Great video!, the reason I think Paul prefers the less produced version is because The point of let it be was to not be over produced and have music they could preform live because they had done a things on Sargent pepper and the white album that couldn’t be replicated live and they wanted to get back to the basics.
Yet whenever he plays The Long and Winding Road live he uses an orchestral backing. Many songs on that album were not meant to be stripped down either such Across the Universe which Spector did an amazing job on.
I want to reiterate this but in a very constructive way. On occasion they made a noise that vibed with the rest, but when it didn't, ouch. It could have been done more sparingly (or maybe it just needs to be heavily EQed)
Tbh it added unique character, without it I feel like the song is kinda boring I wish it wasn't a little too hazy with all the effects tho and decreased the volume of it a bit
This was sick, I think you nailed translating that song into a 90s r&b feel, the one piece that felt out of place for me was the chipmunk part, something I thought could add that intrigue it’s serving while feeling more fitting would be like a talk box or a pitch shift, it reminded me of Frank Ocean songs like Close to You which samples that great talkbox audio by Stevie Wonder or Nikes which does a similar pitch thing in its first half, I dug it, you’ve got a great voice
Amazing video my guy!! Commenting purely on the video itself as a piece of artwork before even hearing the cover yet, you do excellent work! Very “minor” (heh) correction! A plagal cadence is when a song goes from the IV chord to the I. Even the regular major four chord to the regular major one chord. A “minor plagal cadence” is when it goes from minor iv to Major I chord. Beatles used to do IV, iv, I alllllll over the place so it was a good choice. Keep up the incredible quality and you’ll be going places!!
I'm not sure why you have so few views etc, you deserve a big audience. Your voice and production is great, though IMO you don't need the vocal fry and chipmunks. Keep it up :)
As if a teen spray painter sneaked into the Louvre to immortalize his tag on a Van Gogh... and then got caught. And all the teens get offended and call one a snob when someone says that's crap🤦🏻♂️ But I'm not shocked...I knew once the time will come
I had very bad vibes about this when I saw the title as I hate the sound of 90s RnB (I'm more of a 70s and 80s music in its various genres). But after giving us a run through of what you were going to do with your DAW of choice, I sat with baited breath, expecting to hear something utterly awful, overprocessed and compressed to shit and drowning in reverb. Instead, I found it to be quite pleasant. I would say though, to lose that stupid chipmunk voice shit because it does nothing to enhance the song in any way. In fact, it is incredibly irritating. I would remove those and replace them with natural vocal harmonies that give further warmth to the song, just as you would hear on tracks by Michael Jackson or earth Wind and Fire.
So much work, so much thought, but then THIS RESULT. WTF. This is nothing like 90s RnB. This is just plain, boring, soulless. PLEASE!!!! Get a new hobby!!!!
I like the idea of contrasting your voice pitch with a higher pitched voice (ie:chipmunk sound) but perhaps a female voice singing falsetto would give you the contrast you are looking for without the chipmunk-esque quality. Outstanding nonetheless and I appreciate how you breakdown each element/sound you are blending.
As a Beatles fan I loved everything about it minus the chipmunk BV. Erase that part and you have an awesome track. But well done bro, you did a great job!
I loved the whole thing except the cartoonish voice parts. They sounded cartoonish and didn't fit with the rest of the song. Otherwise this is a really good RnB cut. Great idea.
love this bro you should keep doing this with different artists. I also think the title "I Turned the Beatles Into 90’s Rnb" would hit a little harder but either way the concept is super great. Maybe even a video like "I Turned Every *popular artist* Song Into *genre*" if you really wanna go crazy. Then you could just show snippits and probably release the tracks fully on another platform like soundcloud or a second channel. would allow you to keep a decent length on the video without getting too technical and losing the casual viewer. idk just some ideas lol. keep grinding man good luck to you
concept and execution are absolutely brilliant! my nostalgia for the Bug Boiz smashed with my far younger nostalgia for MJ and other pop artists. goes to show just how rich, vibrant and flexible these tracks were.
