    I bought that exact same helicopter , it’s amazing , easy to fly and very scale. I did have 1 issue and that was calibration. I had to look up video on how to calibrate it using my computer , it was easy and only took about 5 min . Other than that , it is as advertised and you hit it in the nail when it comes abrupt stop , they should improve that . This heli will get more scale flyers up and flying with minimal annoyance and 100 percent fun . Great review

    • @Troew
      @Troew Месяц назад

      I’ve got the flywing airwolf and the braking (abrupt stopping) can be adjusted in the software. Check the software, you can probably adjust the braking on this as well. Though do bear in mind that this is rather like an emergency stop and has saved me many times.

    You hit the nail on the head about buy RC Heli's or lose them, because most folks I know quit RC Heli's because of the costs associated with the learning curve crashes and associated down time, they simply said the can not afford the hobby based on that steep learning curve.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Месяц назад

      10000000% - we need more interest to get people flying them! I am slightly worried, that people may make the "leap" too early to a "ReaL" RC heli, but then it's on them...but for now, so long as we can turn off the aids, I love these helis!!!

    I can confirm on full size real helicopters that there is a area of strong vibration when spooling up from idle to 100 percent flight RPM. On the Sweitzer 269 I trained on My instructor had it marked on the gauge and always said not to let the RPMs sit in that area and to just pass thru it. All of the Two bladed model helicopters I had in the past do the same. So its normal lol

    I have this helicopter Brian and I love it and what I did is move the velcro to the other side of the battery and then that way I was able to hook the battery up without having to to turn it around for the leads to the rear,,,,,just something to think about. LOVE, LOVE your videos their so informative and thorough and another thing is I used the same velcro because it is so good and sticky and when I moved it to the otherside of the battery I checked it really good and it stuck to the otherside of the battery no problem and didn't come loose. Hi Brian, do you recommend to set the voltage alarm to 3.3v for airplanes as well? Or what is your recommendation?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 месяца назад +1

      I just do it for drop dead voltage on a heli, but to be frank, this heli will land at ~ 3.6-3.7 VDC anyway, so unless I were to "cancel" the Return to Home feature, she would be on the ground WELL before the alarm sounded. I also like to have this JUST in case there's a SAGGY CELL...sometimes this will cause issues on lower cell count flight packs, like 2S or 3S, but with 4S and 6S packs, one cell sagging usually doesn't cause a complete failure, but it can ;)
      My "rule of thumb" is that 3.3VDC for PROP planes, and 3.6VDC for EDF's

      This Transmitter is purpose built for this Heli. Even thought you COULD make it work, it would be a HUGE Pain and you'd spend more money than if you just got a proper transmitter.

    I know people can say it’s a drone and not a “real” RC helicopter. But I’ve got a couple of the OMP hobby heli’s and DJI drones. The thing with the DJI drones, is the proprietary batteries. I hate to say it, but that’s the biggest issue for me. I’m not a skill-level snob by any means. (In fact, my skills need some improvement.). As long as you have those nice chargers, you will always have batteries to fly that Bell 206. I’ve even put an FPV camera on a helicopter, it’s fun. I’m guessing there will be even more nice looking GPS helicopters on the market in the future.

      yep - Love this heli, and no complaints from me for being easy to fly. There IS a 3D mode, which will make it GOOD for just about any heli pilot ;)

      It was like ~ 25 minutes! We flew it again this weekend, and same SUPER long flight times!!! Crazy for a 3000mAh 4S!

      @@BrianPhillipsRC👍 Got mine in December, love it. Flew it all winter in cold temps, 17 min on the stock battery landed at 3.7 consistently. Added lights, so much fun on a cold windy, overcast day. No issues whatsoever, nice review.

    Ref that comment someone made about the cost of a 600-700 scale heli cost the same as the Flywing 450 scales in the vid. That comment simply is NOT true. I've been flying scale heli's for a long time and have two of the Flywing heli's Brian reviewed and $750 for a heli of this caliber isn't bad . Further , the 600-700 scale heli's are anywhere between $1500 and $2500 . and they aren't ready to fly and require a higher skill level pilot to fly . I can say from experience. The Flying heli's are every bit worth the money. They literally can do anything for any level pilot to include new pilots from gps beginner, scale and full 3D capability. by flipping a switch.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Месяц назад

      YES - thank you! I love flying these scale heli's, and if there weren't help aids, I'd be watching someone else do it!!! My father-in-law flew this thing!!!! He doesn't even know how to run an RC CAR!
      As far as cost, cost component is such a huge killer of interest on heli's, but when you get right down to it, all the best RC stuff is expensive. Now-a-days you can get into a small heli for less than $100, which is gonna hopefully SAVE the hobby, and I mean SAVE the hobby...the most skilled rc heli pilots don't seem to remember how hard it was to learn, but any of these same pilots were very comfortable on a simulator, something that helped them along so fast...I was not, and still don't do a lot of simulator flying, but SHOULD ;)

    Hi Brian, very nice Helicopter
    I have two questions.
    Are the black rotor holders on the Bell 206 made entirely of aluminum or plastic? On the FW Airwolf they are made of aluminum.
    Which is better, the gear direct drive or a belt drive like the FW Airwolf?
    Thanks in advance

    Where can I find additional batteries for this aircraft? Will it accept aftermarket batteries? If so Is the battery plug an XT60 , IC3 or IC5 plug? Please provide c rating requirement as well as maximum dimensions of batteries as well.
    Thank you.

      @BrianPhillipsRC  17 дней назад +1

      You can find the batteries here:
      bprc.me/FlyWing_Bell206_Parts
      You could try a 3200mAh 4S Smart pack, but not totally sure what dimensions you'll need.
      bprc.me/4S_3200
      You can definitely use an aftermarket battery. You'll want at XT60.

    I have a question! Love the vids by the way. I have an NX8 radio and I'm kind of anal about linking all my aircraft to it. It seems I my have to get over this though , if I want certain aircrafts. Does it come in a BNF version or do you have to buy it RTF and would it be terribly difficult to set it up with my NX8. I really want one of these!!!
    Thank you Brian and Camera Lady ( don't know your wife's name ) 😁
