Hori is actually both a sadist and a masochist. The masochist side is exclusively for Miyamura.
@@SergioBonilla1 I don't know about the sadist part but Hori isn't a masochist bur rather has developed a degradation kink towards Miyamura, these things are similar but not quite the same. As for why it is the case, they briefly explained it in the show as it just being a "gap-moe", but from what I can see and believe, it is simply just Hori not liking the fact that there is a side of Miyamura that she doesn't get to experience, this is later explored in the missing pieces too.

This anime was so good to begin with but then they added hori's kink and just made this show way more better
Two fingers like that means: "Bye See you later" in sign language someone mentioned it also represent bunny ears in shadow idk which one was used in that scenario
I believe, cause my friend from Japan does this, the "hand sign" is like peace out or see you again. They did the same thing in a silence voice for the "Talk later" things.

The show is hilarious when it's funny, but when it gets serious... Miyamura freezing up when a bully triggered his trauma and Hori coming to his defense was devastating. That hit WAY too close to home.
This is also probably the best episode to think about some of the visuals in the OP. Miyamura being inside a cube and washed in a blend of the blues representing his despair and the pinks representing love are visually powerful once you find out how he ended up the way he did. It's heartbreaking on a rewatch when Tohru says "you're a little weird but that's totally okay" and he starts crying and says "it will be okay". It was the first time he felt hope
Horimiya is such a masterpiece of an anime, especially with how realistic it is. Tbh this reaction really helped me notice that in a deeper way, because when I first watched it I was a pretty small kiddo. (For reference, I had no idea they actually had sex in that one scene even though it was fairly obvious)

this shows really talkin about chemistry, or human relationship, thats kind a heart warming story bcs we also so related to it.. even we dont experience that but may some freinds feel that situation
8:37 The reason he said that was because Miyamura used Hori's family name. So he was joking that Hori's mother was pregnant again.
And another ones who got lost with "the closet scene". Tanihara (the grey hair bully) was in a closet and Miyamura was telling him that if he stays there he'll end up alone, lonely, will get more frustrated and will take it out on other people. That's why he's mentioning the fruit tart at the end and how they're also ok. Like "Man. I accept you even you swing the other way." I remember when I was watching it the first time I was thinking "Maaaaaaan! That's a great portrayal of how Miyamura is accepting and understanding!" and I'm surprised how many people not getting it or not mentioning it during their reactions.
Horimiya hands down one of the best ;; similar ones that's this good is Dangers In My Heart

I was so glad I was able to laugh a bit watching Hori and Miyamura bicker over her kinks. The part where Miyamura encountered his bullies really cut and salted me. I was a bullied kid too, and besides that I suffered not from lack of valuation but from lack of vindication. I wanted to hit back but I couldn't. I've long forgiven my bullies but I never showed up during class reunions because there was literally nothing to go back to but bad memories.

I really am glad for my friends and my best friend who "adopted" me, I almost think we adopted us each other we both got more extroverted when we were together.
But I never got bullied like that, in Middle and Highschool, which is the same school in Europe class 5 to 13, we mostly bullied our teachers...
This show is my favorite romance anime. If you two love this you both should also give Shikamori is not just a cutie a try as well.

It's really rare to find a show where the main couple feel so natural with each other, but Miyamura really needs to sit down and have a discussion with Hori about saving their kinks for private time before someone accuses him of being an abusive boyfriend.

This show really lost me at this episode (and last episode, really). Hori's demands were just way too uncomfortable, and make Miyamura look so toxic despite how he actually wants to behave, especially when he has already been so ostracized...
