  • This is a video that I made to go along with my Knit Companion kClub appearance in 2013. I'm working on migrating all my videos to my Fallingblox Designs account so bear with me while things show up in multiple locations and viewing metrics are messed up.

OK,so no comments and only 17 thumbs up plus 1 from me. Your talent is amazing and learning is so exciting and you teach new things and that alone is thrilling. I must say the reason why there is not more thumbs up or comments is because YOU do not get excited about what you are doing and that is a real shame because I am watching all your videos today and you have such knowledge and amazing designs ( I saw you Fruity Knitting)! Please make more videos do not give up.

Thank you for the support! This video used to live in a different account where it got a little more attention, but I moved it -- so all the metrics and comments were lost. I had so many plans to post new videos but other things keep getting in the way. Now that I'm in lockdown, I have fewer excuses. New videos should be on the way soon.

Interesting and cool pattern! I like how it shows both stitches in the set unlike many of the DK charts today... It is kind of weird though on the way back they didn't just chart the knits and purls the way they were to be worked on that side of the work. Oh well. 😉
As a side note, I have to say that the music you put to this was a little intense. To me anyway. Heehee!

Sorry for taking a year to respond to this. I find that knitters are, in general, used to having the charted knits and purls switch places on the "wrong" side. Sure, I could have made the chart more literal, but it would have ended up making it more confusing in many ways. The critical thing is that you keep the knit-purl rhythm, always knitting into your knits and purling into your purls.

@@FallingbloxDesigns now that I've had another year to knit, I better understand what you were doing with the pattern 😉😘. Makes me realize how much time CAN be relative when it comes to knitting and crochet. Heehee 😁😍😊 Thanks for the response!

Music is very distracting, I will definitely be trying Double Knitting out

In a different context I’d’ve enjoyed the music. It did make me a bit anxious here.

What do you do with the color that isn’t in the border while doing the border? Thanks for the video!

When you cast on do you cast on 3 colors. Is there a video to show the beginning?

There isn't yet, but thank you for the idea. No, you CO with two colors and add the third in the first row where it's needed. I tried a 3-color CO and it's difficult and doesn't look good -- better to stick to two. BTW, I'm teaching a workshop on multi-color double-knitting later this month; you can find it on my BuildingBlox page (or, for those looking at this later, keep an eye on that page for this workshop or others in the future) double-knitting.com/buildingblox/
