You're the friend I wish I'd been able to watch this with as it came out originally. It's been a genuine joy to see your reactions and your digging into the depths of the lore, making me rediscover my own fangirling for this show and even learning new shit now!! Every second edited in is gold, great editing and content in general. Thanks again for posting!
The Tyrells have historically filled in the gaps when a king's reign was weak. She's one of my favorite characters. She understood the assignment the moment she walked in.
The moment where Bron and cersei walked past eachother was so awkward, because that's the 1 and only scene they're ever in together, because they were in a relationship before GOT and it ended very badly. Lena (cersei) said she didn't want to be any scene's with him. She actually gives him a filthy look,if you look closely.
There's actually a deleted scene where Tywin reveals that he KNOWS that Pycelle is faking it and Pycelle basically uses the exact analogy that you used for Pycelle and how he keeps his power. The scene was supposed to be in Episode 3 of this season so I'd suggest watching either before or after that episode.
Nah, its a really dumb scene that I'm glad they cut out. Its almost fourth wall breaking in how it tries to spell out every bit of intrigue the show is hinting at. Tywin already knows this about Pycelle, so the only reason it exists is to explain it to the audience like we are idiots. Im glad they cut it.
Margery and her family actually know how to rule. Keep the people fed and make sure they know it's thanks to you. Joffrey thinks that common folk should adore him just because he's King. The Tyrells know you have to actually do good by the people for them to like you.
You're noticing all sorts of great subtleties I never did ... including the double back during the Greyjoy introduction lmao. No but really, the maester chains, noticing that the fire engulfing them as they speak... It speaks to the richness of these scenes. So much fun watching this with you!
Sir, thank you for doing your due diligence with this show (that's a tongue twister and a half). It is a pleasure seeing someone pick up and appreciate the small things. Instead of just being confused for half the damn show.
Your reaction to the Tywin scene is quite exactly like mine… Like that’s such bullshit. You don’t “demand a garland of roses”, Tywin? That’s really nice, but you and all the other folks sure had your lovely little parade in the throne room, where all of you were patting each other on the back, giving credit for all sorts of deeds… You literally *pranced* in on the back of a pony. While Tyrion, the man without whom all would’ve been lost, was lying in bandages. And now you keep treating him like vermin, while you’re again respected as the Hand of the King. Tywin is so blinded by his prejudice, he simply refuses to see Tyrion for who he is: a very intelligent and capable man he should be proud of. It’s almost even worse that on some level, Tywin clearly knows it… He trusted Tyrion to be the Hand of the King in his absence. So he can treat him like his son when it’s convenient for him… And as soon as Tyrion is no longer “needed”, he’s discarded.
You’re spot on about Cersei. She’s cunning but only in dealing with the things right in front of her. She isn’t good at looking at the long term and big picture, which is why even when she makes smart moves they always end up coming back to bite her later on.
Game Of Thrones is infamous for it's foreshadowing. Never think you're reading too much into something, because you're probably not lol. Like the shot of Tyrion and Varys talking about Dany while you can see those subtle flames in the shot. It's definitely purposefully done.
