The bit with the tie was one of the best parts of this show. She didn't want him to run due to his MS, but she knew he had to in the end. So she put him over the top with confidence. She was always there for him, no matter what.
This show hits harder, and deeper with every year that passes. “Smart people who love you, are gonna have your back.” What a moment.
"Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee." 🎶
I still can’t get over just how good an actor Martin Sheen is. The look he gives Abby from the doorway is epic. It’s “the floor just opened under me & I might die and also I will bring down the hand of god to bring her home “ and he doesn’t say a word.
I love all her scenes. She is so Quotable
Everyone should have an Abby bartlet in their life.
They way she says "you have lots of nights" - Always tears me up and is so emotional
I really loved Stockard Channing as the First Lady. She did a fantastic job. And she looks amazing.
Still shocks me that apparently she wasnt even supposed to be in but a few episodes. Like 2 of em then gone. What a performance she gave to change the role entirely
Agreed. Stockyard Channing was fabulous. It was the same with Martin Sheen. He was only supposed to be in certain scenes in 2 or 3 episodes a season. But he did so well, they made changes.
The original show was supposed to be focused on the Sam Seaborn character played by Rob Lowe. Don’t get me wrong, I liked that character, but I think the show would have been far less than what it became because of actors and actresses like these.
11:40-11:59 is the best bit of non-verbal acting in the entire show!
I was always happy when Abby appeared. She's never been in a scene she didn't steal. (Except maybe in the ones with Lord John Marbury)
I ate some cheese
biscuits
No
"Abigail! Your breasts are magnificent!" Lord John Marbury was hilarious in that scene.
Gosh I loved this show. Now, especially, it should be available on a public channel.
Funny banter near the end about the inauguration being in coldass January but it used to be in March until FDR.
John Goodman was brilliant.
Mrs. Bartlett was just as smart and strong as her husband. And like Mrs. Santos the strong woman behind the man.
Dr. Bartlett
28:00 this hits so different knowing his ultimate fate outside of the show.
3 Emmys after 14 nominations. Nothing to sneeze at.
The founders choose March date was changed with Amendment 20
Jimmy Smits for President!
Game on boyfriend!
2.55. MIDDLEBURG!!!
💕💕
Why is this called National Archives: Part 1 ?
i completely forgot about this fantastic movie
The irony that the current first lady is also desperately trying to cover her husbands severe disability. This show predicts the future
