It seriously was! He was a marvelous actor for this role, like he genuinely embodied Joffery's wickedness. One of the few times the actor was too good at his role, and it ended up not being great for him irl. I've heard he was one of the sweetest people on set.
Tyrion has been trying to tell Shae straight up for months. He tried to get her to go, tried to set her up in a house outside the red keep, Varys tried to give her money to leave, she won't listen. He is desperate to save her now so had to do it like throwing rocks at a pet to make them run away for their own safety. 😢

Tyrion kept warning Shae she was in danger and offering to put her someplace safe and she KEPT refusing to go and refused to acknowledge the danger, so he had to resort to making her believe he didn't want her anymore to get her to go. It was dumb yeah but she left him very little choice but to do whatever would work to get her gone.
This episode has EVERYONE rejoicing in the death of a child!! The actor did an absolute fantastic job in portraying Joffery!! Phenomenal performance throughout the show

Sure she knows how to manipulate, she doesnt really marry for love. But she cares about the common people and wants to be a queen both for her own AND their gain, which is a rare treat in that world. Sooner or later her relationship with Joffrey would probably turn violent, I'm happy she got out of that situation cause she is a good person even if she has the skills of manipulation 🙏 And Tyrion had to say those things to Shae, by this point he had tried everything to make her leave and she still wanna run around like its their right to be together, knowing full well their relationship is putting both her and Tyrions life in danger. Desperate to make her leave so she wont be killed, Tyrion tries to make her leave one last time by breaking her heart.