5:00 you’re really smart bro, and it’s obvious you aren’t like looking shit up. I’ve seen the show probably 5 times and i’ve never thought about pycelle and tyrions interaction in that way
[SPOILERS (sorta kinda) TEXT FROM THE BOOK] The red woman laughed. “No one betrayed you, onion knight. I saw your purpose in my flames.” The flames. “If you can see the future in these flames, how is it that we burned upon the Blackwater? You gave my sons to the fire…my sons, my ship, my men, all burning…” Melisandre shook her head. "You wrong me, onion knight. Those were no fires of mine. Had I been with you, your battle would have had a different ending. But His Grace was surrounded by unbelievers, and his pride proved stronger than his faith. His punishment was grievous, but he has learned from his mistake." Were my sons no more than a lesson for a king, then? Davos felt his mouth tighten. "It is night in your Seven Kingdoms now," the red woman went on, "but soon the sun will rise again. The war continues, Davos Seaworth, and some will soon learn that even an ember in the ashes can still ignite a great blaze. The old maester looked at Stannis and saw only a man. You see a king. You are both wrong. He is the Lord's chosen, the warrior of fire. I have seen him leading the fight against the dark, I have seen it in the flames. The flames do not lie, else you would not be here. It is written in prophecy as well. When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone. The bleeding star has come and gone, and Dragonstone is the place of smoke and salt. Stannis Baratheon is Azor Ahai reborn!" Her red eyes blazed like twin fires, and seemed to stare deep into his soul. "You do not believe me. You doubt the truth of R’hllor even now...yet have served him all the same, and will serve him again. I shall leave you here to think on all I have told you. And because R'hllor is the source of all good, I shall leave the torch as well." With a smile and swirl of scarlet skirts, she was gone. Only her scent lingered after. That, and the torch. Davis lowered himself to the floor of the cell and wrapped his arms around his knees. The shifting torchlight washed over him. Once Melisandre’s footsteps faded away, the only Sound was the scrabbling of rats. Ice and fire, he thought.
Sometimes I wish I had kept all these nuggets from ASOIAF. Now as so many years have passed and The Winds of Winter remains tied up in the Mereen Knot, I have given up hope for the remaining two books. I don't blame GRRM at all, in his old age just being able to do what he wants to do. I suspect he feels that his garden has grown too large to maintain, too many weeds have taken over.
....waking Dragons from stones.... Hmmm... Prince or Princess.... Sooooo good!! I understand GRRM also.... I mean.... he should be able to enjoy , the rest of his life! And now, when he's been talking about "maybe someone taking over his writing, and finishing his work". I feel better and more hopeful, that we'll get the "ending" eventually. Well... I think, Brandon Sanderson , Brian Herbert and/or Kevin Anderson could be perfect....; because they've all been doing this before...."Finishing another's work
Your rant about Pycelle makes me think of the medieval/renaissance era bishops who were in king's/queen's courts and ostensibly were servants of the king/church but often were power-hungry, rich, had mistresses, etc. I think of Pycelle kinda like that.
I wait for these videos every Saturday and watch them during work, makes the shifts go by just a bit quicker and more enjoyable. Keep up the amazing work!
You're review and analysis of each episodes is so refreshing and appreciated! Its so hard to find reactors who actually dive into the stories as easily as you did. You're pointing out things I've never noticed before. I cant wait to continue this series with you!
Have you noticed that so many episodes have certain themes repeated in different variations within a single episode? And usually the theme is linked to the title...but the theme can mean drastically different things to different characters in different settings (within the same episode)? I was so caught up in the story on first watch, I didn't even notice any of that kinda cool stuff. Good detective work! Impressive!!
Welcome back my lord! It is good to see you in good health🙏🏻 BEST part of my week starts today lmao. Thank you for another episode! I’ve been LOVING these reactions and how invested you are, and have been! You deserve to talk about this show as much as you want! I’m all for it🙏🏻 we’re getting SO close to my favorite part of the entire show, gotta wait til season 4😭 but this season is just as FIRE.
After you finish this season, there is a deleted scene with Pycelle and Tywin that you would love, its an amazing scene no clue why they didnt add it in. in fact you can watch it right now if you want, nothing in the scene spoils anything. its the only deleted scene shown to the public in all of season 3, they deemed it worthy for the bluray.
Heads up. That wasn’t the night king. That was one of his henchmen/commanders. You’ll know the Night King when you eventually see him. 😊 you’ll be like “ohhhh… thaaaaaaat’s the boss.”
