorship comments.

    • @DirtyMoneyPullingVideos
      @DirtyMoneyPullingVideos  Год назад +1

      This type of pulling has actually been around just as long as dirt pulling. They start on asphalt, so there is no dirt involved at all. There is also a science to blacktop pulling as well. There is a very fine line of traction that you want to ride. Just a slight bit of wheel slip so you don't break anything.

      @leftyeh6495 2 года назад +2

      no transfer case, and an RV cam? How do you keep the ladies off you?
      For real though, there's no such thing as a "big RV cam". Big cams (big lobes/big lift and long duration) don't do well at making torque. On the other hand, little baby cams run out of horsepower, as they can't push the valves open long enough to move enough air and fuel into the chamber.
      Quit calling it an RV cam, as it just sounds ignorant.
