    Great content and timeless.
    Planned to get fit but got the g15 draw on eBay for £26 because of this video.
    I have paid for 2 years of golf membership from buying and selling clubs. Great to see your tips.

    I've had one (well, two) for years, stock stiff shafts in 10.5 and 12 degrees, with the latter cut down to 44 inches -- and for a long time thought it was just my imagination, and that they couldn't actually be as good and as forgiving as I imagined. But then a while ago I felt I should modernize and bought a used G410 -- but within a month I had sold it and gone back to the G10. Terrific, fairway finding and solidly-made and sounding drivers. Thanks for your good work

    Had one from new in 2009 and kept it until I got an M6 so around 10yrs. M6 or any of the 6 or so drivers I have bought/tried out/sold on have really been measurably better. Everything you say is true but I like shiny things! And that’s why I buy/sell/refurb/build to fund my addiction.

  • @TheInsaneShecklador

    I had 2 brand new sets of G10s still in the plastic wrap until yesterday and now I have one.
    Long story short... Well as short as I can keep it. I used to play golf around 25 years ago but haven't played at all, not even once, since. Around 2008-09ish I won a sizeable shopping spree at a pro shop. Ended up with several sets of Ping and Calloway clubs. I sold most of them but kept 2 Ping sets thinking maybe I'd get out and play again.
    Fast forward 15 years and I finally went to the range yesterday after watching your video. I hit terribly for the first 20 shots or so but started to get some OK shots after that. I can already tell these G10s are light years above the old wooden hand me down woods I used to play. I've never even swung a metal wood until yesterday. The "new" (15 year old) Ping irons are also way more forgiving than my old 1980s hand me downs were 25 years ago.
    Thanks for getting me back out there. I'm probably gonna need several more range days before trying to actually play a round but I am gonna make it happen.

    I still have the G10, K15 and just bought 1 month ago the G410 driver, and the G10 as well K15 still take proper distances compared the new ones!!

  • @mikesmith8100
    @mikesmith8100 4 месяца назад

    Right on. The g15 is also a club that cannot be overlooked. Great video. Really, there have been nothing but micro changes to drivers since the g10. In fact most of the "improvements" take place on the advertising guy's desk. I've hit the ping g driver and found it, for myself, a piece of you know what compared to the g10.

    2 years ago i picked up a G10 virtually identical to the one you show and i loved it, i then “upgraded “ to one with a stiff shaft. This year i updated to a G15 with stiff shaft, and have no plans to swap out another driver for a while! Thanks for the content

    This video made me smile! I picked up a mint Ping G15 which is virtually identical for $20 usd five years ago and though I have a more modern Taylormade M2, this much older Ping is able to keep up with the new stuff. Great 👍 video. Thanks M.

    I use a G15 driver and would never think of changing it for the newer G425 as the cost heavily and negatively outweighs the need for something new which is barely going to improve my game. However, I now have a G10 on the way.

    Genuinely the best driver I've ever had! I unfortunately slammed it off a post at the driving range on the follow through and tore a hole in it, nearly cried!!! I play a Titleist 917d3 now and I still prefer the g10 over the much more modern club

  • @tomsettles6873
    @tomsettles6873 Год назад

    The G10 and G15 are amazing drivers. If you switch the TFC or Serrano to a shaft with higher bend point the spin will come way down. I think this is the only difference of the newer drivers - lower spinning stock shafts. I have a G15 with Aldila RIP Gamma shaft that averages 2400 rpm spin. My 106-108 mph swing carries 270 on sweet spot hits with 158-160 ball speed. The older Diamana blueboards are also great choice.

  • @dougiereid4205

    I liked the video and I had a good laugh, sorry Simon but some of us old guys are still using the G10 driver. In fact I have 3, I bought two more at a steal of a price just for spares. I still use the one I bought when they first came out. I have tried new drivers but just don't like the looks, sound or feel. With its large face, this driver gives me a lot of confidence that produces excellent results.

    Might have to try one out.... I picked up a G10 4 Hybrid/Rescue Wood for £2.50, including head cover, in a charity shop and it's easily my favourite club in the bag. Even tho the grip is completely shot, I've barely hit a bad shot with it.... It's so easy to hit it's unreal....
    my first hit with it on a course, the ball drilled through the wind and rolled out for my first ever Eagle 🦅