KUDOS, ZIGGY...KUDOS !!! This is my favorite Beatles song of ALL TIME and it feels that, for the most part, you definitely gave it serious justice !!! 😊
Okay, yeah the end result is super fun! Keep it up man. Ignore the haters who are stupid enough to assign morality to music interpretation. They forget that The Beatles themselves laughed at people like them in their day.
Ziggy, wow-creative production for sure. Awesome bass/kick mixing, very r/b. IMO the chipmunk effect lessens the soulfulness. Nevertheless the arrangement and added bit is excellent.
Cool arrangement! You really added your own flavours and threw the song (I've know it for almost 50 years) 30 years forward. Great chords too with the maj7(9) at the end :-). It provides an uplift indeed.
"VI" = 6, not 4. 4 has those two letters interposed: 'i' then 'v'. And minor should be written in lowercase, not uppercase. So what you mean to put is this: "iv -> I".
Excellent arrangement and recording! A song like that is almost untouchable as it's so well-written, but you gave it a great spin. (Yea, the chipmunk voice... but the rest is killer). Kudos!
Really nice cover of one of my favorite Beatles songs, one of Paul's best. Very nice arrangement and production here. Personally hate everything Specter did to Let It Be, but it's a weak collection of songs to begin with.
Pretty easy, sequencing everything. Little natural talent, just Autotune, effect drops, fake drums. The reality of groups from that era is part of their charm, and talent.
Your work on this Beatles-Song is insanely well done and dedicated. You can tell you LOVE what you do and that`s great. The Arrangement would have been great for Michael Jackson...I am sure he would have loved it. I am not an MJ-Fan, but thats my opinion. Also i hope because of your Talent as a Producer and Artist that you are also working on your own Songs. If so, thats great. This is the first Video from your Channel that i watched. Yo, this sounds like if Prince was born 30 yard later! Seriously dig your voice and the way you use it. This Beatles stuff is fun and why I clicked, but damn man, that's good shit.
Suppperrr Ambitious and you killed it! I am a massive beatles fan, and usually don't really like covers, as the beatles are already the best there ever was. And most covers usually stick within the same genre. But this was actually such a mf bop! blew my mind. On the Chipmunk vocals, go to the Warp and change it from Beats to Complex. It really smooths out that choppiness. You are so dope 🙌 Much praise and Subscribed ✅️
Absolutely amazing EXCEPT for the chipmunkish vocals. Out of place, way too loud in the mix and in general really dispensable. What a shame, because the cover (and your presentation of it) was absolutely superb otherwise.
First, do you live in Rhodes Ranch? And second, nice job but this was the wrong song to turn into a 90’s type song. Helter skelter might’ve worked better.

Glad this popped up in my recommended section on YT. Great job transforming a nearly 60 year-old song into a vibe that is still over 30 years old. I happen to like the chipmunk VOX in it as well, but love the vibe and video. Looking forward to more and exploring some you have already made...that Al Greene is catching my eyes & ears!😍
Oof. Bro, that ‘Alvin & the Chipmunks’ auto-tune sounds like fingernails across a chalk board. My two cent take. Otherwise, awesome vibe and track. Mad talent. Props
Sick bridge. While I don't rly prefer the chipmunk vocals (except the interlude, I rly liked the addition), this was so slick and I felt a lot of soul and artistic intent. Such a huge bop. This is up there with the Hether cover, which is my favorite cover of the song.
Gorgeous track! The pitched-up vocals in the first half of the song are jarring, however. I'd perhaps introduce them more subtly at first, so they're not as much of a shock. Or, just go all-in on the smoother, lower backing vox, which are just lovely later on in the piece. Also, this take on Here There and Everywhere reminded me of that McCartney/Michael Jackson song "The Girl Is Mine" = a Beatles-y melody + late 70s r&b groove + MJ vocals. Good stuff.
Nice song overall, but the chipmunk voice is both horribly annoying and not a 90s thing. Michael Jackson voice isn't exactly 90s r&b either. I was expecting a boys 2 men style, and got Michael and the Chipmunks.
Enough already! Quit hating on Phil Spector: He is an RNRHOF inductee for good reason - not going into detail about his musical legacy; go Google it yourself. I've heard Let It Be Naked, and was very, very, very underwhelmed by it. Spector was a genius. No one disparages the writings of Hemingway because he was a drunkard and a wifebeater. Geniuses don't need to be saints, folks.
the chipmunk voice worked better if it wasnt that, instead used a harmony voice (its just my appreciation). Anyways, love it!!!, still making this videos!!