Some time passed between the end of the Battle of the Blackwater and the scene where Loras asks Joffrey to marry his sister. We know this because they had at least one small council meeting. I suspect Tywin had already instructed Cersei that a marriage to Margaery would cement the new alliance between the Lannisters and the Tyrells. But, it's also possible that we witnessed an actual act of kindness from Cersei to Sansa. Cersei seems conflicted by Sansa - she sees herself in Sansa because she resents having been sold in marriage to Robert and so you see some moments of genuine concern, like when she was talking to Sansa after her "red flower" bloomed. But on the other hand, Sansa's innocence annoys Cersei like nails on a chalkboard.
i got to say, bro got top notch reactions, not to over the top not to boring, learning about the extended universe dressing up like a royal and not stopping the video every 5 seconds. 10/10 n my book.
Don’t feel like you’re reading too much into anything, I genuinely love these insights. I never considered Pycelle taking his chain off in that scene to be connotative of his feelings that he is not truly a servant of the realm. You’re spittin’, bro.
the fire part with tyrion and varys😂😂😂 with this show somethings are intentional or coincidence. the fact that u picked on that is why the show is so great and full of details in general
The actress who played Cersei and the actor who played Bron used to date in real life. It didn’t end well, and Cersei had it in her contract that they would never shoot scenes together.
You jumping in the chair is comedy😅😅...ok. let me tell you why I rock with you. You are astute when it comes to this show. For someone who hasn't read the books, you pretty much catch what matters. I can't wait til you do HOD. Ok, let me finish watching this video😂.
100% right about Cersei. And really, that's one of the reasons that I think she's one of the best written characters in the show and in the books. She's spent her whole life watching and listening to her father and the other major players in King's Landing be sly and cunning and scheming the hell out of everything, and she thinks she's on their level but she definitely isn't. She's not nearly as patient as they are so she tends to do thinks that will get her something she wants quickly without thinking ahead at all. Her plans tend to seem like they worked at first, but then consequences she didn't expect start rolling in and things fall apart.
Now you know why Tyrion didn't receive much for his efforts, Cersei and tywin hate Tyrion because their mother/wife died during childbirth .. But here's an interesting fact that isn't said in the show, Joanna Lannister (Mother & Wife) was Tywin's cousin
20:21 funny behind the scenes. Actress that plays Cersei and the actor who plays Bronn dated in real life before the show and it didn’t end well… 😬 so they had it in their contracts that they could never be in a scene together or forced to interact. this moment is the only time they ever appear on screen together.
Your grace, I would like to humbly inform you that there is no such thing as “out of the goodness of her heart” when it comes to Cersie. I would like to take u back to Herrenhal when Baelish came to see Twyin and discussed the Tyrells and what it would take to get them on board - which was Margery becoming THE Queen. So a deal was struck and Cersie had her orders. She said what she said to give Joffrey the out without their house losing face. It was all about them and nothing more. Sansa’s feelings or freedom from Joff was never a consideration.
Pycelle makes himself look like a frail old man so that no one sees him as a threat, but Varys, Littlefinger and Tywin probably know he's faking. For his whole act to work, he'd have to keep it in his pants. Varys is scheming, but out of everyone in kings landing I think he's the only one who actually cares for the realm regardless of which house comes out on top.
I absolutely LOVE that you are giving so much thought to characters such as Pycelle, Varys, Littlefinger..they have motives and influence so many events in ways in which first time viewers usually don't know.. I really have to watch histories and lores at some point..seems like it might help a lot, and I'd like to read the books again cos its been awhile, but I also love trying to puzzle stuff out myself.. Finally, in time, you will come to realize that Cersei is the GOAT, or at the very least, the most entertaining.. Xo
This is only scene when you will see Bron and Cersei together. They were couple in real life and it doesnt end well. You saw how she just walk pass him.
Varys is an enigma, as ruthless as any of them. Sadly the show condensed ASOIAF so much that it was impossible to explore his motivations and what he wants.
Okay Ed Sheeran……😂😂😂😂😂 doesn’t realize how funny that joke is.
Haha. Indeed
shhhhh lololol
I missed it. When did he say it?
