    Dalat is a mountain city in Vietnam located a few hundred kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City. It is a destination to consider if you are a nature and mountain lover looking for peace and quiet while being in a city that offers an excellent quality of life.
    I have been on holiday in Dalat for a few days and I would like to take this time to show you what you can expect and do if you move there. Visiting temples, walking in the forest, going to the night market and some videos of life which is currently hectic for the end of the year celebrations.
    If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, close to nature city with forests, lakes and parks, then Dalat may be the ideal city to expatriate to. The cost of living is 20% cheaper than in Ho Chi Minh City and it will be easy for you to find small and nice flats or houses to rent. I'm just walking around and showing you the house we rented for a few days in order to spend Christmas in Vietnam and I also explain why we decided to stay in Vietnam instead of going back to Europe during this period.
    ⏩ Here are the elements we talk about in the video :

    One other thing to think about Guillaume: I think that Vientiane, Laos will the next expat city because of the high speed rail that will link SE Asia to China. Because of its upcoming position as a transport hub, it has to the potential to overtake Chiang Mai as a digital nomad city.
    I love Vietnam, but I’m also thinking of a place in SEA where I can open a business with potential.

    • @MoveToAsia
      @MoveToAsia  3 года назад

      Hello Richie, Laos to do business ? I heard it's not as business friendly as Vietnam for the ownership and ease of incorporating as in Vietnam. But definitely a place that could become a nature hub for expat (Vang Vieng is already a bit right ? :))

    • @richiesd1

      @@MoveToAsia , from what I understand, there are many Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Laos and Cambodia who believe the opportunities are better than Vietnam. Of course, from an aggregate standpoint Vietnam is a larger, faster developing economy. But an individual can find opportunities in niche markets.
      I think when the high speed rail comes to Laos, the digital nomads will come for the ease of transport. And of course, internet service will be very good because there will be fiber optics along the new rail lines. Maybe for a small business such as a café, restaurant, or small hotel, Laos would be good in the future. Just an idea I’m putting out there. Did you hear of the famous French restaurant in Vientiane that people from all around the region come to enjoy?

    Hi Guillaume,
    Does Dalat atracks international tourists? Wondering if it's better than Hoi An. I am interested to open restaurant. I am between Hoi An - Dalat - Hue. Which one atracks more tourism? 😉

    • @MoveToAsia
      @MoveToAsia  3 года назад +1

      Hoi An attracts more foreign tourists I guess as the international airport in Danang got direct flights. But in Dalat you have all the expats and locals from Saigon travelling there very often. So you can make your own research on the restaurant type to see which city has the most potential.

    How much is the monthly rent for an equipped apartment?
    Is it good city for work and save some cash as ESL's?
    Thanks and keep it up

    • @MoveToAsia
      @MoveToAsia  2 года назад

      Hi Abdessamade, the cost of living in Dalat city is cheaper than a big city like Hanoi or Saigon. The salary as an ESL teacher will be less important tho, but you can have a great life and manage to save a lot if you are teaching English in the countryside. You can check this video talking about that : ruclips.net/video/6VSBWiK-0wQ/видео.html

    I live in Germany and i am thinking of moving to Vietnam in few years.
    I am thinking of starting a small business there.
    My wife is Thai and we can always go to Thailand but that is not a great option for a business.
    Thais are not hard workers, specially the men.
    They drink a lot and sometimes don't even show up for work at all.
    I have heard that Vietnamese are hard workers.

    • @MoveToAsia
      @MoveToAsia  3 года назад +1

      Hello Petar, I won't say all Vietnamese are hard workers, all around the country the "Mot, Hai, Ba, YO (1, 2, 3, Cheers)" is well present. In most Asian countries: you have to mix with the local habits and way of seeing life. That's what is also attractive in moving abroad but obviously you always need to do concession. If you want to move to Vietnam by opening your company, just know that you get into Vietnam nowadays.