I like your knowledge of music theory. Very nice version of the song. I'm not a fan of that type of drumming. It's too modern for me. That said, everything is well done with your version. If the high voice, Mickey Mouse harmony voice, were replaced with just a straight female voice, you'd be at 100%, as far as I'm concerned. If you're wondering what criteria I use, I'm a singer songwriter, who performs at wineries, playing only original music. I've produced two CDs, so far, and lots of other songs. So, I have a bit of knowledge on this subject, and i think that you did a great job. Your voice stands out a being very pleasant and that of a competent singer. If you're curious, here is a live video from a recent winery gig. Good work, my man. You obviously love what you're doing. Here is the link. ruclips.net/video/iEkpSbXLlIA/видео.html
Nice arrangement Ziggy, you sing really well and the production was high, too. But I would have rather heard you and your band do an all live version, honestly. I like a good groove and, with all due respect, having rhythms sounding grid perfect, which is a thing these days, kinda kills that for me. Guess I'm old sckool that way. Legendary drummer and bassist, Bernard Purdie and Chuck Rainey, could have smoked this. Please check them both out here on this isolated track Aretha's "Rock Steady". ruclips.net/video/dsR6SX-x8mc/видео.html It's the slightly off the grid stuff, as well as "ghost notes" you feel more than hear, that makes this a monster groove, to me that's the difference. Overall, AI and DAW programmed music is more economical and definitely easier (I do the DAW myself), but a live, well played performance is far superior in my little world.
I love this arrangement! However, to me the chipmunk voice should be replaced with e.g your natural falsetto voice an octave higher. This chipmunk thing doesn't really fit the 90's RnB style. But the rest of the cover is awesome!
Good job. I quite like the simple and relaxed approach, and I think it does work well (though lots of Beatles fans will probably hate you like they do any cover version). I would just have gone a little easier on what others here call the "chipmunk voice". It's not even totally inappropriate in the style, but it sticks out a little. Earned a "like" anyhow :)
Overall a very decent remake of a great classic Beatles (a McCartney contribution). I like the direction you went with it. My biggest criticism would be missing the opportunities for some great vocal harmonies on the bridge. I did not like the choice of the high pitch "chipmonk" vocal. Still the bridge gave me goosies. So good on you!
Pretty nice for the most part. I'm not sure what universe the chipmunk voice would sound good in, but it ruins it in our universe. Not trying to be harsh, but damn!. Also, I think it was a mistake to change the chord at the end of the chorus where it goes back into the verse on the word "everywhere". That modulation of Paul's was genius, bringing the melody back home, completing the chorus. It's the climax of the melody and you chose that one to change. That was your biggest mistake imo... after the chipmunk voice. But the groove and sound of the bulk of the tune was great!
I am a huge Beatles fan, and this is a great version! ❤I love change, and don't like listening to carbon copies of original songs. One thing I would have kept are the background vocal arrangements, at least some of them. They are a huge part of what makes that song work.
This is what this song was meant for. Paul McCartney was before his time. I don't think the Beatles and George Martin knew how to treat this great melody Well done!
I do this really autistic thing where I listen to pop songs and try to think about if it would be a John song or a Paul song. Glad someone has similar thoughts.
Great video!, the reason I think Paul prefers the less produced version is because The point of let it be was to not be over produced and have music they could preform live because they had done a things on Sargent pepper and the white album that couldn’t be replicated live and they wanted to get back to the basics.

I would buy this as a track... if it didn't have the chipmunk vocals on it...
This is amazing definitely feel like im early on this
Check out Musiq Soulchild’s cover of Something
Fine work young man… don not use a mic when you do the lipsync 😏 Chipmunk effect is also not necessary…
Some ah and uh added and then it sounds much like Michel Jackson!
Definately not Beatles like, but interesting idea.
Yeah, lose the Alvin chipmunk voice and it's much better.
I do this really autistic thing where I listen to pop songs and try to think about if it would be a John song or a Paul song. Glad someone has similar thoughts.