@@nobleconsejera5278 He said when he saw Tormund, because he's a ginger lol
Facts 💯 LMAO
Exactly right about Pycelle. The show actually does a great job with these subtle hints, you'll find them throughout each season.
That old snake is just playing the game as best he can haha
I've rewatched the shows a ton of times and I never realized that Pycelle takes his chains off when he's forbidden to do so. That's a great catch.
Same 😮
You're the friend I wish I'd been able to watch this with as it came out originally. Yeah its an understatement to say these episodes truthfully make my day a lot better :)
The Tyrells have historically filled in the gaps when a king's reign was weak. She's one of my favorite characters. She understood the assignment the moment she walked in.
The Hound been in my top 5 since he stopped Sansa from killing Jeoffrey and gave her a handkerchief to wipe her busted lip....
Joffrey would have hip tossed that ho right off the edge.
The king has arrived with a new season... All is well. 🎉❤
Until he starts seeing red...🙃😂😂😂
Hear ye 😂
"You see what's on his... Is that a person upside down?"
hehehehehehehehe
Ohhhhhhhhhh boy lmaooooooooo

I 2nd this, wish they had kept it in. Kinda see why it was deleted cause the screenplay is a tad unfamiliar/awkward but I personally liked it
I 4th this, Charles Dance never turns it off
Nah, its a really dumb scene that I'm glad they cut out. Its almost fourth wall breaking in how it tries to spell out every bit of intrigue the show is hinting at. I think nothing in this show can be overlooked as insignificant. I like how your mind works!
You're noticing all sorts of great subtleties I never did ... including the double back during the Greyjoy introduction lmao. No but really, the maester chains, noticing that the fire engulfing them as they speak... It speaks to the richness of these scenes. So much fun watching this with you!
Barry you’re gonna love this season!! So excited ☺️
Aren't we all... I'm going red with anticipation
Bro, you're crushing it on the regular.
"I would sooner be consumed by maggots" is crazy.
I agree with you about Margaery. At the end of the day, she is helping people. So how much does it truly matter whether it's for optics or not?
Sir, thank you for doing your due diligence with this show (that's a tongue twister and a half). It is a pleasure seeing someone pick up and appreciate the small things. Instead of just being confused for half the damn show.
‘You look basically the same … only now you’ve got some texture!’
The hound said: fuck the king! 🤣🤣🤣
Idk why people call him The Hound when he's obviously the GOAT!
Man all the things you caught at the beginning... I forgot what it was like back when the showrunners were trying
Your reaction to the Tywin scene is quite exactly like mine… Like that’s such bullshit. You don’t “demand a garland of roses”, Tywin? Lmfao, I forgot that Joffrey and Cersei just roasted each other this episode
The way you immediately clocked Margery 😂 She's cool AF though
Hi there! You’re doing great btw. Don’t doubt yourself 😉 - How long did we wait between seasons, over a YEAR!! 😵 Take care

Lol “that’s guys fit is fire” made me laugh, the lord of bones 😂
In the books; Tyrions nose is gone from the attack and the injury is worse
“I gotta pause I gotta pause” as he sees Bronn walking up on the Kingsguard haha
Jon's actor married Ygritte's actress. That cuddling for warmth scene made Jon put a ring on it IRL.

If I remember correctly (I probably don't), the lord of bones wove bones into chain mail, so he always rattled like a bad omen

Xo
Are we all exited that he got to season 3 already? 😆
7:41 you’re definitely not, the symbolism is great in this show
And never forget that Bron is a sellsword, only money matters to him, he says as much openly.

I'm so excited! That is all. 🤐🤐🤐🤐
This is only scene when you will see Bron and Cersei together. They were couple in real life and it doesnt end well. You saw how she just walk pass him.
You're doing amazing 🌹
Varys is an enigma, as ruthless as any of them. Sadly the show condensed ASOIAF so much that it was impossible to explore his motivations and what he wants.
