Thank you for including Matthew Perry in these clips. He was so well matched with this material. Could've so easily jumped into this ensemble and almost wish he would have instead of going the Studio 60 route. He definitely had more to do. RIP.
And Ron's simple eye glance from CJ to Bartlet was incredible directing/screenwriting/acting. A simple glance said so much, and it changed the tone immediately.
The West Wing was a GIFT to the American electorate from the 'entertainment industry'. It is to our proletarian credit that we paid attention for eight seasons.
I'm rewatching the election campaign episodes with Obama vs. McCain - I mean, Santos vs. Vinick. I'd take President Vinick on his worst day over Trump.
I feel like a person isn’t a true fan of The West Wing if you don’t do exactly this. Rewatching the show over-and-over-again from the 2016 campaign season to Jan. 20, 2021 got my girlfriend (now wife) through those dark days of “Dump”.
16:57, when the head of the Secret Service detail sits at CJ's desk, his right hand goes to his left side near his armpit. He's meant to be preventing, I believe, the holster holding his service weapon from shifting as he sits. Nice touch.
I love the Hayes, Seaborn, & Tribbey scenes. The two hotshots obviously think more of themselves than they should, & caused all sorts of havoc for the White House, & for what, to get their name in the press or to get others fired? Seaborn is trying to come to terms with the fact that he just met his match, professionally, in Hayes. Ansley knows she can hold her own but she's the unwanted outsider so she is threading lightly. The fact that she didn't disclose, to Seaborn, that Tribbey sent her to The Hill to take care of the debacle that the two hotshots caused is a testament to her professionalism. She took the responsibility for going to The Hill as her "showing initiative". Obviously Seaborn didn't know Tribbey sent her because he wouldn't have asked her why she went to The Hill, in the first place. She also knew the two hotshots sent her the dead bouquet but refused to name them. Regardless of how Seaborn & Tribbey personally feel about Hayes, they are professionals with integrity & honor. The two of them showing the hotshots the door & slamming it shut behind them was phenomenal.
Nice clip job but they are out of order. Scene with Secret Service coming into CJ's apartment as season 6. Scenes with Ainsley and Same were early, season 2. etc.
I very much LQQK forward to these longer than usual "Visual Meals". As soon as they are done satisfying my West Wing Appetite, I'm already wondering the same thought...'HOW can the shakers and movers who craft these Fine videos keep putting together such tantalizing dishes of video delights? And I remember The West Wing Menu of Delicious Episodes loaded with such succulent dialog and believable characters. It is simply the Family Album I share with ALL who watch and are STILL watching this show. But I also take away the fact that we Fans do not take anything from this show for keeps, but rather to share what we see and hear in ways that helps us and others. Thank You Shakers And Movers! ❤ 👋
The notion / principle of self interest was drilled into us (rightly and or wrongly) in first year uni international relations. I couldn't fucking believe it. Amazing moment. To challenge the principle is wild.
9:24 in an alternate universe this is suddenly untrue and the main character becomes a grim reaper after she gets hit by a toilet seat from space (Dead Like Me, Dark Comedy from the early 2000s and very funny)
Great idea but bad execution with a lot of better scenes omitted. Not only in this one but also in the other compilation videos. The scenes of stories should be completed as the best is always the ending. For instance; after Ron shouts “GW” to take the president to the hospital, there is a great scene showing the hospital emergency room as they get prepared for ‘Code Blue”. Most scenes missed those endings,
"Something's headed east in the sky over the Pacific. It's in and out of our RADAR, and we can't see it." I mean, leave the aliens part out of it, that's actually a worrisome statement.
The “everybody starts talking over the President because they’re ever so excited and motivated” is such cringingly awful writing. As if those people would ever in a million years do that.
Wow, I thought I was the only one who thought like this ! Thank you. Excellent comment. This show is full of scenes like that. I think it's like Political Rambo. The language detracts from the stories. There's no outright corruption, few real losses, everyone is too good, too cute, too quick. Rambo's action is now witty repartee. But there's never any question of serious danger or loss to any of the main characters. It can quite grating at its worst.
@@jimreily7538That’s the point you idiots. It’s idealistic. It’s what politics SHOULD be, not what it is. Also “no real loss”? Are you kidding me? Mrs Landingham? CJ’s dad with dementia? Josh’s dad dying during the campaign? Leo’s heart attack? Roslyn? Donna being attacked by terrorists? Zoey’s kidnapping? Josh’s breakdown after losing Chris Carrick and being demoted? CJ’s stalker and bodyguard? Jed invoking 25? The government shutdown? Sam losing his race? Hoynes resigning? The cartel baiting the US and shooting the helicopter down over Putumayo? The tender ship that sank in the storm? Jed’s MS? Charlie’s mother? Mrs Landingham’s sons? Josh’s childhood house fire? Jed’s parental abuse and trauma? The death row inmate who killed himself after not being pardoned? Donna leaving Josh to work for Russell? Mollie the Secret service agent? Did you people even watch the fucking show?
@@ChrisCoulson101 I view lobbying as legal bribery. And that is exceedingly common. Look at where our representatives, from state houses to gubernatorial ones, get their campaign funds from. Look how many politicians he worked with. Large lobby groups are shameless. The extent of the greed is disturbing. Studio 60 was AMAZING! Much too short-lived. That cast!
@@ElsieCanDoAMAZING CAST but I am struggling to finish it. The stories are just kind of all over the place.
Studio 60 came out at a weird time and place. Show was fantastic. Should have been a huge hit! MP was great on West Wing.
His West Wing character is a liar.
Agreed. He was so good in this show!

She was being so frustratingly stupid that episode
Just spent the last hour laying in bed on a Sunday morning enjoying the brillance that is the West Wing.
In my humble opinion, the best show ever, by far.
The West Wing was a GIFT to the American electorate from the 'entertainment industry'. It is to our proletarian credit that we paid attention for eight seasons.
I loved CJ and Danny’s back and forth…..even just Danny in general. Such a great and funny guy. 😊
Admiral Sissy-Mary was perfectly cast. Loved Fitz. I was broken-hearted in that explosion.
This may be fictional, but the spirit is true. Where is a President Bartlett when the World is crying out for leadership? Who holds these values?
I absolutely loved Ainsley Haynes
Amy Gardner was hotter
As the US Election comes ‘round again, I begin my rewatching of all of TWW series. Fiction preferably to reality.
West Wing carried me through 45ths term.
I'm rewatching the election campaign episodes with Obama vs. McCain - I mean, Santos vs. Vinick.
I'd take President Vinick on his worst day over Trump.
Pretty sad when the fictional vegetable in a hospital bed is preferable to the real life "Justices" we have.
@@redlightmax Vinick was an honest to God republican. "I'll be a winner or a loser. I'll not be a sore loser." How prophetic was the line.

Richard Schiff and Matthew Perry quiet in the hospital elevator -- such heavyweights

Proof what a great actor Matthew Perry was. RIP sweetheart.

WHAT WAS THE ANSWER TO THE CARPET THING?!?!?
It irks me is that President Bartlet never lets CJ say good bye to the Press Core in her own way.
It's press corps, not press core.

Everything / nothing .

These are clips, not in order of seasons. MAX is the only streaming service, but they do not run episodes in sequential seasons🙄 Very aggravating
