Very good interview and it was interesting to hear about the human resource challenges of hiring, training, and keeping employees in Viet Nam. That is an amazing number of staff that are dedicated to human resources but it makes sense given the need to meet the challenges.
Yeah true, didn't know it was that time consuming that you keep having to plan your next recruitment as your staff WILL leave your company as the job offers are so huge in those manufacturing hubs. It's a good lesson to keep in mind if you want to jump into owning your own factory in Vietnam.

Oh hi Karl
Yes Karl :)
This was very interesting.
I wonder what you think about interior design in Vietnam vs in France - availability of retail furniture, labor etc.
I am a little particular about my space, that’s why I asked.

Problem is the amount of bribes and visa complexities have gotten too much in Vietnam. I don't mind paying bribes but you don't get much in return. After paying off one person there just comes another person. So planning is just too risky. Not worth the labor savings. I assume it would work if you can bribe someone with real power, but finding that person seems to be difficult.
It totally depends which industry you are working for. In my case, dealing with local trustworthy lawyers, accountants, etc ... and already knowing a bit by experience, I don't feel having a lot of "bribes". But of course if you do some business with big corporations or government, then it may be a bit more challenging :)
What about IKEA in Vietnam? It's neighbhor China producing cheap quality furniture may dump their products in Vietnam. How can he survive there. It is better to show us the factories and the products made by him rather than mere talking.
Hi Ravikumar, we already planned to have a factory tour in some of the wood and furniture factories he is working with. Stay tuned!
