just a quick question about improv, did you played in a very nice way or just some simple notes... cuz Ive heard about resources (the "full" one) the piano part was definitely horrible....:(
@@tomzhao7214 I don't think I played simply, I would recommend trying to come up with something that sounds like a solo and then using some parts in your improv, good luck on tomorrow's audition!
Yes of course! I'm a music producer from Hong Kong and I got in, I know incoming students from a ton of countries that got in. If you're a music producer that does not play an instrument you can look at the EDI audition guildlines on the Berklee website. If you have anymore questions message me on Instagram @raylilblue
Congrats om getting in! My daughter finds out on Mar 31st. What is your opinion on the 50% acceptance rate? I cant wrap my head around the concept of Berklee being the number 2 music school on so many lists and half of everyone that auditions gets in. Curtis is 4%. Cal Arts Herb Alpert is 35%.
@@dougfranckwolf Congratulations on your daughter's acceptance! I think some of the reasons why Berklee's acceptance is so high is because: 1. It has a larger campus and accommodates more people with more varied musical backgrounds 2. The audition is not as strict and and acceptance requirements aren't as high as the other institutions 3. The acceptance rate for each major may affect the average rate and be misleading, less competitive courses such as the ones with strings may have an 80% acceptance rate whilst a competitive course might have a 20% acceptance rate and the average leads to some number close to 50%, this is just an example so I'm not sure about the actual data 4. Berklee allows for people of many musical levels (unless you're just bad) to enter, hence the existence of placement exams once you enter in the first year to put you in groups with students of similar levels Hope this helps!
Thanks for your video! It is realyyyy helpful for those who are preparing the Berklee audition like me. There is still one thing that I’m confused on, which is how do you record your guitar sound during the audition? Do you just use the computer mic to capture the guitar sound from the amp, or do you use input audio?
May I ask you how long did it take for you to get the acceptance letter? I am really nervous and anxious. Is it gonna take a month? It’s almost a torture 🥲. If they issue decisions on the exact day of March 31st it’s gonna be eight weeks for me... it’s just... too much.
Thx for sharing, really helpful, one question: how hard is the sight reading? As for guitarists, cuz I play piano and guitar but had barely tried play guitar on clefs
I just skipped that part cuz I can’t sight read, As long as you do well in other areas you’re fine. I think they already expect a lot of guitarists to not know sheet music
Update: I got in!!!!!!

Hi! I got an 1/8 scholarship, currently finishing my 4th semester now
The Sight-Reading part must be done on the instrument or solfège singing ?
How did you find the money to pay for it tho? I really wanna go but it is so frickin expensive.
How did you download SAR?
Hey mate!! The sight reading was both cleffs (g and f cleffs) or chords + melody(only g cleff)??
If you play guitar, just G clef, bass then bass clef, piano both cleffs
Funny you say this now cuz I have a sight reading midterm tomorrow 😂😂
@@raylee2702 thank you!! Good luck :)

Is there any pre-screen material or something which we need to submit before our audition?

Hey, thanks for the guide really helpful. Did they give you the sight reading material beforehand or provide any time for you to analyze it ?
I think they’re supposed to but for me they just handed it to me without any prep time
